- Its makers call it the world's most trusted military pistol.
And the Beretta 92FS is its latest incarnation, being demonstrated in the video above by Italian soldiers who provide close protection for VIPs.
The US armed forces used the design for many years, only recently replacing it with the SIG Sauer M17.

Got to be honest back in the day I never had a problem with the Browning Hi Power
lots of people do
As far as pistols go, the 92FS is the GOAT. I put it on the same level as the 1911 Colt, Luger or Makarov in terms of how iconic it is.
It was designed by John Moses Browning.
@@jessejames8900 No it wasn't. And if you're referring to it being a recoil-operated pistol, then JMB 'invented' Glocks, USPs, SIG P220-series, etc etc.
It has its pros and cons just like everything else.
Elaborate.
There’s a romance to the 92 I can’t deny 👌🏽🔥
Converted mine to G model, now it is perfect.
Very old pistol now. Was great in lethal weapon though
Absolutely the best nine millimeter pistol ever made.
No. Glock is
@@MrMountain707 That's like comparing a pinto to a Ferrari.
92FS is no Ferrari. Buy a CZ if you want a Ferrari. Glock is like a Toyota Land Cruiser.@@Sandhill1988
Glock is the best at AD’s to the leg 😅
No. Walther PPQ is.
The 92fs is most definitely not it's latest incarnation, The "fs" model is decades old, newer models are the 92xi & 92gts.
you mean the 92x and the m9A4.
@@lsruler those models are contemporary to the 92xi, the 92gts is slightly newer.
@@lsruler I'm still upset that they're no longer selling the 92d lol.
@@Beardman770 I'm upset that they don't sell the brigadier model anymore
My most favorite pistol
Cz 75 , l didnt say , jeff cooper said that.
Hated to give up my 1911 for it but as much as I wanted to hate it, it was a good pistol. Did everything it was supposed to do and was much more accurate as far as GI issued pistols went.
35 years of proven performance with the U.S. Army. Can handle 9MM +P+. It takes practice to effectively place you Double Action shot on a one inch diameter target.
Reliability: IMPECCABLE!
Great video.
Reliability impeccable?!?! Are you talking about the M9?? Because I carried them in the service and I have to be honest, I have a very very low opinion of them. Every one I carried had massive reliability problems, including the brand new one I was issues *including after a break in period. I even purchased my own mags to try to see if the problem was the GI issued mags, it wasn't. They are smooth shooting, but anything but reliable.
@@rickyspanish9002
I trained over 26,000 Infantry soldiers and 10,000 DEA Agents on how to use the M9 Beretta in combat. The only M9 malfunctions I saw during my 27 years of military service was caused by messed up magazines.
What I never liked was the 15 pound double action pull and the 7 pound single pull.
Both are way too heavy.
The factory sights also sucked. I recommend modifying both if you every must carry one. Thank you for serving our great nation.
Be blessed.
@@IRONFOX6-fy5se I know the mags were a big problem, especially the non-OEM ones. (Magazine issues are the leading cause to most weapon malfunctions IMO)
I'm surprised you never ran into any other issues in all those years however. I certainly encountered failures to eject and failures to go into battery on the M9s I carried.
I think the trigger pull, especially on SA isn't terrible for a general issue service weapon. Like you said, heavy, but I found them to be fairly smooth. For a seasoned shooter, or for someone carrying one as their primary duty weapon I can absolutely see the advantage of dropping in an enhanced trigger. (I always do for my personal glocks)
I also agree about the sights, but thats something I find true about most factory sights; just as the trigger, I automatically upgrade them..
I also than you for your service to our great country.
@@rickyspanish9002that wasn’t a problem with the gun. That was a problem with the cheap mags the military was buying for a while.
Love my 92X
Great gun.
All pistol are trusted if used properly.

Any one heard the Army v Navy result, asking for a friend
A pistol you can trust your life on
Great pistol, so easy to shoot.
Heavy and not a lot of modern holsters. Mine can't utilize a red dot. That being said, still the smoothest pistol I've ever fired.
For shure one of them but the best ….. it depends!
0:53. Is that one-handed press-check SOP? Or did that Italian soldier watch John Wick...a lot?
A bit of both probably
Utterly reliable?!?!? What Baretta M9 are you talking about? Theyre smooth shooting, but absolute jam-o-matics.
Maybe using the wrong ammunition?
@@jessejames8900 used the ammo the army gave me to use, m882 ball, mfg'd by Winchester, the only authorized ammo to use in them...
Great pistol for certain. The 92FS is not the latest model. The 92 GTS is, I imagine.
I have M9.
Tried one just before the ban and it was ok but newer designs have moved on.....
No super fantastic plastic pistol will ever top it.
It is very good.
at least a titanium firing pin for a pistol i see bigger rifles utilizing tungsten ones in the future
Pistol market price ( ? )
One bull, or two cows
For me m1911a1
Mosin Nagant is a better
I'm more interested in the camouflage uniform than the gun.

