I laugh every time someone says Jordan couldn’t shoot 3s . There’s a huge different in not being able to shoot 3s and not choosing to shoot 3s
percentages dont lie
look at the defenders, they were ass
@@willfrazier8485 what about them? Jordan shot 33% for his career. You know what the average percentage during his era? 33%. Even Jordan’s “weakest” part of his game he was still average. Jordan the goat 🐐
Jordans career high from 3 is much higher than Kobe and LeBron in 95-96 season he shot 42.7% from 3 .. So if Jordan WANTED to be a threat from 3 that percentage right there alone says he could have been an elite three point scorer if he wanted to be one
Jordan just sucked at 3 pointers 🤷🏽♂️
It was some of the best times of my life. As an INSANE Bulls and MJ fan, I never missed a game. You had to stay home, and watch the games live on TNT or TBS during the week. No DVR, no pause and rewind…..so every moment was must see and can’t miss. I’ll never forget the 90’s and my bulls
Right there with you.
Yessir. He was must see tv, every game every year
by the time he was retired ; i needed a 5 year break from watching games - with no mj
You can always predict, before the play, that during the play, you can't really predict what MJ would do.
There will never be a smoother more beautiful player to watch. I miss the 90's.
He just scores so effortlessly with very little wasted movement or dribbles and within the flow of the offense. The precision on his jumper and footwork is exquisite!
Micheal's midrange jumper was unparalleled.
Jordan had to show to Rex Chapman how its done lol
Reality check to infinity. I saw many of his games. Like Tyson, anything MJ was a can't miss event. NBA's greatest star was hardly human like the rest of the league.
Yep! I was lucky to see a bunch of Bulls games LIVE, many if them at the Old Chicago Stadium.
I will NEVER forget those games! He was simply the greatest athlete of our time.
Unbelievably efficient! Mr. Jordan. 👏
2:20 Sounded like 15,000 fans spilled their popcorn 😂😂
Looks easy for MJ because he was soo good
Awesome video!
How Bj Armstrong buckets always go in the same way 🤣🤣🤣
Jordan was not a GOOD 3 point shooter but a GREAT one . In our ERA . The ERA of REAL basketball it wasn’t the NORM to hoist 3 point shots & have no post players or REAL post moves & no mid range game like the game is now . Whenever he wanted he shot them & made them just like Reggie or Dell curry . No weakness to his game . No FLAWS. Just REAL skills without a debate about who’s the GREATEST. R.I.P. REAL basketball 🏀.
Actually, he wasn't a great 3-point shooter at all and he also wasn't nearly as consistent as Reggie or Dell Curry. They had to shorten the 3-point line for him to improve. And while Michael was clearly the greatest player of his generation, he wasn't perfect. In particular, Michael didn't like to fight through screens on defence. That meant he was susceptible to players like Reggie Miller, and Larry Bird, who could kill you just by running off screens alone. The second thing was he could be beaten off the dribble by smaller guards, Isiah Thomas, Tim Hardaway. Now, this wasn't a Jordan-specific weakness as many big guards in that era had the same weakness, but Jordan had it too. A third weakness that Isiah Thomas identified was that Jordan didn't trust his teammates. That one in particular was one of the major weaknesses that resulted in him not winning a title in his first seven years. He also wasn't a great team player. Also hate to burst your bubble, but there continues to be a debate for the GOAT. Michael has an arguable case, just like many others.
We sometimes forget how great Jordan was - thanks for reminding us.
7:07 that was high and beautiful jumpshot
Someone pissed 'em off!😂
The thing about it, Jordan shot 3's to stay in games, not to dominate.
This defense is crazy bad no lie lol. A rookie guarding Jordan most of the game & not a person on the Bullets weighed over 185lb 😭
Yea the Bullets were a bad team. There are about 12-16 bad teams in today's NBA that Jordan could average 40-46 ppg against. There has always been bad teams in the NBA.
And they say Jordan wouldn't dominate in today's game.. sinks those 3s easily, if he wants to. On the other hand he'd just break guards' ankles with his 1st step and go straight to the hoop. Best ever, period!
Damn he was from another planet
I wonder what Chapman said/did to motivate MJ this game?
Rex: "Hey, our last names kind of rhyme."
Jordan: "...and I took that personally."
Icy 🥶 🥂 to the GODFATHER 🐐🐐
All those threes man...
Real Facts.
