Chorus:
Every time I make a run
Girl, you turn around and cry
I ask myself, "Why, oh, why?" (One-two, one-two)
See, you must understand, I can't work a nine to five
So I'll be gone 'til November (One-two, one-two)
Said I'll be gone 'til November, I'll be gone 'til November
Yo, tell my girl, yo, I'll be gone 'til November
I'll be gone 'til November, I'll be gone 'til November (Ready?)
Yo, tell my girl, yo, I'll be gone 'til November (One-two, one-two)
January, February, March, April, May
I see you cryin', but girl, I can't stay
I'll be gone 'til November, I'll be gone 'til November
And give a kiss to my mother (Y'all ready?)

Anyone else just randomly remembered this song?
speak of random... was watching "always sunny in philadelphia" and the crew started singing it... lol caught me off guard to say the least.
This song came out the time as Brimful of asha,
@@barnabyjones9766that’s what reminded me of it
Yeah today 💯
This song has taunted me for 23 years (I am 31 now). I first heard it in 1997 when I was 7/8 years old. I was on a school trip to Henley Fort in Guildford. The only lyric which stuck with me was 'WHY OH WHY' and the tune. I've hummed it to people angrily hoping they could tell me what it is. No help. So for 23 years its been in my head but I never found out what it was. Untill today!! 23 years PEOPLE!!
Happy the torment is over & the joy has begun. Peace.
I know the feeling. Thats happened with me on a few other songs before
Glad you find it. Been there, done that and still looking for other classic tunes.
Your mistake was probably trying to get others of your own age to figure out what it was, when you should have targeted people 15-20 years older than you and they could have told you sooner. I'm a metal head but I remember hearing this one on the radio. If you think that's bad, I've been on the lookout for a 70's cartoon since I was little and all I know about it was there was a little boy who found a secrete passageway and he went exploring. Now in my 40's and still can't find that cartoon movie that captivated little 6 or 7 year old me. I know the feeling! It may seem trivial sure but I bet it feels so liberating. Congrats!
@@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism agree with you on this. I had to ask my brother about The Art of Sound. As soon as I hummed the beat to him he knew exactly what the tune was. If I didn't I'd still be humming the song like a clueless fool. Thank God for older brothers and of course elders in general.
2024 anyone?😅
We're here still enjoying the harmony
Yuppie
Yeeessssssssss😊
Yeah ❤some die with there name some nameless 🎧🎶
Top!!This is remember of the days of hyschool
I had a weird flash of Dee singing this in my head and had to listen to it
Same😂
Same, except mine was Charlie trying to sing along when he didn't even know the song
Mac: YOU DON'T KNOW THE SONG.
Charlie: I don't know the song but it has a good beat to it.
I'm always singing this
Heyy fellow iasip fans
For people who do not know, this album ‘Wyclef Jean Presents: The Carnival’ was rated as the best album of the year by billboard music magazine. Fully deserved. 👍🏼👌🏼
💯
But who know the true meaning behind the song.. croptober
@@Scribz1987 yup yup. Very few.
All of the Fugees as individual artists seem to be very talented.
@@chrisgoebel5831 i think I caught it. Us indigos, creatives, empaths, and prophets get it.
As far as I'm concerned Jean should've won the AMA for this MASTERPIECE Album
"Lifestyles of the rich and famous, some die WITH a name, some die nameless."
FACTS.
That part is actually taken from another song by the rap group the Lost Boyz. Wyclef was a fan of them.
Lifestyle of the rich and famous, some die with a name, some die nameless.
June and July, August, September...
+Charlie Kelly you don't know the song
+Charlie Kelly You made my day.
+Ngéntot McKontolssen You made my day too.
lmao
+Charlie Kelly I love you
As a prisoner this song touched me in the worst way. I left the house November 26th on a run to KC. Got popped on the 27th pf November. Released 13 years later November 15. Felt it to my bones while doing my time. Crazy memories.
Just wondering, but what did you go to prison for? 🤔you don't have to answer if you don't want to of course.
@@ganjaman407 trafficking. I am from a border town where its the norm to be dealing with hundreds of pounds of reggy from a young age.

