a tip : you can watch movies on flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Finnley London yup, I have been watching on Flixzone for months myself :)
Please , I just ordered vita mix … can it make mayo ???
@lynns609 yes it can!
A better comparison would be to use the same ingredients, same quantities, same size mixing containers, same volume of liquids.
We have a vitamix countertop blender we love and we now have this All-Clad cordless (full stainless steel version). When we make smoothies for the whole family we use the big vitamix blender. When we're making a smoothie for one or two people we use the All-Clad... it turns rock solid frozen fruit into buttery smooth smoothie in just a couple seconds. You waste less smoothie and cleaning is very fast. Regarding the plastic on the bottom of the vitamix immersion blender - folks, it's black polycarbonate which is totally food safe, incredibly impact resistant (safety glasses are made of clear PC) and very heat tolerant, not starting to melt until 550 degrees F (288 C). Saying "all plastics leach chemicals out" without being specific and calling it a "pretty big bummer" is not helpful and hyperbole at best. You're literally using coconut water that's been sitting for months in a tetrapack that's lined with plastic. When doing a side by side comparison you may want to use the same vessel, same ingredients, and same amount of liquid. We find that a stainless steel thermos-style wide mouth cup is best when blending frozen stuff because it stays frozen. Not great for a youtube demo because it's not transparent, but the contents don't warm up and soften in a ss thermos before it's time to serve/drink. Lastly, while I love our All-Clad for it's convenience, I loath it's tiny uncomfortable button. The bigger corded Vitamix is much more comfortable (we feel-tested them all at Williams-Sonoma) and is a better immersion blender for people using these to blend soups where they need to hold them for more than a minute. Lastly, the battery on the All-Clad lasts 7-22 minutes depending on the load it's given to blend, the lithium batteries inside will not last forever, and I've searched online for replacement batteries (for the future when our's eventually wear out) and haven't found any yet. As of 2021-01-25 the All-Clad is on sale on Amazon for $149.
How is the all-clad immersion blender working for you today?
I, too, I am not worried about the plastic on the Vitamix. Vitamix is particular enough to use Tritan plastic from Eastman chemical company in their blenders. They go for quality. I also agree about the analogy to the coconut water. We are all frequently drinking beverages that have been exposed to plastics for long periods of time, with those periods of time often being in high temperatures in transit or storage.
I think it is important to note that you had to use a stainless steel pot with the All Clad, but the VitaMix can work on ceramics without causing damage. And... they do have close but different wattage... 600 vs 625. Better to note the details as accurately as possible!
The problem with battery operated stuff is that it works fine for maybe a year or 2 but then the batteries don't hold a charge anymore, so you essentially lost all of your money. If you use them all the time it's probably better for the battery and you might get 3 years out of them but corded stuff works nearly forever.
Hard agree. In theory a corded machine could last decades. Good luck with your batteries lasting past five years.
Need to compare apples to apples, I.e. using same amounts of fluids, same size jar etc…
The plastic keeps it from scratching non-stick.
Why wouldn’t you use the same size jars and same amount of ingredients if you are comparing them?
Team Vitamix. Used in professional kitchens and bars around the world and my kitchen. Wish it was cordless but rarely matters.
Same here😂. I have the 5200 classic wet and dry containers and immersion blender.
I have the 3300,6300,s30,5200 and the immersion. Love em all!
Thanks for the comparison... I would go for the vitamix 😀
Your response to these comments are so nice 😌
Thanks Devon! You are so sweet! I find that kindness is always the best response. 😉💗
Excellent review! I love how you consider the impact of heat on chemicals.
I trust Vitamix, I have one of there blenders, I have had it for about 5 years, I have had to use the warranty once, and that experience alone made me a Vitamix customer for life. They make a really good product that does what it is designed to do, and they back there products. I used to use ninja products, but once you try a smoothie out of a Vitamix, it is a game changer. Looking at getting an immersion blender and was glad to see Vitamix had one. I don't care about the price because I know I will never have to buy another immersion blender again.
Thanks for sharing Jay! Good to know about the warranty. I haven't had to use it for mine. And so helpful to hear about Ninja. I know people that have one but I have never tried it since I fell in love with Vitamix first. Let us know what you think of the Immersion Blender when you get it. 😉
I 🥰 Vitamix…I’ve had my blender for over 15 years and I only had one issue (can’t recall what it was$, but it was covered by the warranty. And, I do use mine regularly - the Ninja is just annoying after a Vitamix..
Thanks for this video. I wasn't aware of the All Clad. It would be super helpful when you do the update, that all conditions for the demonstration are the same for each blender. As you stated in the video, the All Clad received the more favorable condtions for being able to blend during the demonstration.. I truly am not being critical at all and truly thank you for doing the video. As a scientist, I am just super picky about test methods being the same so that results can be compared apples to apples. I really appeciate the video and look forward to the update! THANKS!
