I swear, if this game was a movie instead of a game, it would probably be considered one of the best gangster movies of all time
Just my opinion, this game remind me of goodfellas because he joins a family in the movie but he joined when he was young. but at the end the main character snitches just like tommy. the game can put certain things to make the story perfect because its fiction as the movie is based off a true story.
For me its between this n gta5 as the 2 best game to movies that never happened
@@gamingwithsnoop937 I think mafia was inspired from Goodfellas and godfather etc
Would've been better if it was directed by Quentin Tarantino.
True!
The cars from 1930 - 1960 looked like what people back in those days thought what cars from the future are gonna look like
But they nice
I know
@@oldchannel8904 what? The everyday automobile looked like the future car in the same year as the everyday automobile, so a model t in 1931 looked like a futuristic car in 1931? What are you saying..
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar no, I’m saying that a car from 1931 looks like what people THOUGHT cares from the future would look like
Streamline art model huh?
I love the detail that Tommy only kills sam after he mentions Paulie, making Tom remember how Sam killed his own best friend for money and his own selfish gain
I commented this cause i thought nobody said it yet hehe, just a very powerful small moment in a script full of many
Was it for his own gain, though?
@@Aivottajahe was too scared to betray Salieri who after Morello's death became the strongest Don in Lost Heaven.
Atleast tommy wasnt killed by Tommy Gun
Tommy killed by Tommy
Maybe he could've been killed by Tommy Vercetti
How about Thomas The Dank Engine Killing Thomas Angelo
would've been ironic but we got a double-barrel instead
Tommy got killed by tommy who was using a tommy gun
I love how in this version Tommy sounds so much more confident and accepting when he says yes just before he’s shot. It’s like he already knows what is about to happen, and has been satisfied with the time he’s had, and is ok with moving on. Just a really nice touch in the voice actors part. I remember in the old version he said yes like he was confused or asking a question.
the way he throws the hose, its like he knows it doesnt matter any more.
@@drewinsur7321 it don't mattah. none a dis mattahs.
Yeah I loved how the remaster showed that Tommy was pretty much just waiting for it. He knew that it would rather be him and not his family. Even reasuring them that everything was fine.
Tommy does know they came to kill him because he and his family were given new names in witness protection. No-one in Empire Bay knows him as Mr. Angelo. So he knew it was someone who knows his real identity and therefore came for his life.
exactly like who would he think it was
The original Tommy death was pretty sad... but this is way sadder in my opinion.
Indeed
Deleted scenes type beat
It was sadder because his family watched him bleed
I think this is more like "acceptable" because Tommy finally make his Family save and he knew he was going to die soon

