Perfect timing. My Crystal will be delivered any time now.
That's exactly why we published this first :) Cheers and enjoy! If you need any help - we are here
@@hipgames pimax crystal headset support steamvr 100% ?
You need more words to make a question there ☺️
@@hipgames
I mean, does it support all Steam games vr without exception?
Like other Vr Headset like HTC
I found some vr games on Steam that did not mention this headset
Maybe they haven't updated the supporting headsets?
Well if it works on Steam VR your best bet is they work, but cannot say for all
I bought one of these a few weeks ago (totally blaming Andre for that) and initially had a lot of issues with the head set connecting or maintaining its connection. I recommend to anyone having trouble with that to replace the provided USB hub, with a powered USB C 3.2 hub. I have not had that issue since I started using one
Pimax has a new hub. The offending connection is the USB-super speed port and that was changed to USB-A. File a warranty claim and they'll send you one of the new ones.
@@lordlazerwolf thanks for the heads up!
They sent me one for review on my channel and I can't get it to connect to my PC...spent about 8hrs total troubleshooting a fix. Very unfortunate experience.
Oh that's not good! Did you talk to their contact? If you require help I am happy to assist you.
curious about "hand tracking" on the Pimax crystal. pretty much is what is keeping me from going vr.
Perfect timing, I just orderd mine today :)
thx for your discount code😃
Glad you did! Thank you for your support!
How do I run MT executable from my steam install?
What's the PC specs you're running the Crystal on?
Are the controllers necessary for DCS only player?
I see from Your vid that You enable Foveted Renedring, in others they didn't. Searching for info I read that the settings inside the Piamx Play is only for Steam VR, can You confirm or not this? Thx.
Does it work without need to login anywhere? Personally I don't understand why would I need to login somewhere to install drivers.
It does has a guest mode as well
how heavy is it? my quest 2 is very heavy
It's 950g, not that heavy and if you have the confort pad and headstrap it sits perfectly 👌 now I am trying the Light, as we speak (Natasha too). That one is very light but misses many extras that the Crystal has
If you want to run just OpenXR do you still need Open Composite?
If you have the Sim Crystal, what is the best way of launching the game? Via desktop icon MT+VR?
If game is native OpenXR, then no need for Composite. It is needed just for OpenVR native games.
@@brzijoe6700 DCS is it native?
@@pedrosura yes, DCS is OpenXR. Same as MSFS2020. IL-2 is not, there is Composite needed.
Ordered mine on November 2023. At this time I still haven't received any proof that the headset has been dispatched. Had the support team many times but nothing ATM... 😅
That's not good... Did you reach the sales team? I got mine in 2 weeks (I know right, not joking this time). The unit had some issues at the border but came through. I suggest you email the sales team about it.
@@hipgames I did, I have an ongoing ticket with them since December. They'll eventually ship it IN THE FUTURE
Where to get open composite???
the link is in video description (it was OpenOVR / now caled Open Composite). I do not use system wide installation (for all games at once), but I use just 1 file per game (64bit or 32bit, depending on game). Read instructions, everything is there.
It looks like a Big Brick! It's as heavy as a Brick. A Battery Pack at the back of the Head that can Explode in the worst case scenario.
I don't think this model can convince me as a DCS Pilot. 😉
Have you actually tried it? :)
Not yet, unfortunately I don't know anyone who spends over 1500 Euros on VR Glasses. But the Pimax Crystal is more than twice as heavy as my Rift S.
Alright, I had similar views but now that I have it for quite some time, its not as heavy as you would think. I used before the Samsung Odyssey...a very light headset. The Pimax is like a motorcycle helmet but easy on the top side. I see many users who buy it, I should know as I provided the discount codes for -99 euros for as many as Pimax allows. Its still a very expensive unit for many. But remember, sometimes the first impressions are not everything.
P.s. about the battery exploding...you made me put the fire extinguisher next to the setup 🤣
@@hipgames Maybe " In the Future 😁 " Pimax will make a Crystal Pur, a Battery-free and No Standalone Headset. That would be easier and cheaper. 😉
That damn hub... it's a bug, not a feature.
It's a hub, and it worked perfectly fine. If it doesn't they provide another one. 😊
@@AndreiCeleste the original hub had a Micro B Super Speed USB port, and the connection was super flaky so sometime you would lose connection for just a moment, which is all it takes. Receiving a resolution from support on that sort of thing is challenging. The USB-A port shipping with current headsets resolves that issue.
Not cool! So a previous version of the hub? This year?