Someone needs to apply some AI processed video restoration on these old videos.
The 🐐 period
The Crazy thing is Rex forgot how MJ cooked him 🥴talking crazy!
MJ The Goat!! #23 ❤️🐐
MJ got revenge🔥
I don't know where they get The Goat couldn't shoot 3s that's a big lie! Air wanted to embarrass you and did! Best all around scorer and defender of all time making him the Goat! If anyone start talking their basketball knowledge and doesn't mention Michael as the greatest I won't even speak!
I watched 1 series n I'm embarrassed tht they would compare this Era to tht weak ass era
6:13 Rodman is a monster!!! Look at those rebound numbers.
MJ really needed to score 57 points to beat this team? 🤔
how much you think the rest of the tesm had?
Yeah go look up all the teams the 96’ bulls lost too and the 73-9 warriors teams they lost too and you will see that most of their losses came from teams at or below .500, it just happens that way sometimes, if you are a fan of basketball or played basketball you would know that you don’t play as hard against teams your suppose too beat!!
91-93 MJ
MJ got HOF cherry pick
very bad defense
This just proves that Rex Chapman was a garbage player and should not have not been in the league
Bro Jordan is amazing but you put Rex on Lebron and his scoring 80pts with 25 assists. Like this guys had very little athletic ability guarding a guy who has a lot of athletic ability
so unselfish,so fundamentally sound..moves without the ball,makes the correct pass..everything! perfect.absolute G.O.A.T
23 PPG is a slump for MJ lmfao
GOAT
MJ the goat but shooting 39% is a slump for anyone
Morgan Scarborough 😭
He shot 39% though
Βαγγέλης Παπαγεωργίου and what’s your point that’s not for his career and he still avg 30 that year
Βαγγέλης Παπαγεωργίου bro pay attention that was just the last 3 games he played you have no iq for basketball
M.J. was smiling because remember this was prime Jordan, and like he used to say after he came back from his 1st retirement "Before I retired nobody could say anything about my game because I had no weaknesses!"
He was a good 3 point shooter, but he definitely got better leading into his second retirement. He was kinda deadly in 98 at times.
Man we as fans have really been blessed with so much talent throughout different generations. No season feels boring, so many great players and games, and thanks to guys like dawkins we are able to watch the greats who used to entertain years ago
You mean Michael Jordan right.
Basketball is boring now. It's not the same.
ML10040311 Jordan is the man; legendary. But these highlights are boring. I dare you to watch early Kobe highlights. Much better.
@@2020Viszion you an idiot... lay off the weed.
hershel pogue lay off the weed
5:40 so fundamental, so much skill. Simply shows on the back cut. Gives the entry passer a lane. Gets fronted, seals the defender quickly so that he can get the pass before the double team comes. While the ball is in the air, secures it and identifies the helping big, jumping into the guys chest before the big can set his feet, shielding the ball beautifully and picking up the and 1. All of this in a matter of seconds, all of this instantly recognized and executed to perfection. Watching peak mj is like asmr for basketball nerds
Yep. I mean why shoot a 3 anyway when most of your plays are 3pt plays anyway? MJ shot 3s as he wished in an era when it could get him benched. With that jumpshot and flow, he could torch the defense with 3's if he played in today's NBA. A man far too ahead of his time. Just like how Vince is automatic from 3 and he is literally from that era.
@@fhantasm you a wish man. 3pt plays or and -1's is getting your opponent in foul trouble. Strategy!!
He was already pulling up from three whenever he wants. That would get you benched in the 90s. LOL
This game shows Jordan could score the 3 when he wanted to.. but he was so damn good at scoring inside the arc that he didn't need to shoot 3s all the time.
he did not have a good 3 pt procentige
Arber Aslani He didn’t shoot them a lot! Anybody old enough to know, knew he started to shoot the three a little more towards the end of his career.
Most of his drives to the rim were 3pt plays anyway
also back then 3pt line was like 19 ft same as a highschool 3!
ayeisha ramos no it wasn’t
92-93 MJ was Mike at his pinnacle. So fundamentally sound at that point but also at his athletic peak.
It was his overall prime, but not athletic prime.
@TheRealist 811 in 93, he was burnt out, gambling alot, and bad team chemistry and mis-trust following the Jordan rules book. But killer instinct when turned on was at its peak.
statistically, MJ's best year was clearly 19 and 89. Having watched him play since every year since he entered the league, I'd say 89 was also his physical peak.
