Go to settings and adjust the playback speed.:)
@@civilianjman8 I was thinking the same before i actually try to follow but with a lot of like this like that sorta instruction it is really quite frustrating
I can't believe River made hundreds of these. impressive video though! I've done my rabbit!
Congrats on folding your own rabbit!
Hello Sara! Because one is usually watching these tutorials just when one yet cannot perceive or fold the model, it would be very helpful if you would take your hands of the way and let the learner see the model form many angles from time to time to picture if it matches, instead of turning the model over and about so fast. It is really frustrating to try to see what you are doing and not able to see the outcome of the crease you've just made and how it should look. Do you get my meaning? Thank you very much for doing these videos and also explaining them so fully. It is helpful that you tell us while doing the folds which parts they are going to be in finished model. :) :) :)
Thanks for the feedback. I understand what you mean, and actually try to do this here and there. It seems I don't do it as much as you'd prefer, though. I'll re-evaluate this for my future tutorials and perhaps show the model more often just for a "status check".
To the Moon! I love that game so much! Thank you for this tutorial!
You're welcome!
bruh thats why i came here
Why did u come here
I love it too. brought me here.
"We can always regroup on the moon, silly!"
Although I rage quit and found parts hard to follow I greatly appreciate the fact that you have a "To the Moon" paper to fold. I'm gonna keep trying so I can get some bunnies!
I hope you succeed!
Also, If the rabbit is a bit too challenging right now, try folding some easier models to hone your skills and then come back to this one. This is what I've done many times in the past, and it's always been so rewarding to see how I progressed, finally managing to master the complex folds that were too difficult for me before.
I am sure you will master the rabbit, especially from the "To the Moon" paper in the future!
"Yes. What else?"
To all commentors and viewers having a problem:
Don't give up! This is a very advanced model and learning a new pattern is difficult and takes some practice.
I made a quite a few rabbits before I really got the hang of it. Also use light colored paper so you can see your folds better.
Thanks for the encouraging words and tips!
Maybe you would be interested in this cute origami piglet. It is easier to do, though the instructions are probably not as good. Anyway it may be a fun challenge.

By 7:00 my paper was already frayed on the edges. The paper is not folding like yours, it's frustrating T ^ T I'll try and try again though, too late to give up after coming this far!
I like the design, but I found it a little hard to follow... Maybe for other videos it would be even better if you went a little slower and didn't use "this" or "that" and words like that because at some point it just becomes hard to follow ^^" Thank you anyway, my mom's smile was as bright as I could imagine :)
Thanks for the feedback! I strive to improve my presentation style with every video I make. Replacing vague references like "this" and "that" with something more specific is something I'll watch out for more. I'm glad to hear, though, that you seem to have completed the fold nonetheless, congrats on that. And happy Easter to you and your family!
so true
I WHOLELY AGREE. "To this paper and that." omygod im quit.
Sara did a slower version of the video that’s easier to follow 9 years ago. Might want to take a look at that
10 years have truly resulted in improved experience and quality in your folding and videos. Thanks!
Thanks, Hank, it means a lot to hear that from you!
I love how far your channel has progressed throughout the years!!! Professionalism in teaching the tutorials is amazing compared to when you first started. Just so glad you kept with it, and I love the pieces you do! It's been a while since I've done any origami, contemplating starting again!!!!!
Thanks so much for that feedback! I always strive to improve with each video, so it's really good to hear others notice my progress. Also, I do hope you'll start again - perhaps this video will motivate you to fold the rabbit again?
slow down, give time to move your hands out of the way so we can make sure our folds are matching yours 😥
Not sure whether it helps, but you can slow down the video in the CZcams player. First, click on the gear icon (in the lower right corner of the player), then select speed and try out 0.75 or so.
genius! much easier for a beginner like me to follow at a slightly slower speed!! thank you! XD
I agree. I got really frustrated with this one
Lol, what a problem to use space button to pause and arrows key to go back 5 s? Really, ppl make problems with nothing.
@@yorksters1 Even repeating some moments doesn't work?
Wow! It is very beautiful.
I got here because of the game To the Moon.
I used to make origamis when I was a child. It's been many years since I stopped. I manage to make it in the third try. It looked kind of ugly, but I'll make more till I get it done perfectly.
Thanks for the video.
Congrats on folding the rabbit! I'm glad my video helped you with it.
RIVVVVERRRRR!!!!!!!!!
It took several tries until I was able to complete it. Very happy with the way it turned out. The patience and persistence required made it worthwhile. Thank you for your clear instructions.
These instructions are awesome! I've been doing origami for 4 weeks or so and managed to fold the rabbit on a 15x15cm paper. Thanks!
Congrats, well done! I'm glad to hear the video helped you fold this rabbit.
Hey!! This is a great tutorial!! My rabbit didn't turn out exactly as cute as yours did, I think I messed up the ears, but I thought everything you did was super clear! Your explanations made a lot of sense! I first tried to make this a few years ago and I had too much trouble and gave up, but I'm really glad I came back to this tutorial because now I've finally made one!! Thank you so much for the tutorial!!!

