The NBA Playoffs kicked off for the 2024 season this weekend with the Cleveland Cavaliers taking on the Orlando Magic, the Phoenix Suns facing the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Philadelphia 76ers and Knicks battling, the rematch between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers, the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat having a rematch as well, the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers in a grudge match, the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks duelled, and the Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans had an incredible down to the wire game. It was a great first two days and I want to cover all of it by giving one big takeaway and some of my overall thoughts on how the game ones went. Let's talk about it.

I love it… although it is entirely too close to Kevin McHale’s “The Torture Chamber”. It’s probably been more fitting for Dort though since his standout ability is his defense, and McHale’s was from his post footwork if I’m not mistaken 😂

KP is probably the most important pick up of the offseason but people also wont realize that losing Smart also kinda helps them. He makes winning plays, was their emotional leader, and can be a defensive stalwart at times but, he was also terribly inefficient offensively. He was a strong physical guard that could post-up but instead prefered to throw up like 6-7 threes a game and miss most of them. He also had way to many turnovers in crucial momments. Having Jrue and White take those minutes makes them far more lethal imo.🤷🏾♂️

This is because Cavs lost their last regular season game so that they could be seed 4 so that they could meet Orlando Magics in order to advance to round 2.
Orlando Magic has no experience and last year Cavs were eliminated in the first round.

It feel wild that the home team won every game 1. Tho I do hope that changes for game 2, tho I enjoyed a lot of the games. Shoutout timberwolves btw proved that they are even better than anyone expected. As a celtics fan porzingis is like the aaron gordon for the nuggets in a way. IK they not the exact same role but trading for porzingis was very similar in a way.