@@uncletony6210 19?
@@Coregame3 Why back in my day, that's how we used to say the years. For example, we wouldn't say 1963, we'd say 19 and 63. That's just the way it was and we liked it, dagnabbit!
Only two players in sports that played like video game versions of themselves. 1. Michael Jordan 2. Barry Sanders. Unreal talent that played at the same time.
that moment when averaging 23 points means you're in a slump
rafighian it’s the 39%. And when you averaged 24 shots a game for the season. 23pts is a major slump for someone if his caliber
I'm so glad that I was old enough to get to see MJ play when I was a teenager. Still have not seen another player since as great as #23 was!
He was robbed from MVP that year. He EMBARRASSED AND DOMINATED Chuck and the Suns by averaging a ridiculous 41ppg on 50%fg in the Finals
@gerizzyYMcrew No that was the 91-92 season. In 92-93 MJ averaged 32.6 pts 6.7 reb 5.4 ast 2.8 stl on 50% shooting. Chuck got the MVP that year because the Suns had the best record mostly.
& still lost
@gerizzyYMcrew Don't we all...
@Derek Lowe goes to show you offense matters more, if defense mattered go ahead and explained how the best defensive team the last year werent considered a top team, rockets and warriors were and they were really good offensive teams
@Derek Lowe yeah jazz were the best defensive team but they couldn't compete with the rockets that's for sure
How does 90’s NBA have better camera quality than the 2000’s NBA
Conspiracy
I have been saying that for the longest time
My guess is its the difference between recording with film vs digitally. Even a crappy tape can look better than highly compressed digital video. Things that are recorded on physical tape technically don't have a pixel limitation. It is an exact copy of what was filmed, whereas video is filmed with some sort of limitation, ie 360 720 1080. This is why old film can be remastered into hd or 4k. I don't know what they used to record old sports, but that would be my guess.
You must don’t have HD channels
Because of Mj
lol he stepped into those 3's like it was nothing
That was the shot you want him to take, I'm pretty sure anyone would want him taking a three than a mid range or a layup
This Washington's defense reflects todays game, non existent. MJ for 45ppg in today's rules.
The greatest to ever do it
Amen
LeBron
Oh yes he is
@@rice909not
LuckyLeo94 nah. Not even close
With his flawless shooting form and work ethic, I have no doubt he'd be a top 5-7 three point shooter in today's NBA, if he felt he needed to be.
Extremely underrated passer
Ikr tell me about it, I saw a whole video on it
3:11 if that happened today everyone would say "the league is so soft now, they would never call that back in the day"
Nah the difference back then and now is a flagrant or tech now used to be just another foul then
Mj got a lot of calls other players didn't same as how harden and LeBron get more calls today than lesser known players
There's a push dumbass
@3:43 very rare front rim miss my MJ
Some of u ppl are clueless jordan ran a 4.3 in the 50 lebron ran a 4.6..Jordan's vert is higher and his defense was way more aggressive...jordan was the greatest player to play his fundamentals and mentality and approach of the game was just cut from a different cloth than lebron ...lebron is an amazing athlete something we haven't seen b4 but mj in today's league would average 35 easily
Don Draco if harden can mj sure can
Kobes fundamentals and mentality were not far off, and I can confidently say that his scoring abilities were better than MJs.. say what you will. Kobe has every basketball move perfected, even did MJs moves better then MJ lol.
Defense of m.j to lebron not conparable& m.j came up in the tuffest defensive era... So to b a beast in that era says tons
35??? More like 45 jprdam average 32 or so back then... So now ez 45& lebron back then would average 19-20
Bullshit . Gtfoh
RIP Johnny Red Kerr
This showed us that MJ's career was a just a big trolling of the league... He can do anything if he chose to. Heck if he find the 3pt shot more entertaining than driving and dunking we could've seen the greatest 3pt shooter ever.
After seeing this intense, physical 90s defense, i dont think Lebron would have survived in this era.
Mattstack 911 key word "u dont think", any player of todays league would have adapted then dominated cause if ur honest, look at how slow they are playing, even the way they are handling the ball is basic compared to todays average guard/foward, now watch lbj in 2008 and tell me he wouldnt have dominated this era without being nostalgic or any bias.
@@louwill2156 Sarcasm...
