    Having literally just arrived from the Warwick Bass camp in Germany, I'm already getting ready to hit the road again with Juliette Lewis. While I have some brief time back at home, I wanted to walk you guys through how I build a tour friendly board.
    This video was shot by Juan Alderete and Nick Reinhart and edited by Scott Ward for Vato Negro Productions.

    Sweet tones. Cool battery. Be interesting to know how that works out on the road, great concept. Just starting running the Phil Jones 2x4 off a laptop battery, it's really fun to be mobile. If that doodad does it we can be anywhere to play, no mains needed, nice freedom to have.

    I saw those flat cables from EBS before Warwick made em, but the idea is nonetheless brilliant! Love mine, basically made me fit 2-3 pedals extra on my board!

      GurktheBrutal where did you order your patch cables from? I can't seem to find any inside the United States...

      I'm not from the US, sorry. Just got them in store from the largest Swedish music chain around.

      GurktheBrutal awesome, I just found some EBS ones that are made the same way that I'm just gonna roll with. Thanks for the feedback.

      @ainsbass Před 7 lety

      Yeah the EBS ones are great. Freed up so much space on my board, and they look sleeker than some big silver things or, God forbid, different coloured patch cable....

    does anyone have any ideas of ways to split bass signals? also I wanted to get my D.O.D on a separate mix to the sound guy so I can really rumble the place... does this make sense or is it even possible? any and all help is appreciated 😊😊😊

    • @ainsbass
      @ainsbass Před 8 lety +2

      Some pedals have multiple outputs, or you could perhaps look at something like a Boss LS-2 to split your signal.

    • @skatterpro
      @skatterpro Před 7 lety +1

      Both the Tech 21 SansAmp Para Driver and the Darkglass B7K (or any of their other larger pedals I think) are absolutely LOVED by anyone I've ever heard mention them! The bassist of my band has a B7K, although he basically only uses it as preamp/drive pedal or for DI when recording. Both are capable of splitting your signal.

    • @Corvid
      @Corvid Před 2 lety

      I use the Radial Switchbone V2, nothing beats a dedicated splitter! The Switchbone splits the signal 3 ways, and I use mine to run a Chris Wolstenholme style three amp rig (i.e. something like one clean amp, and two fuzz or distortion pedals). With a DI before, the clean path handles getting a nice coloured "amp" sound (backed up by the DI compressed/EQed/processed to death if possible) I can dial in exactly the tone that works with fuzz/distortion without having to think about the low end at all (which is mostly highpassed out anyway). I love being able to dial in the right level of articulation for each chain, particularly with something like a gated fuzz. Layer that with a nice clanky distortion, job done! The channels don't necessarily sound all that good soloed, but they reinforce each other when running together :)
