Camping in a Storm in God's Beautiful Creation - Yellowstone Ecosystem

- I wanted to spend a night out with all the amazing wildlife. This is just outside of the Yellowstone National Park boundary. I saw a lot of wildlife but no bears. Sleeping in a rainstorm is the best.
When I go solo backpacking I spend most of my time sketching or reading - sitting quietly in one place for days is a great way to have close encounters with wildlife. I have had weasels practically come into my lap! Thank you for showing how one can enjoy nature while being respectful of the wild things that live there.
We looked for you on the trail Stan. My family hiked Buttermilk Trailhead, Mt Washburn, and Slough Creek. You inspired all of us.
Loved the way you captured the deer being just as curious about you as long as you didn't head their way.

Hi, Stan! I enjoyed the video, beautiful scenery as always. That was some crazy wind out there. Nice to see you drawing on location, and your work is wonderful. It has been my first year drawing and painting outside and I love it, it is so peaceful and relaxing, now that our heat wave seems to be over I'm looking forward to going outside a lot in the next several weeks. Drawing or painting nature sure gives one an even deeper appreciation for Gods handiwork. 👍🏼

Backpacked out of Dunanda Falls once . Right as I got my pack in the car a big thunderstorm hit. It was fun driving in the storm. Have only spent 3 nights in the backcountry. I feel you are truly brave. Though I enjoyed it I was relieved when the trips were done.

Yes mule deer but I don’t think rut season has started. Notice the velvet still on the bucks antlers.