Vegetato camo - it's just a copy of Canadian CADPAT with 2 colour changes.
@@eddietat95
thank you!!
@@eddietat95Vegetato is not a copy (it isn't a digital pattern) and has little to no similar colors to the CADPAT
The new 1911, a reliable and new 1911
why was it replaced?
Like everything no reason to just wanted to
politics
Because someone thought they're smarter than John Moses Browning.
Because the m9 is garbage.
In a way, it was since WW2
The soldiers i know hated it. Its life was also short lived. Duty pistol for a cop absolutely. War in the desert or jungle? No its open slide collects all the debris
What soldiers were they?
@@jessejames8900 surely you can tell me the biggest customer who used this platform
Steyr M9-A2?? I love it, but they're rare as hens' teeth ......
Oh no way we going start using beretta
The PX4 is a better Beretta, silencers don't work on it though, not easily anyway.
Beretta makes a striker fired poly gun too, the APX, better overall than the M9.
The m9 is too heavy and too big.
The PX4 is nice, but if you want a great shooter check out the Cougar. Basically a PX4 without any of the polymer components. They're hard to find because no one gets rid of them, one of the smoothest shooting pistols ever.
It pretty much is a copy of the Walther P38.
And what is the Walther a copy of?
Which dictator was killed with this weapon?
Try the 1911A1....
Here come the triggered 1911 fanboys screaming back to back to world war champions
It still couldn't match its reputation with the 1911 🇺🇲 🦅
Worlds most trusted except by the US Navy Seals.
Hahaha exactly!! Kinda telling when your elite troops and private contractors universally don't choose the M9
I was stuck with one of those things when in the Marine Corps. Did not like it at all. Not a good design really, fat grip, and too large.
You have small hands, maybe a .32 ACP?
Good weapon but too bulky and too huge for people of my country.
Munchinland?
Your people must be small.
The mess Webley is the most trusted pistol to get the job done.
...orf you go...
I'm glad to see there is atleast one person in the comments with a gentleman's taste. Chin chin!
*GLOCK enters the chat*
And exits immediately
This isn't the Hi-Power.
Ues, back then Czechoslovakia had one of the best weapon designs in many other products.
But ruski and yanks took it apart in the 80's
Yet didn’t last long in service
Anything firing 9mm FMJ is not to be trusted but, of them, the 92FS stands tall.
cop gun. made to be carried a lot, shot a little. ipsofacto the locking block and slide failuers. TOO heavy for mag capacity..Decocker/safety NOT designed for combat. again COP GUN
So the us army using it for decades? Idiot.
Who uses a pistol in combat? It's a sidearm after all. It's supposed to be carried a lot, shot a little .... if things go as planned, it would never need to be used in anger at all.
Doesn't that make it to many soldiers a completely serviceable and useful weapon
You do know that "the locking block and slide failures" haven't been an issue for close to 40 years, right?
You know it had a low round count before failure and parts replaced
The frame sucks. Grip is too fat (due to double stacking rounds) and slide is too thin, which makes it unbalanced and whimsical to aim down. I'd take a Glock over 92FS.
💯
My uncle told me this story when he was in Iraq, and when they heard shooting, they ducked behind cover, and his M9 holster was swaying around or something because next thing he knew the M9 swung at his balls lol. Everyone thought he had gotten hit, but nah he was alright.
Yeah but it's not... the colt 1911 is the world's most trusted pistol. 2 time world champ and in service for over 110 years.
Yeah but its not.. dont get me wrong, love the 1911, but it has a fair share of issues and there are far superior pistols...
And on service for 110 years? With whom?
@@rickyspanish9002the United States Army
@@jessejames8900 might want to check your math friend. The army phased out the 1911 in the late 80s. I never saw a single person carry one while I served in the 2000s.
Glock is better just saying
Better than what? Hi Point?
Hell no
Utter tosh, clickbait.

The CZ 75 is clearly, clearly far better and you guys know it.
You bought a cheap as chips pistola and dare to mislable the video as the best ?

I guess these Italians never heard of Glock before, still Beretta is a great gun but....
A nice gun. Looks very impressive. How does it compare?
@@alanmcmillan6969
Well out of my own experience.
In the 80's the Swedish Armed Forces tried several guns for a new service gun. In the end it was down to a few like Glock 17, Sig Sauer P225/226, Beretta 92.
Sweden at that time had an abundance of 9 mm called "9/39B" for their submachine guns. The only gun that stood the test and with a guarantee of 50.000 rounds was Glock, the Beretta was simply not up for it.
I can just give an example of guns using the Swedish "9/39B". In Doboj Bosnia in 1996 when I was stationed at the BdeHQ a Danish Major got some of the Swedish 9mm, I do not know how but at the firing range his gun cracked into pieces giving him a nasty injury in the hand when shooting it. Sure he used an old Neuhausen pistol that at the time was Danish service pistol.
In 1997 an American officer used the same ammo in his M9 Beretta. Later he found cracks in the metal and the gun was done.
I've used the Glock 17/ 19 as a service weapon for a good +30 years and so it's a bit unfair maybe for me to say this since I've not used the Beretta 92 for as long. However I have been deployed alongside troops since the 80's to 2014 and used the Glock in every environment there is from arctic to desert and jungle, the Glock is as reliable as it gets.
That's the short essay ;)
Maybe Glok never heard of Bereta! I think Bereta even older as a company
@@Happy-wb8gi
So the older the better? I said it as a joke that they've never heard of Glock but as for the use of Service Weapon Glock surpass Beretta 92 for a reason.
Second and sorry for this but it's "Beretta and Glock"
