Odyssessus, you litterally did the equivalent of walking into someones house and kill their favorite pet- what part of that says PEACE?

No, he didn't. He was directed to a place to hunt for food by a group of locals. It's a cave with a collection of presumably wild animals, not an obvious house with a collared pet.
@@Lanternman2814 that's still exactly what he did, sheep don't naturally flock in caves. It would have still been obvious someone owned the sheep. They still went to someone else's property killed one of their sheep. Then fucking poisoned him with their second attempt at peace.

The reason cyclops smiled is cause odysious made a HUUUGE mistake by saying his name giving the cyclpose ammo for revenge……also,he has the nerve to,talk to a goddess that way
FACTS! I understand people siding with Odysseus at first with 'My Goodbye,' but eventually they realize (or at least I did) that Athena was right and everything after this is 100% Odysseus's fault
@carlycchapman honestly they were both wrong. Odyssey was absolutely at fault and was being stupid but like… he was grieving and Athena DEFINITELY did not help
@@carlycchapmanThat’s the thing, she really wasn’t. He was ready to just leave without another word but then Athena came and said, “No stop you’re doing it wrong” and got him riled up.
To be fair, Polites asked where they could find food and the Lotus Eaters gave him an answer; one even saying "scary cave"
“You’re not looking for a mentor, I’m not looking for a friend!” God that’s horrible. He just lost his best friend and she comes in like a god does and is like “no feelings here!” Sheesh!

Small note and fun fact: It is heavily implied in every rendition of The Odyssey that Polyphemus is basically the baby of the cyclopses. So that’s why he gets so mad about the sheep and says things like “For your gift you’ll die last” and believed his name was “Nobody”.
Edit: It’s also why the other cyclopses have deeper voices and speak to him in the manner of “If there’s no problem then stop crying” and he calls to them with the “Don’t go!”
And Polyphemus was probably, like, 10-12 feet tall, I can only imagine how tall the other Cyclopes were. 😰

I love that you keep calling when they should be worried about something. So many people are like "Oh the lotus eatsrs are so helpful" and you immediately were "I don't trust them."
Same with the cyclops at the end. So many people think Odysseus is having a badass moment and you are like "This isn't over."
I won't spoil anything but you have great instincts so far about when people should be worried.
If you go back and listen some of the lotus eaters did say "Scary cave" and another thing to remember is that the Lotus eaters barely remember things before eating the Lotus.
It's called The Cyclops Saga so yes, that's a Cyclops, but it's Mircsy's version of one, so they took some design liberties. 😊

For the Ocean Saga songs Keep Your Friends Close and Ruthlessness I recommend Gigi since their animatics flow into each other smoothly and are absolutely gorgeous! Love your reactions!!

The other really popular animatic for Ruthlessness is really good as well cause it shows off a little known thing about Greek mythology I can't explain cause spoilers
Ruthlessness is one of the first songs that the fandom is completely split over which animatic is better. Honestly you can’t go wrong, but I recommend watching both. Maybe watch gigis first and do another animatic for aniflamma

I've seen this animatic numerous times and only noticed at 6:22 that the Lotus Eater holds its arms out for Odysseus as he leads the charge for Polyphemus 😢.
All of act 1 for Epic is out:
Trojan
Cyclops
Ocean
Circe
Underworld
The albums are in that order, the start of Act 2 some predict will come out either in late June or probably closer to fall
Considering most of the sagas came out on a special day I suspect the next saga will come out on July 4th or some other summer holiday. But that’s just a theory. A epic theory!

For the Ocean Saga, I cannot recommend the Ruthlessness animatic by AnniFlamma enough. It's phenomenal!
For the ocean saga I recommend Gigi for Keep Your Friends close and Aniflamma for ruthlessness. Gigi has a good Ruthlessness too that flows well from their keep your friends close. In my opinion anniflamma's is the best one for that and just hits different, but you still can't go wrong with Gigis.
Whichever one you react to I recommend you look at the other one on your own after, because they're both really good.
Most people react to Anniflamma's so reacting to Gigi's would set your reaction apart some, but there's also a reason most people react to that one. It's just that good.

If they ever do a stage/live action/animated show of this, they NEED to have Odysseus wrap Polites' headband around his arm. Could you imagine if fans came into the theater with headbands ready, wrapped them around their arms like him, he comes up center stage, and we all throw our fists up together and sing, "Remember them!" That would be absolutely amazing!

For Luck Runs Out I recommend TJ Make’s animatic! There are only two animatics for this song out there that I know of. In my opinion this one fits visually with the story a little better. You can watch the other one too (it’s still good!) just maybe this one first!
Seconding this. The audio quality isn't as good but the other animatic is basically the creators own interpretation of the song and doesn't necessarily reflect what's actually going on in the song.
Most reactors end up really confused by the song and missing context and misinterpreting how the characters are feeling because of watching the one by lampyrcy.
Definitely give it a watch after the TJ make one though, both for the higher audio quality and because they do have a lot of talent.
If you do watch the lampyrcy one, just know that Odysseus isn't as, I guess I'd call it innocently happy or as emotional as he seems in the animatic. They go for a more fantasy anime esque style which includes some stylistically exaggerated emotions. Their interpretation of him is kind of an old style "UwU anime softboi" a la 2010s and it makes for an interesting (and for me kind of nostalgic) interpretation but definitely can feel tonally off from what the songs intention seems to be.
There's also not actually romantic tension in the song, and in the song the backing vocals are supposed to be the crew. The animatic make it look like the two main singers are alone but they aren't, which is extremely important context for the song.
For some reason I can't find the one you mentioned, I'd love to check it out

Just a warning it does use the unfinished audio so I'd recommend listening to the finished song first if you haven't, but it's worth checking out.

This series on Epic is new to me (listened to the 'whole' musical but new to the channel) and I just love this person's (idk their preference) is just so enamored with the story and music that they just want to keep listening. It's such a simple thing but I love it, it really makes you feel like you're listening with a friend and you're just waiting for the big moments just so you can see your friend's reaction.
10/10 reaction, can't wait for you to get to one song in Ocean Saga, another in Circe saga (shades man rocks it), and just the Underworld Saga in general.

Ohhhh my god, amazing reactions! 👏 unrelated, but your hair is gorgeous.
To answer your question about the creature being the devil in the first animatic, the artist chose to draw the cyclops in a way that calls back to the fact Polyphemus is the son of Poseidon, the god of the ocean, but also the god of horses among other things, hence the hooved feet.
Odysseus made a huge mistake by doxxing himself, by letting the cyclops live, and there will be consequences to this.
