Welcome to Sam Shutt Farming, daily life on the Hill farm
This is Sam and Oliver plus 4 children farming beef sucklers and sheep in the North Yorkshire/Cumbria border area.
We are first-generation farmers, and we've had no help at all to get to where we are now. We are here to show you our life and what we do. I am also here to show new entrance that it is possible to start from scratch. Being strong-willed, determined, and a lot of hard work, you can do it.
We are both from farming backgrounds. I grew up on a family dairy farm. Milking from a very young age.Working for my uncle when i left school. I've learnt everything from him and grown ever since. I met Oliver when I was 16 he was 15. We started with a few sheep when we met and have built up over the 16 years to where we are now. We took on a 500-acre hill farm in 2019, currently 5 years into the tenancy.
Also, here to show people women can be useful in the agricultural world.😉😁

You have all become a daily fixture in our house now and my 5 year old watches you falling out of the trailer all the time and still laughs as hard everytime. She also thinks oliver is a legend! Happy lambing!

I don't know what Pioneer model you had. I've never seen one catch fire, add yours did.
Next time, look at the Honda Pioneer 1000-6. With six seats, big dump bed, locking differentials, etc. Dual Clutch Transmission, auto,/manual shift modes, high/low range, etc.
My neighbor has three for his horse and cattle ranches.

Was a 700 I think the 6 seaters would be to big for hear . Was a great buggie! Was a hot day in spring and exhaust had a bit of dry muck on it and got hot as far as we no . After all that we couldn't find another to replace it. Stopped making them. Was affordable aswell x

I bet they was some choice words flying when Oliver caught the tractor, it happens to the best of us but at least when it’s the boss he can only be angry at himself. You will have plenty to video soon when lambing starts 👍🏻
Yes, scanning geting sheds ready hauling sheep back then lambing is full on untill end of May then be tailing and marking and worming and gathering all sorts to come iam excited 😊 🤗
mudguards on some tractors stick out too much especially on the Case and New Hollands i think
great camera work from Oliver today, can we have a replay with a clean screen. nice comparison on the buggies not being a farmer not had the use of much heavy machinery, can we have a video on the battery charger pack that starts the tractor that looked a great bit of kit the other day, keep up the great work, you could sell mole traps as your first bit of 'merch'
