@@alkomusios5740 Okay yeah, but that's what artists do, they change their style. 22, A Million was a radical change for sure, but that was kind of the point of it - to alienate. And these two new tracks sound like yet another change.

i feel like 22 a mil kind of tarnished his legacy. I loved it (def my least favorite of his) and the fans loved it but it was so different from the folk sound that people knew him for.

I haven't stopped listening to Hey, Ma since it's came out. Literally 5-10 times a day. It just fits something perfect for me. Idk, the 'I was sitting outside, I was tokin' on dope' just does something for me in the delivery. It's not that groundbreaking or interesting but I just quite like it because it's 22 a million + old bon iver

hey ma is definitely better ahh but overall i really appreciate bon iver's work on for emma, for ever ago the most. in my opinion his humble and "not trying too hard to be groundbreaking and inventive" work is where he shines most.

I quite like U but I agree that it is more of an interlude than a track. I really like how it puts folksy americana in a 2019 context that is kind of thrown together and loose.

U(Man Like) is my like new favorite song and its a little disappointing you didn’t like it as much as i expected. it may just be that you don’t like his style and what he’s going for but from his eyes and those who understand it, i think it is super enjoyable.

This is a pretty solid review, and I have pretty much the same sentiments. Not a huge fan of 22 a million. Love a few of the songs, but not really solid as a complete album. Just a little lackluster and was just expecting more after the Heavenly Father single. Really love Hey Ma, very similar in my opinion.
Everytime, EVERYTIME I love an album or a track The Melon comes and says "nah, strong 5". Dude...

Not gonna lie, I didn't enjoy either of these tracks too much either. Then again, I consider 22, A Million to be an absolute masterpiece, my expectations might've been really high, but compared to the astonishing experimentation going on in there these were meh at best.
