How do we get the formula to subtract 30 minutes for lunch if over 6 hours are worked?

the hours here are actually incorrect. the hours worked minus half hour lunch break in the first column is not 8.30 it is 8.50

It is correct; 9 hours minus 30 minutes is 8 hours 30 minutes.
