- We start this episode as we move on from Littlehampton to Arundel to find a park up for the night.
The following morning we go for a chilly walk at Swanbourne Lake before heading into Arundel to look around the shops.
We find an usual park up for a late breakfast before moving on to Amberley.
Our plan for a nice walk along the river is soon scuppered so we decide to head home.

Arundel castle has a history of hardly ever being open. I remember being taken there several times as a child & never seeing inside. However we did hire a motorboat & had a nice little trip on the river.
Itâs true, most of the times we have been there itâs been shut. We have been in once many years ago and itâs worth it đđ

Arundel is lovely. Only been a couple of times but I do love the castle and their lovely gardens. I also had a lovely ice cream in the town and a quick walk along the river. Beautiful countryside too

For the dog poop dilemma, I would recommend the âpaw buddyâ which is a squeezey bottle with a brush on one end which you can fill with warm or soapy water. Itâs ideal for both dog paws and shoes. We take it in our van :)

Hi carol and ken, glad to see another vlog from you again. In northern Ireland we have an award winning butchers like this one in Moira co armagh and people come from all over to get McCartneys meats. We are in the đșđž usa and bought a ridge monkey simular type on amazon usa. It was too small so went on Amazon UK and payed for the. Real ridge monkey and love it
The shipping was steepish but I'm glad we got it. Thank you Ken for the recommendation.
We also sprung for the omnia and plan to make a pineapple upside-down cake in it. Both not essential but I enjoy gadgets

Regarding how to manage a step in dog poo, we use hydrogen peroxide undiluted to rinse it off. It denatures the proteins and eliminates odors. Itâs also found everywhere and is inexpensive, less than a dollar or so.
Thatâs an interesting solution we have not heard of before. Thanks for the tip đđ

As I was watching the beginning of the video the car park looked so familiar then you drove up the hill and I knew it was Arundel! I lived there a few years back, love the town and especially the super friendly locals who became close friends. Scotch eggs pies and cheese all my favourite things - those places just get me every time - also like the crafty pork pie but then that bloody cake shop âŠ. We are going to put weight on our next trip

Hello Ken / Carol I really enjoyed this one lots to see loved the butcher's shop you never see them like that in Canada ,too bad the bakery was not open all looks so good :) Ridge Monkey I tried for a long time to find some place that would ship to Canada no luck one of the reasons they told me was because of covid. I was lucky my daughter has just to been back to Scotland and she picked up a large and a medium for me while she was there . I could not find anything to compare with them in Canada or the US. We were in Arundel in 2014, I think. Wonderful Lido, unfortunately had to leave the pool after a short while because of a thunderstorm. We were on a small simple campsite behind the Premiere Inn and the Beefeater restaurant. I don't think it's there anymore.
We have never been to the pool but looks good for when the weather is hot đ
I thought from the title of the video you had breakfast at the prison, as they have a cafe there called Serving Thyme and the breakfasts are meant to be really good.

Wonderful visit to Arundel⊠âquaintly poshâ place indeed. Iâve only ever glimpsed it, and the castle, in the distance as weâve hurtled past en route to Portsmouth, so it was super interesting to see it close up. (My husband has ancestors who were servants in the castleâŠ.absolutely eons ago.)
Watching you cook those sausages, I wondered, how do you cope with the smell of cooking permeating everything?âŠI always wonder how van lifers deal with food pongs in their bedding and clothing and hair.
Hi Wendy. Arundel is well worth stopping off to explore and especially the castle when it is open.
We are never bothered by cooking smells, just make sure the van gets a good airing. We pop the roof up when the weather is nice and try and sleep with the front windows cracked open unless the weather is too bad đ
Don't know if anyone has already mentioned this but Amberly Chalk pit was used in a bond film, A view to a kill. My dad drives us down when it was being filmed.đđ

Great tour around there, ill be getting married in arundel town hall in june, moved from Manchester to now findon valley 5 years ago having met my fiance on the Internet, Arundel is my favorite place to visit

I don't use my RidgeMonkey i hate that the lid is a bit of a faff, i now use NGT Bankside Grill XL its much better i think. love your videos ps. something you may like what i use in my tiny van is a Beach lounger Mat always asked where i got it from mine is made by Crivit

Thank you for the video. Almost my home territory. We use that bakers everytime we are there. Your drone shots were superb, Dare you say where you launched from (the over the town bit). Surprised to see so many people still wearing masks. Great breakfast.
It was the first time we had been in Pallantâs but would definitely shop there again. This video was filmed in mid January when you still had to wear masks in shops in England.

Dog poo........zoflora disinfectant is easy to store, then dilute in small collapsible bucket etc., and use a cheap washing up brush to clean the muck off the shoe.
We have now made up a spray bottle with diluted Zoflora and carry a brush âșïžđ
The Ridge Monkey gear comes up on eBay in Australia so maybe it does in the USA and other places

Just so people know, the Ridgemonkey just arrived in Virginia. I did pay a bit extra for full tracking, and it was fun to watch the progress through the UK and US mail systems and its trip across the pond. Signature was required on this end by the shipper. No damage, all is well. Wife is anxious to try it on our Solo stove.

That was a very good tour around Arundel, where I went to most weekends for the Black Rabbit pub on the riverside. That was the mid 70s and it was nice to see these parts from your perspective. Not much has changed and the town shops give it a nice bygone days atmosphere. Great drone shots again!.

Works a treat, even to clear the windows of our exotic stealth camp in the garage carpark last night. Still no news on Buddy đđ

A couple of interesting facts about Arundel. The far end of Swanbourse lake was the place where the body of murder victim Joan Woodhouse was found in the summer 1948. No one was ever convicted of her murder despite an intensive investigation. Separately, evIdence of WWII anti tank slots can still be seen in the pavement on the north side of the bridge at Queens Street in Arundel. đ€
I didnât know about that murder. I joined 30 years too late for that one. Lots of details about it online and its an interesting story. Thanks for the info đ
