this video is a few years old and the decision has been made but unfortunately for the HOA they have no say on who can park where, even in a gated community. all roads are maintained by the town/city, county or state department of transportation (DOT). since the DOT maintains the roads the local parking laws apply like in the city, if its legal to park on the street then its legal to park outside your house.
and besides $300 for every time you park on the street. I can see this working ONLY if the HOA takes a part of the area undeveloped and makes into parking spaces for the people who live there. the only reason why this is an issue now is because none of the HOA board members have kids who are old enough to drive or they wouldn't even think about making this rule.

Go to a lawyer and have all the highlighted passages
    removed from the lease.

Denying any street parking lowers property values. Those units looked to be more than 1-2 bedroom units for just a two car garage with zero allowed driveway or paver area parking allowed. It would make sense to limit the number of cars parked in garage/driveway/paver/street to the allowed number of residents per unit and any guest parking spelled out. The board member stating his view of what parking should be allowed would mean only the garage spaces. Meaning no guests and potentially not enough spaces for all those that could be allowed to reside there. Sounds like he just doesnt like people and should move out to the country

If the HOA had issues with the cars on the street then they should have never sold the homes to people with kids it should have been a senior living area or people who don’t have kids that lived there then it would be a two car home and they wouldn’t have had any problems with this at all. Hiring a private investigator the HOA president might find out other private issues within a person life that doesn’t have anything to do with the parking issues they should have had in the contract that they had to register there cars with the HoA and if the cars didn’t match the numbers given from the license plates then have them towed like they do in our apartment complex. They hired someone to come to all there apartments complex’s they own and if they find cars not registered they get boots put on and towed and they don’t let anybody know in the complex if there car is getting towed we also can’t have any visitors parking in our lots they will be towed. After the car is towed then the board send out an email tell Everyone that lives in the apartment complex the make and model number of the car and told to call the place it had been towed to and pick up there car. We also can only have one parking space per person living in the complex since it is only one bedroom apartment they Don’t except people to have more than one car per couple and no garages.

Ive lived in an HOA hood and liked it BUT thats going a bit too far! we were also not allowed to park on the street overnight was the rule and i was fine with it. but in this hood how is one supposed to entertain people? a dinner party? weekend relatives come to visit? do they allow driveway parkiing? is the fine just for overnight parking or? not clear about it.... and yes I think cars parked all over the street overnight makes it look like a used car lot. a hood near us did indeed look like a used car lot with every driveway and spot on the street full of cars; one could hardly drive down the street and if u met another car coming at you one had to actually stop to let the other go by. it looked crowded n junky for sure.

New rules should require 100% vote FOR. Outside of the builder installed generic HOA rules (how is a builder a homeowner....different argument) no new rules should effect anyone unless all homeowners agree.
I love my new HOA. City streets. HOA specifically states it has no control over streets. ..l.. anthem

So these rules were in place when they bought this home. The HOA rules are given to you in the escrow period. They bought the property, break the rules then complain? Don't buy in a HOA neighborhood if you don't like the rules. Just sayin..

I don't like the idea and this brief video raises some questions. If they want to get rid of street parking they should find out how many people have more than 3 cars within the people that actually live there permanently. Then I would like to know where they have visitor parking and how far away is visitor parking from the average home, if they have visitor parking in more than one area. Even if it's just a married couple with two cars, if someone visits them, no one wants to tell their friend that they need to park on the edge of the development and then walk like 7 blocks. Imagine if it's a dinner party and they brought wine and food that they have to carry that entire way.

The solution is simple. The people who own the houses are members of the association. They have the option of going to meetings, and making changes to the rules through the voting process. Don't like the rules? Get enough of your neighbors together, and you can get that rule changed.

    • @jhg66466

If the HOA's actually obeyed their own rules that might work. Usually a small active group runs it and refuses to let others participate using illegal and deceptive tactics so things never come to a vote of all the owners. Like dictators they stay in power unless you have enough money to sue them for their illegal actions.... then they will you YOUR fees to fight your lawsuit.
