      Boring singer .... her recordings are nothing special - I remember Ricciarelli, Devia, Miriciou ....

    Very impressive soprano, and I saw her in the theater as Mathilde in William Tell. She handles this killer aria with aplomb but, let’s face it, we’ve been spoiled by Sutherland’s various renditions.

    Listen to Sutherland's version from 1981 here on YT in comparison: nothing forced, unsurpassable technique, a more beautiful tone -- at age 56. And I liked Rebeka's performance.

      @@kapellmeisterr Most singers never bother to acquire one. Some voices seem to have them by nature more or less - Sutherland being the premiere example. Marilyn Horne and Joyce Didonato said they worked for years to develop one.

    I like the dark undertones of her voice. Not a bel canto singer, but a lovely presentation of this great aria.

  • @wilsonwatt9283
    @wilsonwatt9283 Před 3 lety +5

    Where are the full note trills in the cabaletta. Nowhere. She slides of the places where there should be trills taking much of the dramatic power of the cabaletta away. If she is going to sing this type of music she must develop a real trill not this sort of wobbly fakery.