I am very lost making this
After 4 attempts I finally made one!!! thank you so much, it looks a bit scuffed but it's fun to make and I shall make more, love To the Moon

At first, I was like "wow, you made a whole new video just for me?? *blush*"
Then I saw the To The Moon rabbit. XD Very cool! I'll have to try that for a close friend of mine.
For you, and a bunch of other people out there. :) I'm sure your friend will appreciate the effort!
Thank you so much for the tutorial, I decreased the speed by half and repeated each step of the video multiple times, tore part of my paper, but after I am finally done ! It’s one of the first I have done and couldn’t be more proud! Thanks so much again
Congrats!
the patience that Rivers must have to fold like hundreds of this must be insane
rage quit
me too
dangit i need a colored paper
I thought I'm the only one who used a symmetrically cutted A4 paper XD
I ripped my paper into four quarters...
omfg me too bruv couz wtf tho are ye talking bout "put this one here" dang man
great tutorial! finally successfully completed it, and I am so happy. the weight of the paper definitely makes a difference. the thinner the paper, the easier the folds, for sure. thanks for a wonderful video :)
Congrats!

Utterly amazing! It would be good to take some time at the end to get a decent view of the rabbit from different angles. It deserves it!
OMG 😱 i made it on my first try! Even if the bunny look a little bit messy tho I didn’t expect to finish it for i have no origami background at all. Overall, i’m so happy with it.. totally worth the time and struggle, thank you so muchhh!

I enjoyed making it up until round about 5 minutes in when I rage quitted...
I had done exactly what you had done but for some reason yours had different flaps and creases. I tryed to continue but it was impossible. I'm confused. The time was around 5:12 where you said to hide the white paper. I don't know where I messed up
I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps try again? Plus, make sure the model is oriented in exactly the same way as I did in the video. Else it can get confusing quickly.
happyfolding.com - enjoy origami online ok I will try again soon. Thanks for your help
I had exactly the same problem and I did every single stepp like the video until 5:15... I really don't get it even after my second try! So now looking for another rabbit origami...
5:15 too, then she starts juggling with it
Its because it is wrong...for some reason she cut the video and starts in other point. Sad
I first tried the older tutorial on that bunny but it was too blurry from the middle of the vid. Now I tried this one once again and I just finished my 3-rd bunny and I’m getting better and better. I still struggle in the second hint- somehow I can fold the first one on the spot but the second is a massive difference (lol).
But I’m in! It’s so relaxing and challenging at once...
Thanks a lot for the tutorial and those I’m
Going to watch - and fold:)
Happy Easter! 🐣🐰
Hello! Just wanted to let you know that it's been 5 years and people are still watching your videos. Good work!
The time was around 10:09 when it becomes impossible to understand
I'm sorry to hear that. If the video/model is a bit too challenging right now, try folding some easier models to hone your skills and then come back to this one. This is what I've done many times in the past, and it's always been so rewarding to see how I progressed, finally managing to master the complex folds that were too difficult for me before.
agree
It was somewhere around the 8 minute mark where I lost it
Seriously I’ve been trying for the past 5-10 minutes and I lowered the speed but I just seriously don’t understand
This is great! The rabbit is adorable! Thank you for the great tutorial :)
Thank you, I'm glad you liked the video and of course Jun's wonderful rabbit!
doing this for my school art project. I tried this a couple of times. but I managed to do it! thanks for the tutorial

