Interesting to see that two sail radar set. TPN-501, AKA Quad Radar. I worked on the updated version from 85 until 91 in Shearwater NS which is now a museum piece at 14 Wing Greenwood where I am now. The set had 4 modes, 40 Nautical mile search, a Precision Approach Radar mode (PAR), short range 1.5 mile "Taxi" mode to track planes on taxi ways, and Hight finder mode when an actuator rotated to cause the elevation antenna to swing higher to get the high altitude targets. It was also a transportable set so that it could be set up at austere/improvised runways which included Alert, Nunavut.
