    In this video I will show you how to spray automotive metal flake paint on a Harley Davison Chopper Frame. This methods will work on a variety of different surfaces like custom paint motorcycle tank and fender on your Harley Davidson, Victory, Honda, Yamaha, Cafe racer, chopper, panhead, shoveled, dyna paint job , bagger, lowrider, sportster, metal flake paint, custom skate decks, pedal car, lowrider bike, helmets, and much more.     Step 1:
    Clean Surface with Wax &Greese remover
    Sand with 180 grit
    Clean with Glass Cleaner
    Tape up filler neck
    Step 2:
    Mix Primer to specifications on Label
    3-4 Heady Coats
    Sand Primer
    Clean with Glass Cleaner
    Step 3:
    Mix Black Base Coat with Urethan reducer 20%-50%
    3-4 medium coats or until covered out of a 1.4mm spray tip
    Step 4:
    Mix Clear Coat To Specifications on label
    Add Metal Flake to Clear
    3-4 Heavy Coats out of a 1.8mm spray tip
    Step 5:
    Mix Final Clear Coat To Specifications on Label
    3-4 Heavy Coats

    My method for spraying flakes is Silver base under chrome flakes - Spray a wet bed of clear prior to flake application makes life easy...... it allows flakes to embed and lay down vs them wanting to stand back up on edge & also allows for less coats of clear/flow coats afterwards......

      That’s how I did it before and that works. However I have found you get more of a sparkle over black when using LiME LiNE metal flake.

    Awesome vid! I'm planning on painting my RC51(in my pic) doing gold flake over a 2 tone black fading up to candy burnt orange. You said you can shoot the flake with the same gun so I would like to ask what gun you use? I'm trying to avoid buying a specific gun for the flake so that part really caught my attention!       1.3 spray gun from LiME LiNE. I use it for everything

    Your videos have inspired me to do some paint work. I did a tank with house of kolor. I have a question. Can I do this line line flake in clear over a metallic/candy job with panels done or will it change the color of the paint job. I would like more sparkle.

      No probably dont do that. Its used as a base layer for candy paint on top

    What ratio did you do the pagan gold for the spray gun? im getting ready to spray mine with KK04 and can't find any real information on koncentrate to clear ratio. Thanks for the videos! They are my inspiration for my project.

      I’ll probably start around 2 to 1 with the gold because it’s not really that strong of a color

      I feel like there is more depth and dimension with a black base/silver flake. Silver base/silver flake just looks a little flat and more boring

    I have a project for my Crown Vic. My plan is Hot Rod Black base.
    Then a thin coat of Deep Purple Micro Flakes from DYC.
    I have 15g of it.
    And on top Brandywine Candy High Gloss..
    Honestly I have no clue how it will turn out. Is it possible you can replicate that on a A4 template?
    I would really like to see if it's a good idea.
    Got all materials ready for it.

    Ok if I was doing that same thing you did with the candy flake but wanted it to look black in the dark and see the color in the light would I just tint the clear with black after the candy was done

    My flake just cloggs the gun....I shake it like crazy...the whole time I'm spraying and it still.wont come out evenly... any tips? Thanks!

      The flake your using maybe too heavy. LiME LiNE Metal Flake is light weight it suspends in the clear better. Thanks for your support 🙏

      1.3 tip size or bigger using LiME LiNE flake. Yes you need to sand smooth before graphics

    Wow, that is a really, really steep markup on the limeline stuff. You'd probably get a paint shop to sell you some stuff at 1/8 the price.

    What kind of paint gun are you using? I've never painted a primer, or base...im a beginner with airbrushing and always had a friend do that stuff for me. Id like to be able to do it all myself. Have no clue where to begin

    After you spray the metal flake and clear how long do you wait until you sand it smooth? I sprayed my gas tank and fender 2 days ago and I had 1 small drip on the mounting tab and that drip is still pretty soft

      Yes, It will make a pretty big difference. mixing in clearcoat over black basecoat will be allot brighter.

    random question but i added lime green flakes in on top of my metallic green base (synergy green like camaro colour) and it comes out looking like dark spots until the light hits it... is that normal for a coloured flake? should i add more or is it too much? prob hard to tell but could add a video on my channel if you're interested in seeing it

      It’s imitation it’s actually made out of aluminum and copper mixed real goldleaf would not have the same brilliant outcome

    If i used silver flake and accidentally sanded through clear into the flake will the sparkle come back after the clear is applied?

      It should be OK as long as you didn’t burn through the metal flake

      The flake lays flater on clearcoat. Blender dries too fast creating too much of a texture but still works.

      Because I tint the flakes with a Candy which gives it a better look. Glass is too much work and doesn't look any better in my opinion

      The flake looks better over blackbase as long as you are using LiME LiNE metalflake