Hi Katy, I LOVE your feedback! You are so right. I should have had the same size jar when making the smoothie. I will work on being more scientific in my approach when I am doing comparisons. I am working on the next videos with these two immersion blenders so stay tuned! Thanks for being here. 😊🙏
You are so correct. Just watching this and the different conditions for each, in my opinion, slanted the comments toward the All Clad.
Nylon is used in a lot of utensils like spatulas. It is FDA approved and does not leach into foods at high temps. Or any temp.
I am considering a new immersion blender so I very much appreciated this video. Thank you.
You're welcome! I just used mine to make guacamole and tahini dressing the other day too and it worked so well. The clean-up is so easy!
Let us know which one you end up getting.
I just got the Vitamix, will be delivered in the next couple of days.
1- I get super excited of just thinking about having 650 Watts of Vitamix power in my hand, that's pretty freaking amazing.
2-All Clad running time is just 9 min and knowing myself I'd probably forget to recharge it so cordless is not an option for me.
Would love to see in the future a 650 watt Blendtec Immersion Blender, they only have 350 watt.
24:06
WOW!!!
You used 2 hands.
Amazing
I have an old Braun immersion blender that I can't kill. I've also got a 1970's Vitamix blender, a *pair* of KitchenAid stand mixers and a ton (I'm almost NOT exaggerating) of old cast iron pans. It's amazing how some things just get passed on to other cooks simply because they work, every time. A battery-powered immersion blender is not in that cast of characters, sorry. I love All-Clad stainless pans (the 3-layer ones); some of those are legacy items as well. Cuisinart and All-Clad battery-powered immersion blenders are going to get a pass from me, but I'll look seriously at the Vitamix if the Braun should go belly up.
Thank you - very helpful.
I'm sure the plastic is hard. They put it on there so you do not scratch your pans.
Thanks for the video.
You are welcome!
I have a Kitchen-Aid immersion blender.
Works great.
Good to know! And is it 100% stainless steel on the bell? How many blades?
@@NaturalLivingwithZenana
2 Blades...steel bell. Gets the job done.
As you pointed out with the Vita-Mix, it purees, bud doesn't "liquify".
Soups get to a consistency of applesauce.
Works for my applications though, and easy cleaning!
Nice! I totally agree. Thanks for sharing this Bino! 😊
i came here for a blender review & got a lecture about plastic
I didn't know all clad makes electronic tools. Is the battery replaceable for when it eventually expires?
I just saw on a video a suggestion for how to clean the vitamix. It said to put water mixed with some dish detergent in a container and immerse the Vitamix and blend.
yes, this is the way to clean but you don't really need detergent.
I went with the Vitamix for the easier one hand controls and the soft tip. That All-Clad unit looks like it would tear my ceramic cookware up! I was looking at a cordless model but batteries don't last forever.
The pots/pans on the wall behind you appear to be All-Clad. Unsure if you addressed any bias you might have in the video since I skipped through most of it due to its length. However, if you are biased toward All-Clad, hopefully you disclosed the bias. I like All-Clad's cookware. However, based on my experience with the quality and performance of a Vitamix countertop blender, I'll definitely opt for their immersion blender.
lol @ claiming bias when you didn't even watch most of the video
Nothing beats the vitamix
They really are such great machines!
Bamix beats it with 3 times less power.
I have arthritis in my hands. I have a difficult time beating eggs with a wisk. Can these blenders be used to beat eggs? Thank you
Great review - thank you! I appreciate your attention to so many details! I did get the Vitamix for puréeing soups, although given my experience I think it's well suited for making a big/deep pot of soup because the entire bell really needs to be thoroughly immersed to avoid spattering. If I had a 2 or 3 quart pot that would have been better than using my 5.5 Qt Le Cruset. Instead of buying another expensive pot though, I bought an OXO 32 ounce silicone measuring cup. It's tall and just the right diameter to fit the Vitamix. Great for a smaller batch. Of course it was an extra thing to clean, but it resolved the splattering issue. Other than that, I think it's a nice blender - well made and the company offers good customer support. I called a couple of times with questions and actually spoke to lovely and knowledgable people!
The vitamix doesn't have a stainless steel bell is because it won't mark up non stick pans...
Irresponsible fear-mongering in regards to leeching of the polycarbonate covering used by Vitamix to protect cookware from scratching. Maybe you prefer some Teflon coating in your food instead or perhaps metallic scrapings from a cast iron or carbon iron pan? Just have all the pertinent facts before making a feature a major flaw in the assessment as well as consider the downside of the alternatives to the Vitamix approach.
