do the rain guards need to come off for track days? and if yes, will it cause problems for mesh? like flying off?..
Not sure since it has never been tracked. I would imagine no issues for mesh flying off

Yea black would be nicer but varus all comes with silver mesh grills. If you want black, you would have to spray paint it yourself
We need a compare between weight the manufacturer hood vs carbon fiber hood ..
I don't have an exact weight comparison but with the oem metal hood, I needed a second person to help me carry it. If I carried it myself, it was pretty heavy. Dog the carbon fiber hood, I could easily carry it myself
Do you need the screws / bolts? Mine didn’t come with that
We reused them from the OEM hood
@@TheJMedia makes sense thank you. Did the vent pieces ever come off? Mine came pre installed but seem super brittle…. I hope we can order additional vents if it gets to that point
@Chris-qc3uy They never came off. The vents aren't installed "properly" since most people take them out before painting which we did. I would recommend having the vents re-put on firmly
Do you need hood pins with this hood?
Did not use hood pins and have been fine for over a year. I have had an aftermarket hood on another car for over 5 years and have been fine without them too.
Is the bottom side of the hood made of plastic or aluminum? Is it well supported underneath? How’s the quality of the carbon fiber and the workmanship of the hood? Are there any imperfections? Sorry for all the questions but this is the hood I want for my Supra too but I plan to paint match the hood and only leave certain parts visible carbon fiber so that it matches the car better. Hey, all great questions! Good fitment and nice carbon fiber weave with no imperfections. Also has good thick clear coat on it. I've had other Varis products and they never disappoint. Only thing is since they are from Japan, shipping could take a few months unless a company stateside already has them. I believe the underneath is aluminum. About half the weight of the stock supra hood. The supra is now wrapped a different color and parts of the carbon hood is matched to the color of the car and only some carbon accents showing. Stay tuned for that upcoming video!

Nice video! How did you remove the rubber cushions from the hood?
Thank you! I think they were twist off or pop off. I don't remember but they came off fairly easily

Thank you! Have had the hood on the car for over a year and no issues with dirt getting in. When it rains, a little water does get in but not bad and doesn't affect anything under the hood

I dont like the carbon fiber on the supra. It looks like it's been crash and you got a replacement hood on it. The 2 different colors dont go together. But I do like it on the lancer
Yes I see what you mean that the color contrast is pretty big on the Supra. There are plans to either paint color match it white and leave the vents in carbon fiber to look more clean or just wrap the whole car a different color

Great question! Water doesn't go in and hurt the engine. I've had a vented hood on my car for 5 years now with no issues

@@TheJMedia I just purchased mine today and was lucky as it was in stock at Bulletproof Automotive . It’s the final piece of the puzzle. I had everything else but the cooling bonnet. I was fortunate to have everything ready in stock when I made the purchases.
