It looks great bro! I know that feeling of finally seeing improvements and being so proud of yourself 😭
I leveled up from chibi heads with earthbound eyed to decent anime heads with questionable anime eyes

Nice man! Art is hard but so much fun- glad to see someone so committed. Subbed for the journey :) If I could offer some advice:
    - Details are a 'scam': I see especially with the hair you take what you know about the hair over what the reference is demonstrating. I know hair is super fine and has a ton of strands in real life, but trying to add that detail to a simple anime drawing tends to look a bit out of place. The reference breaks the hair down into "clumps" of different sizes which gives the illusion of volume and dimension. The less I focused on detail, the better my artwork looked.
    - Shapes and feeling: You've clearly heard this before because your art does show an understanding of shape and you spoke about it with the comment on how you want your eyes to "wrap around" . But feeling form is most of art. For example the image you're referencing has us "looking down" ever so slightly at the character's face, but your rendition is looking directly at us. I used to have this problem a ton, it helped me to try out the Loomis Method for a small bit and try to think of drawing as "carving" out of that head box. In other words use a basic 3-D form like a cube, cylinder etc. as a sort of training wheel
Honestly though- you're plenty good already! Very few artists ever feel like they've "reached" their goals. The moment your skills improve, so will your eye for mistakes, so it feels like an uphill battle for everyone. Just enjoy the process and improvement will come, however slow or fast.

Thanks for the advice. I think shapes are something I need to work on more. When doing some of the head drawings I see the importance of getting the shape of the face and proportions right. Because I can make the drawing look nice but if the shape or proportions are off. Then it really doesn't matter about the detail. So I will try to do more breaking down of references by shapes. I will also try what you said on using more 3D forms as training wheels. Thanks again for the advice and support.

@@JourneyoftheArbiterWolf trying to learn the right proportion can be a tough im still learning how to do that but i came across this one advice for head proportion i hope this helps. To measure the head make the torso bigger than the head so the head will fit inside the ribcage that should help with head proportion.Goodluck on your art journey.

I'm not sure if this applies to anime art as much but heres something that helps me when I draw:
When I'm drawing a face I always put the nose down first, because the nose is the centerpiece of the face. I also usually draw the nose bridge and where it connects to the eyebrows and that helps me figure out where to place the eyes!
Now since you're doing more of an anime style the noses are smaller but if wanted to try that tip out you could always erase the bridge after haha. Hope this helps (sorry if it doesn't), the pieces in this vid look great and im subbing for the journey :)
