They were going to start giving away the cakes at 12 noon but the guy stole a couple around 11am and got caught. They still press charges and he still did time even though they were going to give them away for free😂😂😂. He was also a repeat offender with a long history stealing.

So when a store gives out coupons and everyone doesnt get the coupon price without a coupon… so u have to purchase the item under conditions to get a certain price(bringing in a coupon) so not purchasing u are charged full price

That jury messed up. A sale price is still a retail price. They got it confused with a manufacturer's _suggested_ retail price which is exactly what it implies; a suggestion for the seller to add a markup to make profit.
So if i steal something that has a coupon for it i should only get charged with the coupon price even though only those with a coupon gets a discount

When I was a manager at macys one my coworkers stole a bunch of baby clothes. I used the clearance price to calculate the total that determined what the charge will be. It is the discretion of the managers. It’s not that deep

The actual valuation matters. What's the problem with that? A lawyer would be wrong not to question the exact valuation. Also, in some places, a felony is much more serious than a misdemeanor. A person could lose a lot of rights being a convicted felon.