I remember playing this game on my PS2 15 years ago and I couldn't get past the race mission. I'm definitely getting this game. Update: I got the game a few days ago and I won the race. After 15 years I’ve been vindicated.
It’s a great game bro
It’s so good
Its better 10x times than mafia 3
@@abdouu5300 well obviously
The fairplay and visiting rich people make me almost unfinish the game, because 15 years ago i don't understand english language, so i don't know what the objective is
Paulie's death was the hardest for me to accept, he overall was always loyal to Tommy, sociable and very funny. He dreamed of being as successful as anyone. Paulie did not deserve to die alone. A 40-year-old single man with no children, no future, no hope, no dream. Sad that Sam is the one who murdered Paulie, his good friend who trusted him
At least he died a quick death and was probably happy to see Sam visit him at his house
I thought the same he was one of the best characters in the game
I was so eager to kill sam
That's just how it is
You join the mafia you know the consequences
You feel bad for bloodthirsty mafia hitmen? What is wrong with your brain?
Its incredible writing that as soon as sam mentions paulies name tommy pulled the trigger, he almost let sam go because they were friends but realised that sam truly had no loyalty to anyone but the don
I honestly don't think Sam was loyal to anyone. He is a greedy and selfish kiss-ass who only did something if it benefited him. He definitely would betray Don Salieri if something is in it for him. He just needed the right reason and situation to do it.
For people who are wondering, Tommy possibly looked shocked in the original because while he was under protection, only 3 groups knew his real identity. The Government who gave him a new life, the mobsters who were jailed, and his family. I thought in the original , that when Vito asks "Mr Angelo?", he might of thought it was a government agent possibly trying to talk to him, then when the lupara is raised he then knows, in that split second, it was a hit. This version makes it look like he knew he was screwed the moment his real name was mentioned. Just a thought.
Yeah, personally also think it makes more sense he knew what would happen. Officials ain't that sloppy.
He knew that since frank got caught in europe the mob could also find him so he knew he was dead he just wanted his family safe
The government agents more than likely wouldn't of known his real name for protection reason's
Tommy angelo knew he would be dead anyway as the only way to leave was to die. Tommy was all about saving and keeping his family safe.
I thought that too. Probably got too comfortable with his new life, let his guard down, and confused them for some fbi guys working undercover.
the old guy who died in the restaraunt was kinda sad. He looked like a nice guy
@FagOftheforest fucking waht?
@FagOftheforest wait what
@FagOftheforest Ayo what?
@FagOftheforest bro what the fuck are you saying?
Pepe survived, the bartender died.
It’s kinda cool that Tommy Angelo and Arthur Morgan from RDR2 share the same aspect;
Especially at 13:30 when Tommy looked at the guys dead body and suddenly comes to realize that the Don is crazy killing people like that in cold blood.
The same way for Arthur when he gave Dutch a concerned look behind his back when he drowned Angelo Bronte. Cold blooded.
Tommy is like that more than Arthur, cuz Arthur's grown in a gang, but Tommy used to be a simple taxi driver.
your Arthur, maybe
Really? In the remake he really wanted to kill the prostitute and only because Sam told him him not to do it, he spared her life.. and in the scene with Frank he was more willing to kill him than in the original
@@wes8723 that's ain't true. He wasn't happy about it neither, he just acted cold because he was supposed to scare the fuck out of her. It's like the ending where he couldn't finish of Sam directly or those bandits in the wrecked car that eventually Paulie had to shoot. Tommy shows his human side just as much as the original if not even more here. Like that scene where Paulie was about to shoot that civilian lady Sergio was holding hostage but Tommy stopped him.
I say Tommy is more similar to John in that they see the gang going downhill, John saw it as early as chapter 2 in RDR2, they both got betrayed by their gang member, Tommy's close friend, Paulie died and John's closest friend in the gang, Arthur died too. They both killed their former gang member, they both were protecting their family and working for the government.
It's funny how Salieri mocked Morello for not being able to control his anger only to see how he slowly becomes exactly like Morello. Quick to anger and faster to even betray his own friends. People that he sits down with and has dinner and drinks with on a regular basis and just gives it all up for more money even though he owned that whole city. Paulie's and Sam's deaths hurt me, but it also hurt that Salieri betrayed them just as much as he betrayed himself.
And that's what became his undoing. Tommy before he died, provided the authority with more than enough info to give him lifetime, send many of his henchmen to the chair, and see his Empire taken over by someone else. True, he killed Tommy, but that was only a petty tantrum from a man that was wrecked by his own petty greed
@@GM-kp7yw Morello was a short tempered man who rules by fear, but he made no pretenses about it.
as Sam said during the mission to kill Morello about Salieri, "he'll buy himself a nice white suit"
When morello died he became like that for no reason like he had no motivation to piss no one else off so he got easily angry
Salieri was already like that a long time ago. Remember the story about him killing Frank's dog?
Honestly, poor Paulie. I played the original so i knew what was coming, but they made it so sad that it's gut wrenching...
Your right i almost cried cuz of it

10:15 If you ever get a chance to own a restaurant in the 1930s..... fucking don’t
Yeah best bet is to bail when a mob boss enters.
It is very dangerous. I remember my parents in the 90s Yugoslavia said resturants would explode because one mafia leader happen to be in that restaurant, but then again those were exceptionally horrible times.
You can tell why Sam betrayed Tom. In the cutscenes Tommy hesitates to kill.
Although being the best gunman in gameplay
@@nicoffee777 I mean he was still the best gunman in cutscenes too. He was referred by Sam and Paulie. The top Salieri Guys to be a better shot than them.

Why couldn’t Mafia 2: Definitive Edition look like this?
Seriously!! With added side missions and places to go
@@carpenter155 I couldn’t give two shits about more side missions. The game is hardly open world anyways. The only missions you can do are the story missions.
@@alenmack3471 that’s why I’m saying more places to go! Open that bitch up!!! Mafia 2 is a good game that should be great if the powers at be would just allow it to be! And then they both die at the end it’s poetic justice
19:09 this scene made my mouth drop

27:50 Tommy put 3 shots in a row on Sam merciless when he heard Paulie. He got Paulie's revenge, that was awesome that he showed all of us how he really was loyal to Paulie.
R.I.P. Paulie Lombardo. 😔😔😔
Paulie could just be loyal and Paulie and tommy could kill salieri
If this happened tommy Paulie and Sam would never die
And Tommy throws his gun on Sam's body, which could mean that he finished with crime
Tommy also puts 2 in Sam's head. Doing it the way they're supposed to.
@@boom6143 Sure, killing the leader of the most powerful Mafia in town is as easy as that. Even if they could they would have been hunted later.
@@mateuszstrzaek632that wasn't a good move, one of the goons could have survived and killed him
Tommy may have lived a life of crime but unlike some folk he still had a set of principles, no women and children are to be harmed. He wanted to leave the life for Sarah and his family. Sparing Michelle. The sequence from the car bomb to the waitress showed that. The bomb was an accident but he redeemed himself by protecting the waitress from Paulie.

From what I’m seeing Mafia Definitive Edition is worth the price
When I was 16 I visited for the first time Vienna. With my class. We visited the the museum of historical arts.
I and I thought: Hey, I know this place!
Turned out that the Museum in Vienna was taken as example for the final shootout scene in Mafia I. Seems like the original Czech Devs made a few trips to neighbouring Austria.
Crazy thing to visit a place I shot up a few weeks earlier.
