Blank/Prop Gun Review+Shooting ROHM RG-88

- I bought this for no specific reason other than to add to the collection of crap I already have. It's about $350 Can.
ROHM RG-88 9mm blank pistol.
All metal, excluding grip.
Right-handed safety/mag release.
Safety is also a de-cocker.
Front-firing (expels gases through the barrel)
7 round, single stack mag.
No external slide release.
Single and double action.
Also comes with barrel attachment for shooting "bear bangers".
Bought online, received it within 4 days.
This is a really nice little gun. I used mine to scare off a cougar that had decided to chase me down at the lake when i went outside to get firewood. As soon as I fired it in the cat's face, it did a 90 degree turn and bolted off into a nearby meadow. It got to live another day and so did I.
I just picked one of these up, just discovered if you press down-down on the safety it de-cocks the hammer. Cool little safety device

I used to have one but I didn't get to shoot it much where I lived.. I never even thought about how pointless the sights are lol. Maybe they're somewhat useful for the bear bangers..? I wonder what the legality of drilling the barrel would be. Obviously it can't be converted to real 9mm but it would make for some fun plinking if you stuck bbs to the blanks with wax. knowing our silly laws this might make it real firearm though.

Cool blank gun....I bought a Zoraki 914 a long time ago.....fun for flare shooting.....this Rohm looks more realistic.

I bought a leather Makarov flap holster and I carry it when I'm out on my acreage. Has warned off more than its share of bears and cougars over the years

You're right. I'm actually very upset that Walther PPK blank guns are most likely illegal in Canada. There is one called the Lady K that used to be sold in Canada, but I don't think they're legal now.

If you do, and try to shoot real ammunition, the gun will blow up in your hand, likely severely injuring your hand and face. It is purpose built with a weak kind of nickel alloy so that it cannot withstand the pressure of a real round. The metal has weight, but it will NOT take the energy of real rounds. Asides from obvious serious damage to yourself and the gun, it also most likely is very illegal in most places to even attempt something like that.

does it kick ?
No pretty much nothing. No recoil. Since it is not actually pushing a mass down the barrel, there is no opposite reaction in the form of recoil. Gas is easily expelled through the barrel with ease, no obstructions. When there is a mass having to be pushed, therefor making it hard to get out, you feel the opposite reaction of the gun kicking back into your hand as a force.

you crazy? first of all it wont even load inside the chamber and even with modification youd kill your barrel
It would not fit. Even with heavy modifications you'll blow the gun and your hand up. Probably also send shrapnel into your face too. It's dangerous, illegal, and dumb so don't try it. You will regret it.

It's not an exact replica of any real firearm, but it resembles a Walther PPK.
It's a combination of a german Walther PPK and a russian Makarov.

gamingdude 2905 no you moron.. not unless u push it against someone’s head and shoot it.. and even then, the force from the gas still might not do it.
It absolutely can, and quite likely will if you fire it right up against someone’s head. DO NOT shoot anyone with it. The force of the gas, heat and pressure coming out of the end WILL do significant damage to any part of your body at close range. I suggest keeping the barrel at minimum a metre away from any object whatsoever, and far far away from any person or animal.