i tried 3 hours making this and even tho rabbit wasnt good i could see my hardwork in it it thank u so much :)
Thank you Sara! Just in time for Easter!
I'm glad you like it!
The suggestion to slow the speed down using the cog button saved me! I had to watch once at normal speed without folding then follow along at half speed before I could complete this model.
0:34 -HARD CRYING BECAUSE TO THE MOON-
so detailed and clear! thanks so much Sara!
Ah, good to hear that you viewed the new tutorial, too. Better, right? :)
I just love this model! Thank you very much for this Video!
You're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks so much. I am planning on giving this to my friend as a birthday gift. I made the ears a bit different, and I love it!
Nice video! It was quite hard at the first time (due to some imprecise folds) but second time went better and smoother. I find this a very pretty model and I'm planning to gift it to a friend :3
Congrats! It's great to hear you folded not just one rabbit, but two. The second time around is usually easier. :) All the best to your friend, too.
Hey i know this video is really old but i just watched it and can say i really enjoyed!!! Fairly easy to follow (i did put it on half speed) and im really happy with the outcome, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
I wanted to make an easter bunni origami, though this video wasn't EASY, it wasnt hard to follow if I slowed down the video! Thank you sm (message from the future❤)
Dear Sara, I love the design, and would love to have completed it but I gave up after not being able to do it for a long time. I have a suggestion for you, when doing the “same on the other side” try to do it methodically just like you did the first side, I found it quite difficult to follow the steps on the other side.
This video is a lot more helpful than the old one thnx for the redo:)
You're welcome!
When I first saw your video, I raged and died. Now Im able to do it, 5 months later.
edit: nevermind I cried while making this. I started to whimper when she kept saying THIS PAPER HERE. OMIGOD JUST SHOW IT FIRSTWHERE i HAVE TO OPEN AND CLOSE OMIGOD IM GONNA COMMIT TOASTER BATH TUB
Im done it !! it was really cute, Thank You !
thank you for this! i had to repeat a few parts of the video and slow it to 0.75x but it was a good tutorial. :> my bunny is so small (i only had 15cm paper or 5.9inch) to make it so it's a bit wonky in some areas but never the less, very cute
Congrats on your cute rabbit!
Great video! 👌
Thanks. :)
9:22 I got lost here ;u;
Edit: I replayed it a few times and I finally got it! Thank you so much for the tutorial!! c:
Glad you figured it out. Congrats on your rabbit.
this is just ricdiculous need more views
Is this just a remake video of the one you did a long time ago? Really cool model though!!! I'm definitely gonna fold it for Easter!!
Yes, that's right. But it's a special video, next week (following my upload schedule of "first Saturday of the month") there'll be a tutorial on a model I haven't presented before. :)
Thanks for this clearer tutorial! I love this model design
I'm glad to hear the tutorial is clearer. The model definitely deserves the best presentation possible. :)
Beautiful model! Thanks for a clearer tutorial on how to fold this amazing model.😀
I'm glad to hear the tutorial is clearer. The model definitely deserves the best presentation possible. :)
i made it with 6" paper and it turned out so cuteeee
SLOW DOWN please
Ah, I'm sorry to hear you find this tutorial too fast-paced. You could try using CZcams's video speed feature to slow it down a bit. Also, it's a more advanced model. If it's a bit too challenging right now, try folding some easier models to hone your skills and then come back to this one. This is what I've done many times in the past, and it's always been so rewarding to see how I progressed, finally managing to master the complex folds that were too difficult for me before.
agree 1000000000%
Pause button.
OMG! I got trough! It‘s not beautiful, but you can identify it as a bunny. I nearly rage quitted a few times 😅 spend 1h on this.
Congrats! It gets easier with practice, I promise.
you make it look so easy!
Practice makes perfect. The more you fold, the more intuitively you can manipulate the paper to do what you want it to. :)
There are some tricky bits in this design, the hind legs took me several attempts, but I persevered and managed to make a few of these adorable bunnies. The tail is my favorite detail :). I need to get some better/thinner paper, some of my thick folds toward the end felt a little mushy.