@@louwill2156 handling is different now because you could actually steal the ball with out being called for a foul
@@louwill2156 why do so many players dribble with their backs facing their opponent in the 90s and before . Harden doesnt have to do that cause you can't touch him without a foul call
I think that’s cap … he wouldn’t have the same numbers but he’d still be an all timer tho because on fast breaks he would be unstoppable in era and his passing ain’t going nowhere
Look at that physical defence. I doubt lebron could survive in this era
These plumbers stood no chance
Mattstack 911 LeBron stood no chance against Jason Terry
LeBron would dominate every era. Same with Wilt, MJ, Duncan and Mike. In the same way Giannis plays like Bill Russel on the paint with half of his moveset or even less and all dunking in 2019. (good ol Bill was a poster machine too)
@@fhantasm Lebron will but he will not get his usual numbers and unlikely to win a chip if he played on MJ's era
@@theguy9150 Jason Terry would be the second best shooting guard in Jordan's weak ass, watered down era where guys like Anthony Mason were MVP candidates.
Rex still a OG. He just went against the goat.
Prime MJ vs Prime Bron would be a legendary match up
TheChronicDocumentary DreGame closest thing to it was Kobe and Lebron matchups but yes I agree
MJ would destroy LeBitch without a single doubt.
Kyrie Irving don’t disrespect ur dad like that
U mean a legendary abuse...
MORTIFERO MORENO obviously not 🤨
Who would dislike this video? Unbelievable.
In the playoffs defense gets tighter and all that other good stuff Jordan made playoff games look like regular season games and he shoulda got mvp for the season
Why does no one point out the fact that the defence back then were just loose
Why does not one point out the fact you spelled defense wrong and that this is a Jordan highlight video and doesnt show their defensive stops
RICHIEYU Talks How do you look at one game a dissect a entire error from it
1000Kbaby obviously this can be seen in any Michael Jordan highlight or any game from that era dude. You really think that's his first time seeing MJ?
@@Bullsdabest777 what? It's a Jordan highlight video, it only shows when he makes it, not when he misses it from a good contest
90% of the video is showing him clown Rex Chapman on defense, its noted in the title. It's the same thing as Lebron or KD pick n roll onto a weaker defender to get an easier shot.
THANK YOU!!!

I watch the NBA today and these modern players look slow and clumsy compared to MJ, don't tell me today's players are more athletic than him. Everything he did was quick, explosive and precise, no excess dribbles, just one move and explode.
The dudes guarding him were slow an clumsy.

Still better defender and more physical players than right now
These guys he's playing against are almost stationary. It's like he's playing a team full of Mario belinelis.
Could you imagine these guys trying to stop Westbrook? Omg, the worst guy on a modern NBA team is more athletic than this.
@Drink Me
Nope, nice try. Bron plays against better shooters, stronger and faster athletes that still have the fundamentals. Jordan played against.....really tall people.
JJ Reddick would be an all time great if he played in Jordans era. One of the best three point shooters, athletic, can cut and ball handle better than almost all those guys.
@Drink Me
Then be objective, take Larry bird for example.
What did he do better than say........jj Reddick or Klay Thompson?
Shoot better? No
Faster? No
Cut better? No
Ball handle? No
Defense? Double no
Lateral movement? No
He was taller than them.....that's it.
@Drink Me
Tell me what he did better than them? You wanna talk championship teams? Look at who bird played against. There are average players now that would be legendary against those guys. Bird played when the average NBA player was a tall unathletic guy and that's fact. He didn't play against centers that couldove and shoot like Embiid, cousins, Anthony davis, gasol, towns and more. He didn't play against people like Klay or Steph or Reddick or korver that had incredible range and hit threes like free throws. He didn't have to gaurd players like Westbrook or Bron or Wade, Butler or any super athletic player that can do pretty much whatever they want.
Bro any superstar in todays game would average 40 against these defenses. Imagine playing that far back on steph or Klay or Damian Lillard. Literally any athletic guard would kill in this era
@Drink Me nice argument idiot
Oh my gosh! This defense! Just unbelievable! I don’t know how anybody from the 2000s and 2010 eras could score on this lockdown defense!!! This is crazy!! Smh. FOH!
Side note: Don’t put ‘Rex Chapman’ in the caption. Nobody knows who he is
Oh but the defense is better today, is that how there are so many 50 point games so far? Not to mention back then it was more physical due to no flagarant fouls