It's a harvest song to me. November... first frost. Damn.
Single mom leaving my son with my parents to go to med school….hardest thing I will ever have to do but I am determined to make a better life for him. You can become anything you aspire to be baby.
Never will get old, love the Bob Dylan cameo… it gives me chills, ALWAYS HAS.
Check out the Bob Dylan video and song its not dark yet but it's getting there! That album is really good
This is not the original
This is by far Wyclef's best song. It's beautifully orchestrated and the lyrics evoke such raw emotion. No doubt this song touched many youngsters and prevented them being Gone till November.
So true
911 a tune too but I agree
As a Haitian when I listen to him like I'm listen to the lord speaking proud of you wyclef my Haitian dude
Coming of age in the 90's this brings back memories. I remember the song and video but damn that was Dylan sitting with him! I didn't remember that lol. Pure goodness.
I am 74 but when I hear Whyclef Jean my heart and soul are touched deeply. Whyclef You are a master!
Ur definitely not 74

wyclef jean is a scumbag. musics good tho.
I am 104 but when I hear his music I feel 103
Hands down, one of the best videos of the 90's. Also, how lucky he was to include his parents, especially with the fact that his father died soon after his appearance.
Wow
I rememeber listening to this through my walkman whilst smoking erb alone & homeless at the age of 15.
Time is fleeting.
Times changed now instead I’m listening to this on an iPhone X while smoking a wax thc pod
I hope both of you are doing well.

It's February 2022 and this sh*t is STILL GREAT!!!
This song came on before my dad got deployed, he said he would be back In November. This became a very sentimental song of ours. Love you pops
I hope your father returns to you soon.
Has he come back yet?