Congrats on folding your bunnies! Did you manage to find paper that you like better for this model?
I had to take a break and come back to it later, but I did it! I have a bunny! :D
I actually adopted my second real-life rabbit yesterday, she's very beautiful but so shy right now until she gets settled in. Maybe she will feel better with some origami friends around instead of just my first rabbit who is so curious he startles her.
Congrats! And all the best to your real-life rabbits.
Hey great video! I got pretty much everything spot on at 0.75 speed, although I still can’t get the head right. Can you please help?
Can you give me a time reference for which step of folding the head is not working for you?
Very well explained! I got it at first attempt.
What a cute rabbit! Thanks for the tutorial.
Help. I’m stuck at around 5:11 Where you start to hide the white paper then I can’t keep up with the folds--. 🤪I’m completely confused
Hello i little bit confused how to do it on 5:00 time and after that i cant follow up the next step...i hope you can explain it..thank you have a good day🌼❤
Lovely! * I am soooooo lost * * I’m actually crying * (Help Me)
Anything in particular I can help with?
Hi Sara, I finished this afternoon this awesome rabbit. The process is not so easy but with your explanations all become clear. The result is beautiful ! I fold it with kami paper. What paper do you recommend for this model ? I need to buy other paper than kami ;).
I love Tant for this.
11:15 casually folds 16 layers of paper in half
😎
Try using paper sold as 'origami paper' instead of using printer paper
I'm wrong for ever thinking that I could.
I had a will to live before attempting this.
We love the game "To the Moon" 🌙 *v*
Then you might enjoy the print pattern I prepared. :)
Hello I know its an old video but I really loved this tutorial you gave!💜
I came to your video after playing 'to the moon' and I have a question.
Before watching this video I found another tutorial of the same rabbit.
I wanted the rabbit to look exactly the same as the rabbit in the game but I saw that your rabbit had a different ear. So I tried to find the difference and found out
The other tutorial just stopped at 14:01 and went straight for the ear. But it did not have that "white part" that you hid with a reverse fold. That part made the difference in the ear. Im not sure if I did it wrong or the tutorial. I'm so confused..I tried following the the other tutorial from the start but it was still the same! 😭💦
Feel free to vary the ears so they have the shape and look you prefer.
Great video, great fold :) from about the last 5 minutes, it became a little hard to follow, though. I think it would be nice if ou had shown the model without your hands a little bit more often in the ending, but I get that it's hard to film this well. I completed it anyway and it came out pretty well :)
Congrats on completing the rabbit! And thanks for the feedback. I try to improve the clarity of my tutorials with every video I make.
Rabbit origami elegant.
I think I've got it...Is it supposed to look very surprised from the front? I can't figure out how to make that gap beneath the head and the chest close...
Yes, there's a gap in the neck area. It's not intended to be closed.
It was the legs. I missed the last flip forward after you showed the little white triangle, so my first attempt ended up in a "begging" position with the head looking upward, exposing that gap. My second attempt was a thousand times better! I think you've responded to every question I've asked on your channel. I just wanted to say how much I've appreciated the tips and encouragement as I've gotten started in origami. You've created a lovely channel here, as well as a new fan. :)
I made it! So good
Fantastic! I'm glad my video helped you fold a cute rabbit. :)
i think I stuffed up, from 5:25 I have no idea wha you are doing. if you could stop throughout the video and show us what it should look like ringt now that would be great bc i think mine looks different but I can't see and I dont know what it should look like
Do u have more of Jun maekawa origami video like the dragonfly?
No, I've only done a video on his rabbit so far.
whitch paper do you use for this rabbit. I've tryed with normal paper but its to thick. so I wanna as u whitch paper (not the size ) you use
I think kami works fine. For the rabbit in the thumbnail, I used Tant, which is actually a bit thicker. If you feel like the paper you are using is too thick, try the same paper type, but a larger square. Hope this helps!

