I think the most important thing to notice is that they focused on the sexuality of that one character, something they didn't do for all the other questions. The fact that he sidestepped the question and answered it without making a big deal of it is really great.
my god. he is gorgeous.
I have fallen in love with him thanks to The Hobbit!
When he took "When Love Comes" it was a brave move for a young actor as gays were much less accepted than they are now and it's easy for an actor to get branded by a role. He did a great job with it both on screen and in this interview. Really an actor's orientation has nothing to do with their ability or hottness to the other sex...Zachary Quinto is busy proving that right now. I hope The Hobbit really launches Dean's career. He's a great actor and deserves to kick ass for many years to come.
Awww! He's so cute as Fili!
I have loved him since Hercules and Young Hercules. I was so happy when I first heard he was going to play Fili. He was the perfect choice. I think the other actor that they cast first wouldn't have been such a good fit for the character. Also Dean just seems much more fun, humble and lovable imho.
I love how he has this super easy, secretive smile. Really sort of pulls all of his features together into one lovely thing.
Credit where it's due, he never fell back on the old "I'm not gay but" cliche directly. He didn't bother to mention his own orientation at all, which is a nice change from the old pattern.
he is soo fit xxx :D
Peter didn't kick Rob out, Rob left of his own accord, then Peter called Dean back. xxxxx
like him in "Legend of the Seeker"..only one episode..unfortunately :o(
I know, If you see him in something like Shortland street that he did about 16 years ago when he 19/20 he's barely changed.
I recall his Luke Morgan role in mcclouds daughters the job of any actor is to present a relatable chracter for the audience who he is in private is honestly no ones business. but his own.
If Alec Baldwin, Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, and Glenn Quinn miraculously fathered (yeah...all four of them...) a child, you'd get Dean. Beautiful actor and just seems so down to earth.
I love the way he acts when mentioning Jared Turner :D
Do you mean Aidan Turner??
@@vibekes2416 nope, I meant Jared Turner, his co-star from The Almighty Johnsons😁 here's the moment 9:04
it seems Deano was surrounded by "Turners" at some point in the past
Kiwis all the way whoop whoop kiwi and proud
he is in the hobbit and in the almighty johnsons
stahp being so gorgeous
Damn, he might of been in my hometown of Adelaide and I didn't know!
Looks like I'm the only one thats in love with Dean :)
Exactly. It's refreshingly original.
Damn he fine
Dean is definitely an attractive guy, but to me he looks even hotter as Fili. :)
his gf is taller than him. ;) and he's not that small, same height as Robert Downey Jr and taller than Tom Cruise.
Eolus, i think i spelt that wrong, he was on Young Hercules when i grew up
Neil Weaselboots Iolaus ;) but yeah he was great as both young Iolaus on Legendary Hercules and in Young Hercules (he should have been utilized more than just comic relief but he was great).
Fuck, he's beautiful & that accent o.O
I cannot believe he is twice my age, it is ridiculous.
whoo..
I want to marry him!
I like his Kiwi accent.
I don't want to know Dean's sexuality, same with every actor I respect. He wants people to see his characters and who they are, his own preferences don't come into that. I'd have less respect for him if he did go down the "I'm not gay but" path.
but thats my point. that part isnt necessary to bring up anymore. the only ones who still do are usually the ones who feel they need to be defensive about the issue.
but it doesnt matter, i love dean and i know he's not homophobic in the slightest. i just rolled my eyes when i heard that old line come from him.. haha!
Sooo... how did half of the conversation switch from DEAN to Homosexuality? Anyway I think he is hot!
*not the only one
He's hot though isn't he?
message to all straight people: when someone brings up the subject of homosexuality, it is no longer necessary to validate your position on it by saying "i have gay friends." it sounds bit too much like "i have lots of black friends", which as we all know is the most pathetic defense at accusations of racism. especially when nobody actually accused you of bigotry.
lol!
