I do my makeup just about every day as a self-love ritual, in fact many days I do my makeup twice: a natural look for WFH and then something super colorful or sparkly later as my mental transition out of work-brain. I know that is really extra LOL but it just makes me feel joyful and creative and confident. So I totally get the idea behind this! I might have missed this but will you be documenting some of the fun looks you come up with? Personally I absolutely love your academic-style introspection, in fact I think it's ultimately why I love your content so much because it's so similar to how my own brain works! I will be curious to hear your thoughts on The Body Keeps the Score because I personally found it really enlightening about the roots of my own unhealthy coping habits. Really good stuff!!

I love that you take this time for yourself! I said I wasn't sure in the video and I'm going to do my best to document the looks!

Hi , I’ve been watching a lot of the videos and my favourite thing is you reflecting about why we do what we do. Making goals. Is awesome and I like to practice my self.

I love hearing your reflections! This sounds like a really good project, I'd like to try it, but I think it would be difficult with my lifestyle as a mom. I don't have time every day to wear makeup. But I'm excited to see how it turns out for you and really interested in your thoughts on the books!

Sounds like a nice challenge will be exciting on the reflections at the end of it. 😊

I think you would like The Paradox of Choice by Barry Schwartz! It dives into the psychology of consumerism and marketing that prohibits contentment and how to overcome choices that are manipulated by this psychology.

    Yay, a new video!
A bit of feedback on the technical side: there is a high-pitched squeaking noise in the background. I don't know if you know it but I thought it might be useful to you (I checked with and without earphones and on two different devices)
    Back to the video!

"The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz is one that was recommended to me, I have it but I haven't read it yet. A lot of good THAT is doing for me....

I read it. It has some good points and ideas but it is a very dry read.

I own the mindset - it’s a great book and as an academic I think you will appreciate it as it references a lot of research and studies. I love the alchemist - it’s a beautiful story. I would also recommend to you - The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Ana! I'm on the wait list for gifts of imperfection, I don't think I'll get it in time for the project though 👎

First off, I love this idea. When I have more time to reflect and give it my attention, this is something I would love the replicate. Secondly, are you currently pursuing a PhD? Every time you bring up school I get wildly curious. My background is in psych and now law, but everything about you screams that you’re a psych grad student (?) 👀

I'd love to hear about it if you do it!
I was in a PhD in history (technically still am) but I'm currently on a leave of absence
