The schemer behind this whole thing was Tectone & I loved how it went the opposite to how Tectone had hoped by sharing YD’s video to AsmondGold, so he would hate it too. Saw it unfold on Tectone’s livestream where he pulled YD's video as you would expect as all he seem to do is react to other people’s videos & gaslighting YD to his viewers, it was insane how toxic he & his viewers were & totally being blind to any of the humor in the video. Well AsmondGold is the better man who at least gets the humor.
Nah dude Tectone shared it because he thought it was good content, this type of reaction helps everybody. Tectone did not miss the humor and was enjoying it.

I've been watching yd's channel since prolly his first SW video. And I didn't finish this video yet; I watched yd's star rail stream, in which I've got many points to disagree with, but this is not for yd.
At the end of the day, the general ratings won't lie despite saying "Those are paid ratings or comments or just a bunch of mihoyo simps" or "We're allowed to critique a game without knowing what type of game it is and based on my pvp gacha game whaling experiences" (can you name me some MOBILE jrpg games without PVP content that have solid graphics, animations, soundtracks, etc.?). That being said, by any chance, if you are not a fan of "that type of game" it's always good not to touch it or force yourself to play it and then dislike it to the core to the extent that you have to claim you hate it left, right, and centre, where all these 'whatever types of game players' are actually okay to exist harmoniously without insulting each other. Please free yourself; it's really a game *without pvp*; you don't have to go on an extra pvp by creating one.

Asmon is currently farming the genshin and honkai viewers so you wont really find him criticising any aspect of the game. Even when he's agreeing he's saying "you can make a strong argument for" rather than ouright saying that it would be better if changed because then he risks upsetting some of the audience
YDCB literally hit the nail on the head with this video. I wish devs would listen to this, but people get too hype because of the name, spend 1000s and new gacha games just go, ok we are doing everythng right! Sigh...
i mean, different games different target audience. for me honkai star rail is 10x better than genshin in every way, for many others its the other way around.

I agree with how the storytelling runs at a snails pace tho.. even as a seiyuu/ voice actor enthusiast I just can't stand how dialogues' pacing are like talking to a toddler. It should be a crime to have a game without a skip button or at least have the option for a playback speed.
I hear it flows better with languages other than english.
I use JP but I still have the same issue.. the 1 second random stare before talking always gets me everytime.
The story starts slow and i also had a hard time getting into it, but it gets better the more you play it

@@YDCB it might be a little better i played with Japanese audio and it was still soul wrenching for me tbh. Wayy too long and no skip buttons, they really should keep that option for players specially since they have it in the game. You can skip the story when you lose a battle, if they just kept it as an option always, I'd like the game a lot more

It reminds me of early 2000s when WoW players were shitting on every single MMORPG, even on the ones that had better combat than their game, just because WoW was more popular. I agree with the one guy in the comments. They are different games and I like them both. I also agree with YD and think HSR needed some more love and polish when compared to Genshin at launch.
I'm enjoying Star Rail but YD raise some good points about the presentation, Mihoyo has enough money to do more. And even when I disagree with YD, he is still entertaining lol.
This complaint is a big one old school Pokemon fans have with the recent games. They CAN do more, they PROMISE more, they come up with lame excuses for their bad ideas but then we got this hardcore cult base that laps it up off the floor like a dog. Doesn't matter how screwy it is, its just guaranteed income so GameFreak don't even try.

In every gacha game I've played, I always end up going back to E7. Nothing comes close to it. You don't really fall behind if you take a break from it, and the incentive to buy packs isn't there compared to CP ranking games. Though, I yearn for a E7 killer...

@@minhle-qd8qf yup even mihoyo is now co producing anime 2d cutscenes with the studio that did the E7 animated trailers if u notice in the jing yuan trailer the fight scenes feels like E7 fight scenes.
@@xinshee5113 pretty sure that that was Hoyo's own in-house animators tho... I mean, did the "Mihoyo anime" logo at the intro tell you that much already? They've also been doing animation for almost a decade now. They definitely know a thing or two about them.
@@FrenchDinosaur I think they were talking about Studioppuri, which look over fantasier animation (correct me on this) for the animated short "the flash". Studioppuri make a lot of game animation though.

I thnik YD is 100% right. Star rail is not amazing. Its over hyped and when its over hyped, its not going to meet everyone's expectations. I personally find it good enough to play but definitely didnt blow my mind like genshin did.
Star rail and epic seven are the same kind of turn based game. But ngl, I think e7 did it better.
That's a valid points, i also think the combat in Star Rail is a bit too slow even with the speed up button.
It might be cause' of the animation looks like it in slowmo, e.g 0.5x on normal and you have to do 2x speed for it to look normal.
Unlike E7 which have fast paced animations and skipable dialogue/cutscene.
I still can't understand how HSR doesn't allow you to pick a target to focus in auto battle. But I think the character pool is too small to properly judge combat, I too would pick E7 as of now.

nah not at all, digimon is pretty niche, HSR is very different from genshin imo, but there is a large overlap in playerbase just cuz gacha players are like that and they are both mihoyo games

For me, Star Rail was really okish. Ofc there is many things which they obviously fcked up just like in Genshin.
Like that whole "u gotta be that level to enjoy more of the story" thing etc etc.
But the story actually ramps up later and if you cleared 1 chapter like Herta Station and you go and discover it later again theres actually more to be found later on. There are many little details which let you enjoy the worlds from anew like quests and little lets call it easter eggs. They rly tried with the content they had. Which obviously wasnt that much for 1.0

I dont even grind for gears in this game since as I said there is no point. If u cleared the dungeon/stage with mid tier gears and u did fine after a couple runs then thats the point. Getting stronger beyond the requirement is optional. Until there comes harder content. rinse and repeat.
that depends on your point of view. 100$ in one video game is the exact same as 100$ in another video game, it all comes down to your own personal enjoyment
on another note there is now quality end game content in HSR that i have never seen in genshin, turn based enjoyers eating good
tbf, honkai star rail isn't a game for you since it's a single player story driven gacha game like... idk, fking another eden for example where it has no pvp but people love the story and stay for it. Like people from asmon's chat hate games that have an rng element into paying to get what you want. Btw, asmon first anime gacha game was an mmo game called ToF. His 2nd was Honkai star rail. So he's never fully experienced the "pvp" in a gacha anime game before since he came from playing mostly mmo games.

Still playing HSR at TL50 now and never did cared about the story. I like the game and how it plays. The story for me is less than mid IMO but the gameplay it self is fun.