Works alright with smaller paper. :) I used 5.6inx5.6in (14.224 cm) but it was hard to fold the smaller paper because of my big hands xD
Yes, I like folding it from 6in squares, but using larger paper makes it easier to show the details in the video. :)
I made a mouse
Close enough. :)
Bi Ao Omg same.
Or mine looks like a half dead squirrel or something. 😂
way too fast, ripped the paper no mater how gentle I was.
Some paper wraps more easily than other. Especially when working with something like printer paper, it helps if the paper stays quite dry. So folding in a humid place will make the process more difficult. Using something sold as "origami paper" that is white on one side and colored on the other will probably work better than printer paper, by the way.
I followed each step exactly but at about 10:50, there was a strange gold that was literally impossible to do on my paper and I can’t see where it went wrong
Did you figure it out eventually?
thanks for the wonderfull tutorial P.s Gabriella Schumann is my mom I used her account before now I use mine I was the one commenting on your wonderfull videos on my mom's account.😄
I'm glad you liked the video. And I hope you'll fold lots of rabbits for Easter. :)
i would like to send you a picture of my origami rabbit but how do i send It to you
You can send pictures to sara@happyfolding.com - I always love seeing your folds!
gabriella schumann Hi mom😊😄

hey Sara! I'm looking to start designing origamis! where would you recommend I begin?
Ha, I'm not a designer myself, so I can't give you much advice. But I hear one good way to start is just doodling with paper (trying out different things) to see whether you come up with something. You can also fold models several times to better understand how they are built. Unfolding also helps with that.
If you want to take a more mathematical approach, Origami Design Secrets by Robert Lang is an excellent resource: www.happyfolding.com/book-lang-origami_design_secrets_2nd_edition

Robert Lang's book, Origami Design Secrets, is an excellent bible for understanding origami design. It may be slow to read, but if you try his exercises, you will learn a lot, even if you can't fully understand everything the first time.
Thank you!

Nice video!!
You are amazing I LOVE YOU
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
still quite difficult to follow. you used a lot of "here" in the instruction video, but I don't really know where is it.
I'm sorry to hear that. I usually try to point out what I mean by "here". If you give time references as to which "here"s you are unsure about, maybe I or others can help clarify.
Hi - I recently started streaming Origami making (not teaching) on Twitch. And I love following your videos during my stream. I would love to inform you and get your permission -- also will mention during my stream that the model is form your video. Thanks!
Could you send me details on what you'd want to show to sara@happyfolding.com ? Thanks! I like to organize all permission requests and CZcams comments are not the best place for that. :)
Great video :)
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
this was so hard. but at least i tried
Amazing vid
Glad you like the video! :)
Nice origami
謝謝,美麗的兔子
You are amazing! Thank you! I found Maekawa-san's rabbit just before Easter about FOUR years ago. I tried to follow the diagrams from Genuine Origami. I watched a couple CZcams videos. Easter passed, and I had no rabbit. I put the project aside. A week ago, I decided to try again. Easter is 7 months away. I thought that should be enough lead time. Four years ago, I started with a 15cm square, then a 17.6cm square. This time I decided to start with a 25cm square. I searched CZcams and found your video. I did it!!! Of course, I have a "hutch" of rabbits that are not quite presentable. But, I'm happy with my last model! You are a very skilled tutor. Thank you so much! To everyone out there, this is an advanced model. (At least, I think it is advanced.) This rabbit may be something you have to work up to. Hang in there! Thank you, Sara!
I'm glad to hear you finally managed to fold one of these cute bunnies. You're right, it's a more advanced model. Your tip to work up to the model if it's too challenging right now is spot on!
You are also awesome
Thanks. :)
I love it
I'm glad to hear that!
I've done it in first attempt. It's taken me about 1h. I'm really beginner because I'm playing 3rd day with origami. Good job!
Yyay i did it on my first try
Congrats!
Mine ended up a bit deformed...and quite wrinkly, he also needs help standing up. But I still love him with all my heart
Amazing
I'm glad you like it.
