Thanks so much for your support!
Lean into what makes you different! Much love!

At 67, I was wondering why a 20 year old college student that I know was shooting Portra 400 at Christmas. Now I remember. I also remember wearing boots, Levis jacket with hoodie, and ski cap on job sites out of blue collar necessity. It's nice to see that people still appreciate stuff that works. Now then, where's my old Red Wings, and M3. :-)
Did you ever find your M3? :)
@@realbmoredrew hah, nope, not many of those around.
I really appreciate the time you took for each shot and the zoom in as well so that we could really have a chance to properly compare them all. Thats generally my biggest gripe with alot of vs camera/film videos. So thank you for that!
Great video, Eric. I'm gonna take the Canon 1V photos all day, every day. The Leica came in a very close second and the Olympus came in a very distant third when it came to all the shots in general. Lenses are everything and the Canon EF mount lenses for their film cameras were/are par excellence. Of course, I'm being completely subjective based on what I'm seeing. Just followed you and Mike on IG. Keep bringing this type of content. What made it even better is you posted it on my birthday. Happy holidays.
Those Leica/Voigtlander colors 🤯 man. So good
Great comparison and awesome lighting as you said! Great shots. That point and shoot is impressive and would be perfect for street photography. Been enjoying your work!
Absolutely love this series! Please carry on 🙌🏻
Very cool video thanks for posting and love the lighting around the city in Chicago :)
Omg yes this video was perfection. The ending was too good 😂
That was a fun comparison to watch! You caught some real fire shots in there! It was stressful for me seeing your cameras laying out on the street like that! 😅
i love your videos man !
Great shots 😁
Thanks so much!
Eric you should list some of these locations. Like that second or third location where the picnic tables and hanging lights are. Loving it!
Loved the video!
Awesome work!
This was a very enjoyable video dad! Can’t wait to go back to Chicago to do some street
Dude such a great video and loved the images. Olympus p&s cameras are so good!
Thanks, Joel! Seriously. Always blown away by what that little thing can do.
Ah this video was very useful for me actually. I have both that Olympus Stylus aka. Mju2 and that same Voigtlander 35f1.4mk2 on my Leica M2. I just never shot portra yet so this tells me a lot. Great flow of the video too. 🤙
Absolutely loved this! Now I want to take out my SLR again!
Thanks for watching!
So good!
Wow, really loved the voightlander glass look over the 50mm 1.2 I’m impressed
Dude, this was SO GOOD. Let's do some medium format work for the next episode?? ;)
Mamiya 6MF video is for sure dropping in the near future. 😏
@@EricFloberg I’ll bring the 645 😎
Will vote for canon eos 1v.
I like skin tone the most of three. Very neutral and clean. Also like how it handled the highlights on the model's face.
love your song choice!!
I lived in Bloomington, IL for about fourteen months a long, long time ago...used to tell my friends it was the closest to Normal I've ever been :)
I'm excited to hear Mike's folk album when it drops. ;).
Great vid dudes.
bahahaha best comment
Dude, shooting film with that 50mm f/1.2 almost fakes a medium format look with that focus falloff and how shallow it is. It looks so dope 👌🏼
Loved the canon shots. All of them can do the job so guess it comes down to whatever camera makes you want to go out and shoot!
Absolutely. I think a ton of people don't realize that until they've actually had hands on experience with a few cameras
Olympus looks pretty sweet! May just pick one up
Great video! What happened with your Zeiss 35mm F2 Biogon? And wich do you like more Voightlander or Zeiss?
Dave from the Photographer Diaries, and I approve this video.
Very cool comparison
I’m currently in the middle of the Death Valley sand dunes but can’t let the algorithm off the hook
lol what the
dude. rad. LOL.
