  • Jeff Stanfield & Andy Shaver are joined by extreme meteorologist and storm chaser, Reed Timmer. Reed has witnessed more tornados and major weather events than anyone to ever live. They discuss what led Reed to chase tornados, his closest calls chasing storms, what it's like to be inside of a tornado, and how technology and meteorology are advancing thanks to the work of storm chasers like Reed.

What a great interview! Been following Reed! So informative! I use to be terrified of tornadoes as I was in one when I was 10. Since watching storm chasers series and still following Reed I am now excited! Thanks Reed! I love your passion!

Joe Rogan needs to get Reed on... and go for a chase in the Dominator

That would be the ultimate combination! And the live chase should definitely be a part of it!

I always thought it was stupid advice to abandon the vehicle. It gives you some protection which is better than none

Hi there. Reed Timmer agreed with you and so do I. It's better to have something between you and the velocity of a twister than to have nothing. He is right to find a nice deep ditch to get get your car into and get down in your car after rolling up the windows. Just be careful no matter what you do. Stay safe out there. Take care and God bless

To me it's how heavy you're vehicle is, and how strong the tornado is, you could easily survive an ef0 or ef1 tornado in most vehicles so long as you duck down below window level, ef2 and up is where it becomes very iffy, ef3-ef5 no unmodified vehicle is going to offer you any sort of protection, get out and find better shelter, even if it's a ditch

57:54 Well I’ve been in K-12 for all 20 of my years, but I can’t imagine being in college for 17😄

I went through Crockett the day after the tornadoes came through. It looked like an explosion went off in that town.
