    I really enjoyed this video. You were 100% pure showing us that you are not a robot dishing out a perfect GPA and SAT score, but you are passionate about your interests and Stanford recognized this. Props to Standford for seeing opportunity in such a pure person. Best of luck in school!

    Hi Dyllen! Thank you for making this video it was super helpful! Regarding your descriptions what was your max word count? This year the limit is 500. Would you recommend using all characters to maximize descriptions?

    • @DyllenNellis
      @DyllenNellis  Před 3 lety

      Hey! If you are talking about activity descriptions, I'm pretty sure the character (not word) count was 150. I believe it is still 150 characters this year as well on the Common App. And I do recommend using as many characters as needed to fully get across your role in the activity, which can often ride up to the limit.

      Hi. Thank you so much. Unfortunately, I don't know a lot about what it's like to apply internationally. I'm sorry I can't help you out here. I wish you luck!

      @@mohtaramgasimova8045 Hello, I'd like to give you some info on the topic. each specific uni has their own policy for international students, so it's always good to check the one you're interested in. But the basic stuff that you will need for admission is, Highschool diploma, most unis prefer american, IB, or british diploma (IGCSE, A Levels) But other countries diploma is also usually accepeted. You will need to take SAT, and ACT exams. Also if possible try taking AP's as they make your application stronger, and some unis offer credit hours for them, so you might save some money just for taking them. All of your grades will have to be very high due to the top unis competitive nature. Last thing will be the cost of the uni, most usa unis are expensive it might start from 50 to 100k (USD) for your BS, and it's super hard to get a loan as an international student, you will either need a scholarship or your parents will have to pay for them. good luck

      If you like science comps then I would definitely suggest you do them! If not, then find something you like and find ways to show them to everyone else. Comps to me are the most straightforward thing to do lol. I'm obsessed with math comps XD

      I've got the same issue, but in my school (a federal institute of education, science and tech) we get to choose a course to attend along four years of highschool (which is sort of special, the federal institute is a uni with a really good highschool program) and because I chose the music course, it is in my curriculum just as the other subjects.
      I'm not sure how that is for my activities list, since I've got mandatory choir classes, french horn and symphonic band (also, i'm in two other smaller music groups). There is the possibility of doing research, projects, math and science state/national competitions (that are hard to get to the podium tough), etc
      *I'm completely lost in this, the activities seem too distant from the american standard.* High school, where I live, is based on taking 15 different subjects every school year, activities are completely optional, since the university admission system is based on a test up to 90 questions about our classes subjects.

    Hi! I was wondering if u ever considered art schools as an option / did u only apply to comprehensive universities and why? Bc ur art portfolio is a little different compared to what I’ve seen before (but those ppl r attending art schools). Thank u!!!!

    • @DyllenNellis
      @DyllenNellis  Před 4 lety

      I never considered art school as an option because I have so many interests in a bunch of different things that I wouldn’t be able to explore at an art school. I also wanted to go to a school where people who had very diverse interests and talents. But if art is your thing and you just want to stick to that, art school may be a good option!

    5 on Calc AB and 630 on Math 2?

    • @DyllenNellis
      @DyllenNellis  Před 5 lety +1

      Yup. I think the crazier thing is that I got 790 on the regular sat math and 630 on Math 2. BUTTTTT that just shows you what studying can do. I barely studied for Math 2, but studied my butt off for the SAT and Calc AB.

    • @eroskuikel9688
      @eroskuikel9688 Před 5 lety

      @@DyllenNellis Well Although I got 800 in both SAT Math Section and SAT Math level 2 without studying for any math sections, out of these two I would score an 800 on math level 2 every single time but score on the SAT Math Section can vary. I guess this is because SAT Math questions are trickier while level 2 questions are straightforward? Also the scoring curve for SAT Math is harsher but for the math 2 is not that harsh I guess. Nevertheless, i would score better on math 2 than on SAT math even if the scoring curves were identical. So I guess prep time is not that deciding(atleast for me) but the ability to not get tricked by the questions?