That’s why I came to see the video....Idk what’s going on but I remember Trump saying don’t worry it will all be gone in Nov....In reference to the CV..... @Lana Larue
November 2022
He could have came out with this song in 1910, 1970, 1998, or 2021....it would be a hit in any time period
No it wouldn’t… don’t be silly 😂
No way would they have listened to this before the 60s,would not have been a hit in 1910,they just didn't have this music back then
They don’t have this type of music today
I'm 426 years old and this song still makes me think of the battle of hastings.
Im 427
I’m 300
Rest in Jesus name
I'm 301
Anyone else here because it’s always sunny? I don’t even remember this song from the 90’s but then sunny brought it up and I started listening to it again.
The violins make this song amazing with the lyrics
2023 This is a classic ,in it's simplicity it's full of emotions. And the classical piece towards the end WOWWWW ❤❤🎉❤❤
It's always sunny in Philadelphia brought me here :D
My daddy is singing these words to me everyday. I'm missing him a lot.
Some songs never get old. Ever.
quero amar novamente
I remember this song. I thought it came out in the year 2000. 1997 is like forever ago. I remember absolutely loving this song. I still do. Love and peace to Mr. Wyclef Jean. Blessings 🕊️🕊️🕊️💯
Ha! this reminds me of my childhood.
Honestly, good music never dies
Mind blown, can't believe Bob Dylan is in this video!
bob dylan once made a hip hop song with kurtis blow called street rock
The master is still among us.
A JOURNEY EAST can I take the journey? ;)
+A JOURNEY EAST I seem to remember that he was jut passing through, and happened to be in the lyrics, so they put him in the video
I just discovered this song watching It's always sunny and ironically enough I discovered it on the last day of November lol
This masterpiece doesn't deserve 11 million it deserves 1.1 billion 😭😭
this is the best version of this song, you can’t tell me otherwise.
Wyclef was underrated!
he wasn't underrated some people just never found him. Just like the fugees
Uhm not really.. he was a pretty big deal back in the day..
Double Platinum in 5 months is not underrated.
tomite2001 is he dead?
@@bipolilo He is not, which is why I also felt the need enlighten these silly commenters
This song has everything, a beautiful work of art.... tears, every damn time. Dont know why
Wycliff Jean is HIGHLY under-rated...IMHO
The Genius called Wyclef Jean...WYCLEF DA GENIUS JEAN....
Canibus is very underrated. Brought Science to HipHop
but where is Germaine Williams in this song?? Why does it say featuring Canibus??
2022 and I'm still listening to this song,Wyclef is such a legend.
boas na hora certa amigo
So fitting to have Bob in this. The man of the Never Ending Tour, he's definitely told a few women and children, "I'll be gone 'til November."
I was 7 or 8 in Jamaica when I first heard this song. Love my Haitian people if you’re Haitian reading this much love from this Jamaican.
I love how he's just sitting there in the terminal with Bob Dylan and then Bob Dylan disappears, like a ghost.
To ALL Those that we loved & THAT we lost on that one last run; THAT one last trip we begged them, crying, NOT to take. SO many people don't truly get the lyrics in THEIR soul. I've known people for YEARS that thought THIS was a love song; in a way it can be. If you EVER loved someone THAT had an addiction. A WHOLE trap song. The definition of IT. & Me, coming from the DMV area; AKA Baltimore..& to those I lost & NEVER came back. IT haunts me. You ALL were so VERY loved and supported & will NEVER be forgotten. We've lost some Epic AMAZING souls that just struggled, & didn't make it out; we miss you. & If you're struggling, PLEASE try & reach out for help.. Nobody wants to tell your kids, OR your Mom,or your other half, Sorry for your loss.. THAT one last run, can take you out. Even if you feel sooo alone, you're NOT. Trust & believe you're NOT. SENDING so much Love,SUPPORT, PRAYERS, and Positive Vibes out there. Wyclef nailed THIS; MORE than any OTHER artist I know to date. 🙏🏼🙏🏼💕💕💫💫✨✨
Hey thanks
🫴⚘️
2024 and still love this song!🎉❤
This song should have a billion views
I love that Bob Dylan is actually in the video... Love this track too.
Wyclef says Dylan just so happened to be in the same airport they had been filming that day. By pure coincedence..
I was wondering if that was him!!!😍
@@briansherrick1708 Not true. He has explained that he was desperate to get Dylan in the video but was told he would never do it but Dylan eventually decided to show up. It wasn't a coincidence, it was planned.
Bob who?
real recognize real lol
It has a good bounce to it.
Always_Serpico "You dont know the song. You dont know the song"
Yes, it bounces like a misdated cheque.

The original version from the album has a really good bounce, this one is a lot different.
oldie, but goodie, love love love this jam! #snapswyclef
I remember dating a Girl who said she didn't like this song and from that moment I knew we didn't have a future
'Listening to this song on my Walkman before CZcams existed' happy days 😌
This is one of the best song that Clef had sang in his career's musical.
This bullshit song lost to K-CI Jojo's all my life?????????
November 2022. Wyclef should be back by now.🤞🏿😂🔥
Anybody in 2021? 😁
No!? 🤔😳
I'm blasting it, watching the video because the kiddo always stuck with me❤️

😃😀😀😃😃😃 There's always one
I'm back... Was away but it's November 2023. Lifestyle of the rich and famous.
Oh , man! This one just never gets stale or old ! ...
Also, Wyclef has this unique gift with the way he adds certain melodies over chord progressions, and its very Carribean, you can just feel the Islands and beaches and Sea in your soul, man, i wish i had a gift this strong!!
❤ Thank you, Wyclef Jean , you have a remarkable gift and presence, you are one of the "touched & blessed" Angels of Music!

