    Great breakdown, man!! 👍 I got my Evolve first, and then the OW a few months later, and I feel like I had a very similar experience. In fact, I kinda disliked the OW on my first ~5 rides. I told my gf that it may have been a mistake to get it...
    Then I started to get a hang of it, and I started to find my preferences (favorite riding mode, later accessories, favorite things to do on it vs an e-skate), and I actually became much more obsessed with the OW than the esk8! Once I got FlightFins I reeeeally got obsessed with it. I just love that feeling of being locked in, and it helps a lot with turning FrontSide especially.
    It was only until I started veeery early experimenting on the esk8 with dancing and little tricks like body varials that I started to get passionate about it again. And I ended up realizing that each board made me a better rider on the other one, and that I had to approach each one from a different angle to find what I loved about them.
    For me, the e-skate is like a racecar or like a longboard surfboard (depending on how I ride it). And the Onewheel is like a snowboard or a jeep wrangler (again, depending on how I ride it). So once I started riding them as such, they both truly clicked for me.
    And yeah, foot fatigue is inteeeense at first, but it 100% goes away. Although accessories like a Kush footpad will immediately improve it.
    As for repairs... yeah I've had to repair both, and they're completely opposite experiences. Evolve wins by orders of magnitude, they've got that dialed in so you can easily and cheaply repair the board.
    Anyway, great to hear your thoughts on them and I can't wait to see how you grow on the OW and what skills you'll later bring over from one board to the other! 😃 Keep up the great work on the vids!! 🙌

      Thanks mate 👍🏻 Some really good points, and great to hear you experience with both boards. Yeah I think those fins would be the price of admission and a worthwhile accessory, I find it pretty hard to keep my feet locked in over rough terrain! Cheers for watching and catch ya soon 🙂

      @RidingWithMau Před 2 lety +1

      @@grizzlykiwi I can relate! 😆 I'm only riding without fins now because I wanna develop my trick skills, but to me, FlightFins 100% offer the best riding experience. And when I'm riding without them, I feel like I'll fall off 😅

    Awesome review man! Just bought an Evolve Hadean as an upgrade from my GTR; Feels more like having a rocket booster under your feet, which is absolutely terrifying in comparison if you're in it for the thrill. Has 4x harder acceleration than the GTRs, which is probably my favourite pro for eskate vs other modes. For spec nerds the Onewheel has a 750w motor vs 6000w on the evolve, which is totally nuts.

    • @grizzlykiwi
      @grizzlykiwi  Před 2 lety +2

      Yeah those are some crazy stats right there. I was sold on Hadean until I saw the price, I didn't own a board at that stage so I couldn't justify it haha. I've been really impressed with the GTR so far, especially given its age now. I'd love to jump on a Hadean one day soon and see how it compares!

    Simple both, they are the same but different. The one wheel is more flexible and more fun for me.

    I do think that eventually foot fatigue from shorter stance or a stiffer deck tends to fade a bit and you adjust to it. As your legs and feet relax more too.

    The Onewheel has only 1 repair shop in the world.You cannot buy parts or FIX it yourself.You have to send it to Future Motion and If your outside the US it would be cheaper to Buy another Onewheel than Pay for round trip Shipping cost,lol So I got a Miles Phantom e-skateboard.Will go up to 30 miles on 1 charge,20 miles if going fast and up to 30 MPH.You can BUY the parts,Also it will not Ghost or shut off on you.

    Daaamn totally beat me to the punch 😝 im getting a pint x and was going to do a pint x vs carbon gtr video. So you made a couple great points about changes modes on the go and the learning curve. Ive got 40 miles on a buddys xr and just now feel comfortable enough for the pint x. Try lowering your tire pressure, itll take out the squirlyness (if thats a word). Dude nice GTR btw 🤙🤙

  • @djwardlowentertainment9098

    AT tires are over rated and range killers. I love riding Urethane Wheels through the city but I have wanted to try a One Wheel. They seem way more one purpose like offroad applications. Everything else the ESK8 has it beat.

    • @grizzlykiwi

    Jump on a GT and then talk to me. I take it you do not ride on the best thing .. Trails.. ride on a trails on a XR or Gt -- Pint is too small for me and then come chat. The Gt is amazing for the way it keeps its nose up and I am the exact opposite of you as i prefer the onewheel on all surfaces and i think a good rider will love trial riding on onewheels as i cannot go back to 4 wheels now that I mastered one and I am 50yrs old. PS I hate Future Motion as hope no one buys anything from them because of their RIGHT TO REPAIR ans GREED-- as far a pure fun factor I dont think its close ~~~ as the more I ride onewheels I never want to hope on a reg board again. Cheers

    • @grizzlykiwi
      @grizzlykiwi  Před 2 lety

      I'd love to jump on a GT one day to compare the difference, I think I'd enjoy the bigger one wheel more. Might do something like that one day but they're super expensive in Australia, I really couldn't justify the purchase price. This is really a comparison to help guide someone's first purchase from my own experiences so it's good to hear other people's journeys with each one too. Cheers mate.
