I haven't seen Abdelkader play hockey much, I'll admit. But the hit on Sabotka was one of the most vicious I've ever seen. Abdelkader has already bee suspended for a knee on knee hit this tourney and similar hits viewed here on you tube don't cast him in a hero's role. He seems to like to strike from the flank and on this hit at least, the opposing player was completely helpless, having just taken a shot and still on one skate in a follow-through position. Abdelkader hit him in the head first and also left his feet to finish the hit. Dirty, dirty, dirty hit. The man should be disallowed from playing hockey anywhere, ever again.

Actually it was a clean hit. He didn't throw an elbow, followed through with the shoulder and he only left his feet because he fell over him after the hit. This is hockey, you're allowed to hit hard. He shouldn't have been kicked from the game.

Late and to the head. I generally like Abdelkader, but this was one of the dirtiest, most classless moves of the whole tournament so far. Hope he stays at home from now on, there's really no need for hits like these on an international event.
