They didn’t actually bury the bat. No one had any interest in even touching it. Michonne was telling the truth when she told him they just left it out there. After that many years though, it just sunk into the ground. Like a fossil.

I liked that they just left it where Negan dropped it. It made total sense to me

Yeah, i think it was just an easter egg and a nod to Morgan but some people are keep talking about Duane possibly returning since we also got the Duane Jones easter egg before.

If you notice, Lucille is wearing the same clothes, she killed herself the day he left, she was done with the pain. This was confirmed by the writers. 😭

Loved this episode. Negan has always been my favourite character and I loved him both as a Saviour and later on. I loved his smile at the end, made me think of Old Negan again and showed that he doesn't care what Maggie thinks.
I love how they cast Hilarie as Lucille so fitting you see the bond these two share I loved it JDM was great in this
That look between him and Maggie at the end... I put that thing on repeat about 10 times that was insane, you could cut the tension with a knife and negan wanted all the smoke!
Negan wants all the smoke because he has a death wish. He knows he could be killed any time, and he’s pushing the limit. He made peace with everything and he’s basically ready to die... or be accepted as part of the group.
Hilarie Burton Morgan did a great job as Lucille hands down.

I think the Negan smile at the end was his making peace with himself & the old Negan. He's proven he's a different man now, Maggie will have to deal with that.

@@nizzleprizzle9783 it didn't mean anything originally. JDM adlibed that among a few takes. The show kept it in but it doesn't mean the writers had that in mind they may have just like the way it looked or they wanted fans to speculate. I doubt even they know what it means exactly
Megan must save Maggie and/or Hershsl before his redemption. Is the doctor father of the two girls in World Beyond? I hope the doctor is okay.

I loved that they brought Laura back...that savior connection.
Pretty sure they didn't bury Lucille. It wasn't very deep in the ground at all. I think it was just a natural thing that occurred over 8 years. They literally just left it there.

Just so you know the cast and The Wider confirmed on Talking Dead that Lucille killed herself the same day Negan left. She was wearing the same clothing. He could not possibly have gotten back in time he had been gone six weeks
When she's in the car after she finds out she has cancer, the radio news sounds like a nod to NOTLD. The song that blasts on the radio after is from Return of the Living Dead!

Another thing I noticed was the scene where Lucille finds out she has cancer was identical in shot and sound to when Walter White finds out he has cancer in Breaking Bad
I loved this! Definitely in my top 5 favourite episodes. Morgan and him have the line "all I see is red!"
LOVED THIS EPISODE!!! This was very far from the comic version of this but I knew that was gonna be the case...Hilarie was the best one to play Lucille without a doubt. PRAYING we see the formation of the saviors in a mini-series someday
They better do a mini-series continuing Negan forming the Saviors!
This was personally my favorite episode of twd maybe ever.. but definitely in a LONGGGGG time. They out did themselves here and so did the actors involved. Nothing but respect 👏🏼

If you notice when he says he sees red it sound totally different from when morgan said it this i feel like they rephrased it on purpose and it could also be our second hint at duane being alive like the hint we got in the episode one more
Yalls excitement is palpable. Loved it guys. And this episode is easily one of my top out of the series
Negan is no more a villain than Rick is. If the books and show were about Negan's group then Rick would be the villain of that series. Negan protected his "family."
Excellent episode and loved seeing into the "life" of Negan and Lucille.
This take is one of the more wrong takes in TWD fandom. Negan didn't protect his family. He had his soldiers protect him. Rick and Negan are not similar in any way, shape or form. Stop with that dumbass narrative. Rick never took half of peoples stuff, never terrorized communities, didn't force multiple women to be with him for a place to stay, didn't make men and women kneel for him.

And her and Lucille are very similar in personality.
That would be so cool if they made a show or sum, and they should make it one season with like 8 episodes all about how the saviors were built

Lucile definitely knew she was going to end it if he left and she went thru with it right after he left since she had on the same outfit in both scenes
Rick & Co didn’t bury the bat. He dropped it in the fight and they just left it there. So he knew approximately where it was going by Michonne’s conversation.

