I feel like Mac needs to make it Ghost's or Fact checker's responsibility to do the Mashabela Studios live read because he always forgets it now. Loved the show as usual, Sol offloading his wardrobe live on the show had me on the floor and him always wanting to prove his knowledge on how to satisfy women .
I like Makhadzi, rather find other performers if you can't afford her rate.

As a person of African descent, born in America, and wanting to relocate to SA. I have to admit, one of my concerns about SA is that culturally, it appears to have a split personality. One part is very African, Zulu, Xhosa, Khoisan, Tswana, and so on - it is this part that I love. I see Amapiano as the most beautiful expression of the people. However, the other side of SA personality is very Americanized. Honestly, I had this very conversation with my wife today, and it does truly concern me. My hope is that you, the people of SA, do not lose your identity. Please, do not trade in your beautiful, authentic culture for western ideology and goods (like Gucci and Prada). When we, black people, do this, we validate that their way, customs, culture are indeed “civilized,” while ours is less than. They exploit us, profit from our ingenuity, and leave us with nothing. Remember, the world needs us. The west needs us. They need us for culture, food, resources, direction, customs, etc., they need us, and not the other way around.
I say this with love and respect.

It is really difficult for us in SA to change how things have been.
Its like everything is imposed on us because of democracy.
Which then makes things difficult.
For example, there is no place in our culture for things like LGBT+ but if we would take that away now a lot of our people would cry discrimination including our own black people.
The problem is that our economy is still in the hands of those who oppressed us. So if you can control the economy, you get to decide what comes in and out of the country. Hence the "Americanisation" of our societies.
Thats why they usually refer to our country as a free country. Meaning you can associate with any group/ organisation/ culture/religion of your choice.
So the only way to keep our culture not diluted is if we take those kind of rights away, which is close to impossible.
Be that as it may, majority of our people are still rooted in their cultures. And its something that is celebrated.
So I dont think you have to be that concerned. We are still doing okay with all our problems

But that is not whole of south Africa go into the rural places and small towns our african culture still dominates

With regards to the quota system in sports and arts, I feel that Sol and MacG inadvertantly supported the view of most racist institutions. The last rugby world cup we won, mainly because of Makazole Mapimpi...a guy who comes from Mdantsane and had no chance to ever be selected for the national team if it wasn't for policies that forced SARU to incorporate more black people. The quota is there to say "we know white people have always had the advantage because of access to resources and their historical privilege, but now they need to be forced to send the ladder down and give other races the hand up as well so that tomorrow, everyone is on equal footing" If that is not enforced, white people will always choose white people and those skills and opportunitites will never be passed down to black people. That's what the quota system is all about.

Also, even with the quota system being in place we still have the best rugby team in the world, no one is there by charity and everyone kicks ass. So our rugby team is testament to the quota system being done right, brilliantly in fact...even the white people praise the current team