Daum, the Olympus looks amazing xd
Personally, I think the box speed on the Olympus looks best.
fr, overexposing is a meme lool
I’m adding “hit that influence swag” to my stash of photo session prompts
😂😂😂
I think the people focus too much on the cameras but it's really the lenses that make the difference. The body makes a difference in digital but not in film
YUP and experience with each camera
@@EricFloberg yes absolutely ! The ergonomic of the bodies are always a plus
DAD, I DIDN'T KNOW UNCLE MIKE WAS A MODEL
what mode do you shoot the 1v
Lowkey I like the graininess that the Olympus produces
I've just picked up a Canon 1N, paired it with my L lenses. I was surprised that for the most part, my pictures look fairly similar as those taken with my other cameras and lenses. Thought the Canon lenses would render more differently. Fun to shoot with and experiment though...:)
Dude loved this! I’m in the market to try film out for the first time! I’m finally getting the bug! Bro where did you cop your 1V from?!🥂
Let's gooo!!! I actually bought it from a friend a while back, but I know they're going online for $500 - Mike has the 1N which is essentially the same camera
Id love to see the comparisons on b&w film
What was the name of the first song? In MusicBed
how do you scan your film
NICE
The camera taking the behind the scenes, did it have a pro mist or something of similar sorts from polar pro or moment
Black Pro Mist 1/8 🤘🏼
I’d appreciate a little more voice over stuff so you can talk through your process while we are seeing it. But still, super awesome video
Hmm, the way these different lenses rendered the colour of is pretty interesting. Think the Olympus is the best. If you had a Leica lens, maybe the winner would be different?🤔
What boots is the the model wearing? Look like Beckmans from RW. Custom sole?
Forget the cameras, what are the deets on the boots?! (JK...Great video and breakdown; but seriously...boots!)
Go M6!!!
fun video
That Leica M6 is just fire!!
The Olympus killed your other cameras. Having an automatic camera make all the decisions for you isn’t so bad after all lol
Haha I thought the same thing
yea, forget learning and educating yourself, just let the camera do it for you. Something a lazy person would say.
@@eccentricsmithy2746 work smart not hard weirdo
Is +1 exposure comp the same effect if you shoot a full 1 stop over at box speed?
Yes it is. There’s literally an exposure comp function on the 1V that this guy neglected to use for some reason. Both function the same but you don’t need to finagle with the ISO.
@@Halofan4001 thanks.. been wondering some film shooters mess with the iso in some cameras that have exposure comp
What hat is that? Some type of Stetson?
Can you do this with Kodak UltraMAX 400
I think I will! 🤘🏼 thanks for suggesting!
Canon EOS 1V or 1N at 0:32?
Yeah, accidentally did B-Roll of Mike's 1N instead of my 1V haha - I was definitely using the 1V in video.
5:35 is an amazing photograph
Thank you! Honestly, always blown away by what that little Olympus can do. It's freaking awesome.
@@EricFloberg you inspired me I’m buying a point and shoot film camera now
@@therrera117 let's gooooo!!!! Have a blast!
Olympus eating the premium feed today
I owe you my life for gifting me that sweet, sweet machine.
@@EricFloberg hahaha fun to seeing it get some use!
A lot of the first shots look so grainy, which is weird for portra to be THAT grainy, especially overexposed.
Damn! Great music + Great shots. What more can you ask for? Can you share what the background music in this video?
You really can't replicate Leica colour science. Sheesh.
My favorite color film on MF
The 50mm 1.2 looked better.
Dad can you buy me a film camera for Christmas? 🎄
L lens aside... that Olympus held it'd own
Better scans next time please):
What would you change about these?
The cruddy zoom versions of the Olympus Stylus are still commanding ridiculous prices. What a fraud.
Today I learned to overexpose on film.
yessss
@@EricFloberg I haven't shot on film yet, but I appreciate that nugget of knowledge! Want to later!
Camera bodies are irrelevant in this comparison as all they do is create a space with no light for the film...The only thing that would make any difference in the outcome of the film are the lenses, provided that all are shot with identical settings. Light transfer thru the lenses to the film is the ONLY factor here.
Appreciate the intent, but this video has very little merit. So many variable, especially in the conversion that it’s practically impossible to know what’s the contribution of each camera is to the image quality. I’m also noticing that you are using a standalone light meter. So how are we supposed to tell how the cameras themselves exposed the image based on their light metering capabilities?
Leica all day. I feel like at least half of the canon shots missed focus.
What a bizarre video. Portra is Portra and the only variables to how it 'looks' are the lens characteristics, what ISO its rated at, how its scanned and how you edit that scan! It has zero to do with the camera body.. this is basic stuff..
