    The timing has been getting me but learning this is completely worth it for all the new options it opens up.

      I find it easier to leave a slight delay before cancelling the normal. otherwise "plinking" dash+normal seems to work pretty well. only caviat is on 214 motions since you need to return to neutral otherwise ky won't dash. so its 2145 dash+input

      Sure I could make a breakdown on most of these combos and talk about timing and stuff! good suggestion. While I work on that, I suggest my latest video which showcases some of these in matches. I turn the input display on for most of them

      its the same input as doing a special cancel, only doing a "plink" with dash button. With normal 66 input it must be hell

      if you like J-Rpgs, I 100% recommend playing through the franchise! otherwise check out Falcom Sound team, their composed the tracks for the franchise and Ys as well and they have absolute bangers in there!

      its the dash cancel from c.S/5k. you can cancel its startup into a special move. some don't consider it a "kara" per se, but its inputted the same way and functions in the same manner as other Karas.
      also saying "Dash cancel cancel" was redundant lol

      Dash macro. you can cancel the startup into a special or super, so moves like 5k or c.S can be cancelled into dash but you kara cancel the dash into a special/super

    So i have a vague idea of what kara cancelling is, but what exactly is being done here? My noob eyes can't tell. Is it dash cancelling the close slash into foudre?

      So basicly a "kara cancel" is cancelling an action before it comes out with another one. If you've done the missions, one of them is to Kara Potemkin's 6k into his potbuster.
      the same principles apply here but instead you cancel the dash into the special move. thats why you can still see the "gold dust" from a dash cancel but the dash doesn't come out.

      @@kairos__ for sure! If you have any trouble with the timing (especially on backwards move) try reseting to neutral before pressing dash button!

    Damn, so I have to do the motion input, press the dash button(Which I need a macro for) then press the button right after the dash for the Kara input. I wish you made pin comment that told me that, would have saved a lot of time.
    Nonetheless, good video.

      I made a video before this one that was more of a tutorial explaining how it works. this video was more of an "exhibition" or showcase of the potential of this tech.
      also, theres an alternative input method to set the Kara up. You can buffer into the special if you cancel into dash while c.S or 5K is active and then input the motion + button for the special before the dash comes out,kinda like a jump install. But I find it harder to pull that way for DP motion, its great for 214 motion tho!

      its basicaly cancelling the startup of an action into another before it comes out. in the video it is used to cancel the startup of a dash cancel

      they work on most medium weight opponents and none of the heavies

    I cant get the dash to cancel into the 214K, i get the full dash cancel animation, any special trick?

      yes the dash needs to be Kara cancelled. The way to do so is to input the commands for the special you want to cancel the dash into BEFORE pressing the dash button and then "plinking" the dash button into the required button for the special to come out. For example if you want to Kara into HS Vapor Thrust, you would do c.S>623>dash^HS. For backwards input such as Foudre Arc and Dire Eclat, there is an extra step.
      since their command ends in holding back you can't dash cancel (otherwise it would result in a backdash) so you need to return to neutral before pressing dash^k. so it would look like c.S>2145>dash^K

      @@thefgcsensei4482 You actually don’t need to plink it. Dash cancels can be buffered. Same exact deal with Potemkin Kara cancels.
