  • I finally got a chance to breakdown the cost of skydiving from AFF to C License. I began skydiving in 2019 and made it to my C License within 2 years. The costs provided in this video are in USD. Let me know if you think I got a good deal or if I was getting ripped off.

    To be honest, everyone use to act like they would join me in skydiving and ask about cost and blame cost and blah blah blah. I gave up on trying to talk people into the sport. I told them if there down, ill be at the airport.

      Cost of a rig is laughable. Any mountaineering company could sell a quality rig for half the price(making 30%profit) at least of what you quoted.

    • @andyhwell8419
      @andyhwell8419 Před 2 lety +11

      @@ceecuz4447 That mountaineering company won't know the difference between Velcro and magnetic riser covers. They won't know what freefly friendly means. And most importantly, they won't have hundreds of thousands of test jumps under their belt. I don't think skydivers will want to buy mountain climbing gear. It would be easier to sell seatbelts to motorcyclists.

    Really informative video, thanks! I started AFF last year and spent around £1500 and all I did was levels 1,2, and two jumps at level 3 (failed both). That £1500 includes ferry and hotel travel and fuel as the closest DZ is 3 hours away.
    Going to look into booking a full AFF course next year and save for it this year. Will be going to a DZ that is an hour further away but open more days and jumps at 15000ft rather than 13000ft. Also going to look into getting tunnel time to sort out my arching issues.
    I havent seen many videos that cover costs of the sport after AFF so this is great to see. Hoping for a lottery win between now and next year haha! Blue skies :)

    For peeps in the States, I suggest you save a bunch of cash by doing your AFF in Mexico. Much cheaper prices & they’ll still be USPA rated so when you go back home you’ll have the same licensing body to jump in the U.S. with no conversion necessary.
    If you’re from UK/Europe, same/similar story by going to Mexico but conversion is needed and being new to the sport you might have issues with Chief Instructors. but I knew some people who flew all the way to South Africa from Germany and said they paid pretty much the same as they would have but this way they got a ‘holiday’ out of it at the same time and went the static line progression route instead of AFF.

    • @JUSTUSZILS
      @JUSTUSZILS  Před rokem +2

      To my knowledge you can take as long as you want, but depending on what license you carry, you may have to take recurrency jumps along the way if there are long periods of time between jumps. I’d recommend cranking through the B license as fast as you can. The condensed timeframe will help keep concepts more fresh while you are getting comfortable with skydiving. Obviously budget can be a big factor though.