I feel like no-one gave a fuck about the bat and just left it where he dropped it and over the years the field got overgrown with grass and dirt and that's how he still finds it there. I doubt they cared to bury it.

I hope that they continue making more apocalyptic tv shows like twd. I’ve been watching since I was 6 or 7 and now I’m 17 going on 18. I want my kids to be able to watch something from the same creators that hit the same way.
Dont forget about Morales we could find out how he joined the saviors too they definitely need to have a negan spinoff
Went from worst episode to one of best
As a Glenn fan and huge Negan hater, my opinions haven’t changed after watching this episode. I loved learning about how it all started with him and Lucille, but he didn’t get any of my sympathy after how he had treated Lucille and the fact that he only feels so responsible for her cause he’s rightfully guilty. Only thing I liked about Negan was his unique clothing style before he got the jacket lol. Great episode though.

I liked Glenn too but I also like Negan... he is one of the most interesting characters

I agree but you cant deny the fact that he is changed to a better and he loved his wife so much. Hell even his attraction to Alpha because she reminded him of his beloved wife Lucille.
@@Velshin1986 I’m not denying anything, nor am I obligated to accept his redemption arc or think it makes up for the suffering he inflicted on innocent people in S7-8. He cheated on her and treated her like shit, it took her having cancer for him to start giving a damn. Negan fans just need to be okay with people having different opinions.

On Talking Dead they said that Lucille killed herself the same day as Negan left to find the doctor
I definitely remember seeing Rick carrying Lucille at the beginning of season 8 (or whichever was next after the war with the Saviors) when they were on their way to that museum.
I love that they just left the bat out in the field like it was junk and they didn't care about it. That makes perfect sense to me. Why would they save it?? They would never want him to have it again, so what would be the purpose of keeping it? To keep it away from him? Maybe, but I think it's more likely that IF they took it with them from the field at all, then they would have destroyed it. There's no way anyone would have wanted to have that bat. No way.
That was an incredible episode and this reaction video was awesome gentlemen. So excited for Season 11
watching this again after the Maggie and Negan spinoff was announced makes that smirk from him to her at the end that much more interesting, lol
When Negan was talking about seeing Red that brought me back to the episode clear. Now when you take that parallel along with the Whiskey Duane Jones and various other moments are they hinting that Morgan is going to get the wall of the lost story?

Wow. Since they aren't going the exiled Negan route from the comics, there's no telling what's in store for him next season.
Yeah, I am happy they didn't do that cause there was no story left for him after leaving in the comics and him staying makes things more interesting. We are stepping into the unknown territory for Negan now, hope he takes some of Rick's arc in the commonwealth.

Gotta appreciate that even with his wife’s life on the line, he still gave the bikers false intel. His first instinct was to do the right thing.

Michonne told the truth, Lucille was left where he dropped it. I thought that was fitting, because who would want to keep Lucille for him. The Saviors were all unarmed when they surrendered so non of them could have taken it, and from what I gather, the place under the tree was pretty far from any of the communities, so no one went back for it
I can't wait to see the what Negans smile means. Also i can see bad ass Judith stopping Maggie Killing him holding her sword or ricks gun on her saying NO Negan lives
One of my favourite TWD episodes ever. I don’t get emotional very often but JDM’s emotion really pulls at the heart strings

Lucille when she plays music it was "It's Partytime " from Return of the Living Dead. Awesome show no matter how it foes they literally just regenerated the entire show. And it only gonna end, there is something bigger being built here.

I would pay for a Negan spin off. Negan is the main reason I'm watching the show at the moment because the character is really good. For the spin off I wouldn't say Negan would be the villain right away. I could see him going for more of a role as actions having consequences sort of role. If you saw how the saviors reacted when he walked in and everyone thought he was dead.
