    Good video. Sometimes all it takes is a couple good whacks with a hammer right where the balls sits to loosen it up. But should definitely be taken apart and cleaned frequently

    Thanks Colin my spray stopped mid job so I rand the paint shop straight away for a new pump. Thank god they didn’t have one so I searched you tube, found your video followed your first step and I’m back spraying in 2 min.

    Bad news you’ll have to come to Australia for it (at least the beer is cold here)

    Some info for anyone with this problem: I had a Q-Tech QP-019 not prime - the bearing was fine! After a couple of days of head scratching and some research I found an article where someone recommended hooking the intake pipe to the water mains. That worked for me and after a few tries priming with increased intake pressure, a blockage blew out of the machine. I didn't have the spray hose hooked up in readiness for any junk coming out.

    Lacquer thinner then mineral spirits will keep the pump clean as a whistle

      @deadsypadilla Před 2 lety

      It will eat the seals..use pump armor blue on Amazon. Do not buy from local dealers. It's 75% cheaper and you can buy whole parts, instead of a rubber grommet.

    I just repacked my Graco 395st but it won't prime. I followed the instructions meticulously. This is the 3rd time I've repacked it in 20 yrs and I have tons of pictures and notes so I know what I'm doing. It's got a new piston too. The cylinder is in good shape. Hoses are clear, no obstructions. Wacking it with hammer didn't help. Any ideas?

    I will share my secret with you,never let the gun go dry,always keep the pickup,tips, ,handpiece and outlet in water,if the water goes off, drop some chlorine in it. The only time I've had trouble is when I take the gun in to the shop and it dries inside.

    • @camdecorations9779
      @camdecorations9779  Před 5 lety

      Thanks for that I've brought a new gun and I've only just put it on. It's been without a gun now for 3 weeks . Nice one , man I should of thought of that.

    • @erikgriswold5273
      @erikgriswold5273 Před 4 lety +2

      If you keep your gun in water too long it can dry out the pin and spring inside. This can cause the gun spit or not stop spraying when you release the trigger. An easy way to avoid/fix this is just remove the threaded cover on the back of the gun and squirt some throat seal on the spring and the pin inside the gun.

    Hi mate love your videos. Can i ask when your switching from undercoat to finish coat do you have to flush the sprayer with water as in clean it first or can you just pop the suction hose into the new paint and run untill all undercoat is gone and top coat comes through? . Sorry mate probably really basic question but im new to this thank you for helping me.

    • @camdecorations9779
      @camdecorations9779  Před 3 lety

      Hello mick the best way I've found when swapping from one material to the next is to flush the paint out with water and as soon as you see water coming out of the prime tube , turn pressure down then swap over the paint and flush the water out until the paint comes through. What your doing is by flushing it out with a bit of water is so you don't get the two materials mixing when you first spray . Thanks for watching mate 👍🏾

    if it still wont prime after cleaning, I have found if you put it in prime, poke a garden hose up the suction end and turn it on,
    it forces it to prime , had to do this with my 595, not sure what happened but its been fine since.

    Hi colin like your videos mate. I have been decorating for years and decided to get a sprayer .
    I have got a graco 390 and I like your tip about getting a different gun for it .. I got a house coming up to spray and the customer has picked all dulux paint . What can I do to make sure it goes through better ... and what are good tips I should defo get .
    Thanks mark

    • @camdecorations9779
      @camdecorations9779  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello Marco if its a house with furniture and carpets, I would go with the Warner hea tips , you can spray the walls and ceilings between 1400 - 1800 psi which Is great on limiting overspray .with the hea tips you will need to get the wagner spray guard. Spraying woodwork I would use the graco fflp tips 310 . You can use those at around 800 to 1400 psi

    • @camdecorations9779
      @camdecorations9779  Před 3 lety +1

      With dulux paints they are very harsh on the spray tips and the finish is not the smoothest. I found that you need to mix it at 3 litres or 2 and a half litres of water to 10 liters of paint. Very thick paint not great to spray not good to mix and as I said before very harsh on your spray tips. Next time try and talk your customers out of using dulux to spray with. Crown or tikkerilla anti reflex 2 emulsion is great to spray with

    Im trying to figure out what is causing my 390 to not maintain pressure. It will prime but after like 7 seconds of spraying it will take forever to rebuild the pressure. I have new filters, ive totally cleaned the ball out and i have a new rock guard or inlet filter. Cant afford to bring it to a shop right now either... ugh, if anyone has any ideas...

    • @camdecorations9779

      A drop in pressure usually means you have leaking seals so you will need to change your pump put a new one in and service your old pump so you've got it as spare
