    Am I the only person to notice that the clip about Terry not having "touched a drop yet" was number nine in the list?
    For those not in the know, Wogan's advice to Graham Norton when he took over the commentary was not to drink anything until at least song number nine. So Norton now makes a point of asking viewers to "raise a glass to Sir Terry" just before song number nine begins.

      You (and the UK in general) may think that it's entertaining rubbish but quite a few countries take it very seriously and aim to submit their best act. I'm not denying that there haven't been terrible entries throughout the years but there's no need to mock the entire competition.

      @flip inheck Well one could take that as a good thing because people view the two countries as the same (which really they are) and thus we have a United British Isles again but on the other hand, you have the likes of the Republicans who'd view that as good because they want a United Ireland. Nevertheless, they are two separate states for the time being and people should start recognising that because they are being either ignorant or stupid or both if they do not.

    • @clonecommanderfoggy682
      @clonecommanderfoggy682 Před 4 lety

      @flip inheck I just think that devolution has severely impacted the economy as a whole. We're the poorest nation of the UK. I agree that if NI was in a unified Ireland, it would spell disaster both economically and politically because Unionists will be in protest. Ireland has pretty much only survived once it joined the EU. Now there seems to be a growing 'Irexit' campaign which will leave them in a limbo. I'd like to welcome them back into the UK if they did leave the EU. Try and redeem ourselves a bit perhaps. Although with the state the UK is in at the moment, it may not be economically viable. Plus there's always the danger of the IRA getting 'a bit' upset.
