Alec Hofert He's an artist, you know? He's allowed to write about whatever he wants to wax poetic about. You can't ask certain artists not to paint violent depictions of anything just because you think it glorifies violence, but a lot of people don't understand that. This is a really good song.

He's singing about his experiences growing up. He's not always going to sing about the good things that happened to him, there will be hurt too. I'm not saying it's good for him to sing about songs getting high, but it's HIS experiences. Remember when he said that he is writing songs for himself not for anybody else. We made an image of him in our minds and not the other way around. Actually, instead of making me convinced to take drugs, I feel the urge to actually help someone who maybe fighting depression and succumbing to drug usage. Sarah, smoke inhalation of weed can cause lung damage...not everyone, but some. Bronchitis is a risk. If you're pro-marijuana consumption, there are other forms of it. Even the pot smokers on here have acknowledged that vaping is better for you. I don't think all the commenters are anti-weed...just cautious about smoke lung inhalation. It burns for a reason. :)
trakat77 provide a reliable research that supports that view and come back here to say smoking weed in its purest form causes lung damage! because from the research i have done and trust me i've done a lot of it, there are many studies showing no lung damage... :) vaping is in fact acknowledged to be better however there is no evidence saying smoking it PURE is bad for you... by pure i mean mixing tobacco with it...
+Deviljin112 Bronchitis has been proven. It's up to you to look it up. Cannabis is my drug of choice and joints are my favorite way of ingesting, but I'm aware of its risks.

Love him and the song is extremely catchy, but I'm disappointed. Ed needs to lay off the alcohol and weed. Seems like he's getting a little too caught up in the things that could lead to his downfall. I'm not a fan of glorifying drugs through music, but I also just hope he takes better care of himself, including cutting out the smoking. Ed is an absolute gift to music. Hoping he's able to share that gift with us for years to come.
Marijuana is not harmless in that it is still damaging to the lungs. It contains many of the same toxins and carcinogens as tobacco smoke and can lead to acute bronchitis. Coupled with being a chronic smoker and you have some very unhealthy lungs. Whatever your stance on marijuana use, you can't claim that it's harmless because that has been medically proven untrue.

i love how he sings about the "red lights" because in amsterdam (where i live) you have a special area called the red light district and it basically a district full of prostitutes and all the lights are red there because its a prostitue area so if he saw the red lights...yeah😂