This is a Classic. music used to be everything
Hard to believe this song came out when I was in middle school ;) (32 now) I once found it amusing how the local Top 40 station played this, then "December" by Collective Soul right afterwards :P

Wtf ... how does Wyclef do this to me!!! Brilliant man, underrated to say the least. God bless Wyclef!!!
This is the definition of art - means something different to each person
Still gives me chills when Bob Dylan appears.
Indeed
Shows how much he thinks of Jean. Bob doesn’t make cameos on anyone’s videos save a select few. Class act on both artists.
@@littlewing6231 And that was long before "critical race theory" and "BLM". It def means a lot here, but I'm pretty sure he has a black daughter so that might have something to do with it
@@nugsymalone1247 It was 1997. You think it was that odd that a white artist would be in a black dude’s video back then? In 1957, sure, but by the 90s I don’t think it was that out of place.
@@boscopappas234 I thought it was odd Bob would show up in a hip hop artists video, not because hes white, just they are pretty different
The orchestra piece...SO good!
O Wyclef! I am crying now.
CLEF if you read this, we need another masterpiece from you bro.Music is lost without you.
This song had been heavy on my brain lately, don't know why, but Wyclef Jean is brilliance!!!
Twas the 90s and if you were a 80's baby you knew how awesome this was in high school in the 90s

I've watched this video countless times when I was younger and only now realising that it has a random Bob Dylan cameo.
So lucky to be your fellow people Clef you are something else I can't really find words to describe you 💯 you're that Zoe 🇭🇹 man 12/24/2023 proud of you ❤ and the best part is I'm Jean 😂

My Wyclef favorite! Was 16 years old and it still hits hard!
Rediscovered but never forgotten. My days in getting old 😆
Thank you Wyclef for this beautiful song ! Love from Morocco ❤❤❤
Here in November. Wyclef and Guns N Roses are gonna get some boost in streams this month.😂💯
My dad would be 76 in August. The first real boomers.. he loved, loved wyclef and the lox.
He passed away, not from covid-19. In his sleep just before Thanksgiving
Love the infectious back rhythm of this song. I love the way he incorporates the old commercial music from Eastern Airlines back in the 80's. He also gives Bob Dylan respect as well. he truly is a genius. I first heard this song a few years ago when he performed it in the Kennedy Center Honors on PBS. I'm not a rap or Hip Hop fan but I love any kind of good music.
Kevin Bland The little diss he throws into the song too! “You sucka MC’s got no flow”. LMAO!
The Orchestra in this song ❤️ Wyclef- THE G.O.A.T. hands down!
When these torturous tornadoes go on in my life..I can come here and get a few minutes of peace. I could never express how grateful I am Wyclef, and those amazing musicians playing the melody. 🙏🏼
My dad died of old age on his camping trip. I knew he'd be laying up enjoying himself- till we couldn't reach him for Thanksgiving. He got the best meal on heaven
I was 12 years old, loving this song.... turned 18 and was sentenced to 15 years at 85% ... did the math and realized, I’d be gone until November. 💯
It's Always Sunny in PA sent me.
We all go out the window. Catch me weeeeee I'm falling.
If you notice the old man is singing along because he has said that to someone he loves at some point in his life too. The kid being held by her mom is singing along because he probably heard his father say it to him or to his mother. It took me a while to realise what the video was trying to say.
This song is now dedicated to all you women crying alone in your rooms with your fellas on vacation and not returning due to Covid 19.
Classic Wyclef! One of my wife's favorite songs....she was born in November and we were obligated in November! Great song!
This is the audible embodiment of long road trips to the beaches down south to me
❤
for me it is more about the Haitians whomes needed to go working oversee to feed there family.
that is a sad song about having to be away from the peoples you love .
He's Just waiting for awesome homegrown bud he grew, n Just waiting for November to check on it
My childhood roadtrip song was America's A Horse WIth No Name. I remember listening to it in the backseat of my mother's green Impala. When I first heard Wyclef's song, I was going through a bad breakup. My significant other had asked me to wait for him while he "discovered" him. I'll associate this song with love, longing and separation.
Damn I been gone till November several times and I hope I never have to take that trip ever again. My biggest fear is dying inside those walls. Please God don't let that happen to me or anyone I love.
This is the only acceptable version of this song. And it is a masterpiece.
This fell in my lap. I forgot how impactful this was to me as a kid. Very comforting and easy listening. Of course I had zero idea what it was about then. I remember being in my moms room on a Friday night the 1st time I heard this. Nostalgia.
