I've also got back into doing art, and it's nice to have a channel to watch while doing my own projects. We got this!

Do not be ashamed of your results. If you think its funny, call it, laugh at it, and then grab your pencil again and keep practicing, you'll get so far i know that. All the best!!

Thanks for the support. Will try not to let a bad drawing bother me and just keep going.

Don't forget proportion! If I may offer constructive criticism, you have stretched out Asuka's head a bit. If you want a solid way to check if you're on the right track, try overlaying your drawing over top of your reference and make note of the differences. Then, try again but the second time try to complete the drawing from your memory without looking at the reference. Then, overlay your drawing over the reference and make note of the differences. Repeat until you're happy with the results.
If you do this process over and over, you will train both your memory and your observational abilities!

Thanks for the advice. I did notice that with Asuka's head and I see it in other drawings too. I've been going back to the loomis method and hope that helps with the proportions. I will also try what you said with the overlay. Along with try the drawing from memory. I was thinking of also trying it with the references in the books I got. Thanks again for the advice.
