  • In this video we will be doing a detailed comparison of Iceland vs Norway to help you choose the country you would like to visit first. They are both incredible countries with some of the most amazing landscapes you will see anywhere in the world. They are also very expensive to visit so it is important that you get the best value for your time and money.
    Norway and Iceland are both easy countries to travel around on a summer vacation, with tourist friendly roads, great infrastructure, and plenty of hotel options. We look at this, and more, in a detailed comparison of the travel experience between each country.

    Awesome comparison; I agree with you 100%. I went to Iceland in July 2021 and to Norway the same week in July 2022...I love both places and hope to go back to both.

      Thanks for watching, and glad you liked it :-) Very hard to choose, but we are likely going back Iceland in Jul-23 and doing the northern side of the country we missed last time. The north of Norway will have to wait a bit longer.

      @@theslowtraveler2047 Make sure you get to Studlagil (maybe my favorite place in Iceland if that is possible at all) and the east part. A little southeast of there is the town of Seyðisfjörður (make sure you dine at Hotel Aldan) (this is also where The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was filmed) and Svartifoss..... If you get to the Westfjords, please see Dynjandi waterfall and Rauðisandur red sand beach.(I felt like I was on another planet). Btw, I perused your main CZcams page and you have the exact same interest in places that I do. I went to Naples and the Amalfi coast in September and Switzerland (although I've been) is on track to take my son.

      Hard to escape the wind in some areas! But you will still have an amazing time. We just returned from our second visit to Iceland and it is such an incredible place!

      Can't argue with that. Norway has so much amazing scenery! Especially around the fjords in the west.

    I don't like Norway or iceland both cold and gloomy in summer cold as in you need jackets in summer, 50 Fahrenheit that's it

  • @Snurre99

    Has to be one of the worst recommendations I've seen in a long time! You can't compare little Iceland with Norway! Norway wins 9 out of 10 categories for me. Iceland is a beautiful small but windswept country, while Norway is gigantic in comparison. This is like comparing Luxenburg to Switzerland... Sorry, but this was a lousy YT video.
    Norway has the world's second longest coastline, which you can drive by car, plane or boat. Driving around Iceland does not take many hours. Norway has 43 airports. Iceland has 2.
    While the weather along the coast in Norway can be humid and unstable, Norway also has an inland climate in the southeast which has very much more stable weather, especially much more stable than Iceland.
    You can experience Iceland in a weekend, but to experience Norway you probably have to spend several weeks...Many people like me have spent years and never get bored! We return year after year.
    Since you are so concerned about the economy on your trips, you should perhaps count on the expensive flight to Iceland compared to Norway.
    Who would have thought that I am a huge fan of Iceland and their people! Love Island!

      @theslowtraveler2047  Před rokem

      There is merit to most of your points. That is the subjective beauty of travel :-) A weekend to see Iceland is a stretch though, 2-3 weeks maybe. And I am certain that Norway has more diversity.

      It's not a lousy video. It's a comparison for ppl considering 1-2 weeks vacation in either country. For ppl outside (like me) they feel comparable due to scenary and location. Ofc it's not a video on where to settle.
