    Leah, love the clamp system. I will use it again on my domestic as I sold my long arm due to my vision issues. I am sure it will help with edge to edge quilting on my embroidery machine. Thanks always for what you and Josh do to make quilting fun and easy. Denise lawrence

    Thank you, Leah. I purchased from you awhile ago the set of 2 Sew Steady "suspenders" and am pleased to see the demonstration on setting them up.

    Nice demonstration. If I did quilting on my domestic sewing machine I'd totally be interested. I do all edge to edge quilting on my Grace Q'Nique 15R using QCT program and that works great for me. I wish I had your talent of freemotion quilting. 💜

      I've made that shift to a quilting frame as well. This is a great tool for quilters using a home machine or sit down longarm, but yeah, once you move to a quilting frame, there's no going back!

      @@LeahDay Just wanted to tell you that with guidance from you, Janet George, and her husband, I was able to set up my 10' Continuum frame (with the help of my son) and I learned how to use my 15R quilting machine and the QCT program. I'm afraid I would have given up had it not been for the help of all 3 of you. Don't get me wrong, the Grace Company is good, but 5 years ago they didn't have much in the way of teaching how to get started using their machines. You and Janet taught me by providing clear information and guidance. Even now when I need to refresh something or learn a new skill, I go back to your and Janet's older videos. So thank you, again! 🥰

    HI Leah, i like the suspension idea very much. I bought the cutie fra e. Do you just use the suspension when you are at home?? I have not used the cutie frame yet but very excited to use it.

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes I do! The Suspension system is great for all sorts of home machine projects and even to hold up things like a canvas while painting the edges. You can use it to lift quilts you’re binding after quilting on the Cutie!

    Leah, off topic..but do you like or recommemd EVERSEWN Machines? Why or why not? Thank you. Ready for upgrade and struggling to make sound decision. I appreciate all your quilting tips..as I am always learning and growing my skills. Been quilting 5 years now. Mardene

      Hi….my name is Bonnie. I’ve been a dedicated quilter for about 20 years now. I have gone through lots of sewing machines. The one that I use everyday is an Eversewn Sparrow 30. I’ve had it for about 5 years now and I love it. The other one I have is the Brother PQ1500. It is an awesome sewing machine which I use for quilting the quilt. Plenty of harp space and a true workhorse. I’ve never had an issue with either one of these sewing machines. I hope this helps.

      Yes, I've really loved the two Eversewn machines I've had. I'm also a dealer for these machines and I don't sell anything I don't use myself. So yes, I do like and use them. I've seen lots of quilt shops also create class rooms of these machines. They are that good and the right price!

      Thank you for your response to my question. I live in Marietta,GA . I s there a dealership near me? I have been stumped at every inquiry. Also, a place that it can be repaired if needed.
      I know MISSOURI QUILT COMPANY sells them. But, i would really like to "try" it out first. Any suggestions for me with my endevor would be very welcomed. I have been using a Singer Patchwork for the past years. I have outgrown this machine. I want a larger throat space. I desire to increase my quilting repatore. FMG and Ruler work. Mardene

    Can this be used for straight line quilting? Thanks.

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes, just remember you will be stopping to reclamp your quilt. With practice, you'll figure out where to clamp to best support the weight over a long straight stitch direction.

  • @eveli7137
    @eveli7137 Před 19 dny

    i bought and used the 4 hangers, on a large quilt the clamps don't clamp hard enough to hold the quilt in place, this is fine for a 60 x60 inch quilt not larger as there isn't too much weight. really disappointed with my purchase.

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  Před 17 dny

      Practice is the key with any quilting tool. Keep in mind that a big quilt has a lot more weight, so where you position the clamps and how often you move them is important. I encourage you to keep playing with them to get the hang of where to position the clamps in relation to a larger quilt.

      Did you order from LeahDay.com? I'll be happy to send you some grip tape. It's basically the grip tape for sprained ankles available at most grocery stores.

    Great idea. I saw Tracy's video quilting on a similar DIY. Keeping it in mind. I have a Charlotte Ever Sewn; the throat is quite small. How does this compare to your Eversewn?

      @LeahDay  Před 10 měsíci

      Good question - the Eversewn Celine is probably the same size as the Charlotte. The Charlotte is the updated version of the Sparrow 20 and it's really a great machine!

    Leah, Am I missing something? I don't see your videos featuring LONGARM quilting anymore. Have you discontinued the LONGARM side of quilting? Please, if you are not too busy, let me know IF you are still filming videos featuring LONGARMs.

    Can't tell how you have the back piece secured.

    • @LeahDay
      @LeahDay  Před 10 měsíci

      Because of the way my sewing table is built into the wall, I set up the back clamp on the opening to the back of my machine. It worked well and I like the position so you can hook it either to your acrylic insert or to the table top.
