    Hello Sara! Because one is usually watching these tutorials just when one yet cannot perceive or fold the model, it would be very helpful if you would take your hands of the way and let the learner see the model form many angles from time to time to picture if it matches, instead of turning the model over and about so fast. It is really frustrating to try to see what you are doing and not able to see the outcome of the crease you've just made and how it should look. Do you get my meaning? Thank you very much for doing these videos and also explaining them so fully. It is helpful that you tell us while doing the folds which parts they are going to be in finished model. :) :) :)

    • @Happyfolding
      @Happyfolding  Před 6 lety +14

      Thanks for the feedback. I understand what you mean, and actually try to do this here and there. It seems I don't do it as much as you'd prefer, though. I'll re-evaluate this for my future tutorials and perhaps show the model more often just for a "status check".

    Although I rage quit and found parts hard to follow I greatly appreciate the fact that you have a "To the Moon" paper to fold. I'm gonna keep trying so I can get some bunnies!

    • @Happyfolding

      I hope you succeed!
      Also, If the rabbit is a bit too challenging right now, try folding some easier models to hone your skills and then come back to this one. This is what I've done many times in the past, and it's always been so rewarding to see how I progressed, finally managing to master the complex folds that were too difficult for me before.
      I am sure you will master the rabbit, especially from the "To the Moon" paper in the future!

    To all commentors and viewers having a problem:
    Don't give up! This is a very advanced model and learning a new pattern is difficult and takes some practice.
    I made a quite a few rabbits before I really got the hang of it. Also use light colored paper so you can see your folds better.

    I like the design, but I found it a little hard to follow... Maybe for other videos it would be even better if you went a little slower and didn't use "this" or "that" and words like that because at some point it just becomes hard to follow ^^" Thank you anyway, my mom's smile was as bright as I could imagine :)

      Thanks for the feedback! I strive to improve my presentation style with every video I make. Replacing vague references like "this" and "that" with something more specific is something I'll watch out for more. Hello I know its an old video but I really loved this tutorial you gave!💜
    I came to your video after playing 'to the moon' and I have a question.
    Before watching this video I found another tutorial of the same rabbit.
    I wanted the rabbit to look exactly the same as the rabbit in the game but I saw that your rabbit had a different ear. So I tried to find the difference and found out
    The other tutorial just stopped at 14:01 and went straight for the ear. But it did not have that "white part" that you hid with a reverse fold. That part made the difference in the ear. Im not sure if I did it wrong or the tutorial. I'm so confused..I tried following the the other tutorial from the start but it was still the same! 😭💦

    • @Happyfolding
      @Happyfolding  Před 5 lety

      Feel free to vary the ears so they have the shape and look you prefer.

    Great video, great fold :) from about the last 5 minutes, it became a little hard to follow, though. I think it would be nice if ou had shown the model without your hands a little bit more often in the ending, but I get that it's hard to film this well. I completed it anyway and it came out pretty well :)

    • @Happyfolding
      @Happyfolding  Před 7 lety

      Yes, there's a gap in the neck area. It's not intended to be closed.

    • @kcthewanderer
      @kcthewanderer Před 7 lety

      It was the legs. I missed the last flip forward after you showed the little white triangle, so my first attempt ended up in a "begging" position with the head looking upward, exposing that gap. My second attempt was a thousand times better! I think you've responded to every question I've asked on your channel. I just wanted to say how much I've appreciated the tips and encouragement as I've gotten started in origami. You've created a lovely channel here, as well as a new fan. :)

    • @Happyfolding
      @Happyfolding  Před 6 lety

      I think kami works fine. For the rabbit in the thumbnail, I used Tant, which is actually a bit thicker. If you feel like the paper you are using is too thick, try the same paper type, but a larger square. Hope this helps!

      Some paper wraps more easily than other. Especially when working with something like printer paper, it helps if the paper stays quite dry. So folding in a humid place will make the process more difficult. Using something sold as "origami paper" that is white on one side and colored on the other will probably work better than printer paper, by the way.

  • @caelestibuscreative7851

    I followed each step exactly but at about 10:50, there was a strange gold that was literally impossible to do on my paper and I can’t see where it went wrong

    hey Sara! I'm looking to start designing origamis! where would you recommend I begin?

    • @Happyfolding
      @Happyfolding  Před 7 lety +1

      Ha, I'm not a designer myself, so I can't give you much advice. But I hear one good way to start is just doodling with paper (trying out different things) to see whether you come up with something. You can also fold models several times to better understand how they are built. Unfolding also helps with that.

    You are amazing! Thank you! I found Maekawa-san's rabbit just before Easter about FOUR years ago. I tried to follow the diagrams from Genuine Origami. I watched a couple CZcams videos. Easter passed, and I had no rabbit. I put the project aside. A week ago, I decided to try again. Easter is 7 months away. I thought that should be enough lead time. Four years ago, I started with a 15cm square, then a 17.6cm square. This time I decided to start with a 25cm square. I searched CZcams and found your video. I did it!!! Of course, I have a "hutch" of rabbits that are not quite presentable. But, I'm happy with my last model! You are a very skilled tutor. Thank you so much! To everyone out there, this is an advanced model. (At least, I think it is advanced.) This rabbit may be something you have to work up to. Hang in there! Thank you, Sara!