How do these do with blending NUTS and DATES/RAISINS into a SMOOTH PASTE?
P.S. FOOD-GRADE Plastics TYPICALLY do NOT leach, according to the SCIENCE.
The discussion on plastics is not quite relevant... even misleading...because the VitaMix does not use actual plastic. Would be nice to update/correct that information, just for the sake of accuracy in review!
I’m partial to uncorded USB rechargeable when possible. I love not having the cord to deal with.
The plastic argument is obsolete. We use plastic ladles on hot foods all the time.
I disagree but to each their own. Debates and disagreements are a normal part of life and of science too. ;)
@@NaturalLivingwithZenana I agree with you. Very important.
@@NaturalLivingwithZenana Can you point us to a video where you identify the type of plastic and you show us what chemicals you're worried about coming out during decomposition (sections 9-11 in a MSDS) ?
I'm still wondering if an immersion blender is really needed. I have a Ninja, & a Vitamix blender. I don't see why I would need one of these.
You totally don't NEED one if you have the others. It's only for convenience and ease of use.
Able to mix in a small glass
A normal blender is faster and probably smoother if you do smoothies for the whole family, for everything else an immersion blender is just way easier to use and clean.
Depends on your needs. I’m a soap maker and can’t put soap batter into my Vitamix pitcher.
When is the new video coming out?!
compares blenders in a completely different sized container with different rations of liquid/solid. wtf lady...
Hahaha! I know! I totally messed up there. Did you see the comment below for the scientist? She already called that out for me too. I won't make that mistake again, lol! I appreciate your honest feedback. It sure helps me improve my content and my channel. 🙏
Bamix all the way....
I had the same concern you mentioned about plastic in the vitamix blender. But during my search what I found is that almost all of the immersion blenders have plastic where the blade is connected to shaft. I have almost given up buying an immersion blender because of that. I thought the all clad was all stainless steel but even with all clad where the blade attaches to the shaft there is plastic - so that could also still leech.
you do realize full size blenders are plastic, right? and leeching is only caused by high heat and acidity and even then the health risk is negligible... leeching is such a scare word lately.
I do realize that full size blenders use plastic and that’s why I never immediately grind anything that is hot. I let it cool down before grinding. Also I have another blender from India and the body of that blender is fully stainless steel (which is safe to use).
Also in your own video you mentioned leeching several times. You mention it as a drawback for vitamix. But what I found is almost all of the immersion blenders have plastic above the blade. So it could still be harmful
@@minky1976 You'd have to be putting something over 550 degrees F into the blender to get polycarbonate to start breaking down and off-gassing. And that's the bottom of the melting temperature range needed to break down PC. Are you doing the blending with the blender in your oven on it's highest setting?
@rob roberts No need to be so rude or sarcastic. Please mind your words. The video mentioned concern about leeching due to the plastic used in the vitamix. If that is the case as you mentioned then there should be no concern.
@@minky1976 this idea of leaching comes from those coca cola or water bottles that stay in the sun, i don't think 30sec of blending your soup will matter in any way. But if you think it does, the bamix doesn't use any plastic
put the vitamix up against the Bamix
Yes! I second this. I can’t find a comparison anywhere
Really? What do you love about Bamix? I hadn't heard about it until I started doing more research on blenders.
@@NaturalLivingwithZenana So many people have talked it up. It is suppose to be built to last. Lifetime warranty for the motor I think? Even Gordon Ramsay was an advocate for bamix. Yet I’ve not seen a ton of videos showing it’s performance in depth (aside from the company itself) or up against either of these two immersion blenders. The bamix is so often talked about in comments for immersion blenders, that I think you’d get a good response from the public if you did a video showing how it holds up, ESPECIALLY compared to vitamix and all-clad. There’s literally no videos showing how it fairs against vitamix. Yet it is seemingly a very popular and “the best” immersion blender.
Who has the money to buy all these blenders just to do a review and end up with 30 blenders and less money? Not all manufacturers send these out for free.
Definitely...the Bamix is the best....Direct drive AC motor, unique aerating and beating blades and a lifetime warranty....
Comparison should be apples to apples. Weigh your ingredients and use vessels that are exactly the same. Smoothie comparison was horribly lopsided. I quit watching after that.
I appreciate you sharing that feedback. I totally figured that out after this video. Just part of my learning curve, lol! 😂😜
One of the worst comparisons I’ve seen. Not using the same amounts of containers makes it real biased. Theirs worse things than plastics being used in food to worry about.
always have a phone recording you... you get a second viewpoint... and a back up.. but thanks for posting...
Unfortunately I have to agreer with so many others about your comparison, unless you do apples to apples its just not reliable. Also, I listened all the way to the end and I just didn't get the impressin that you were giving an unbias comparison.Won't be watching your videos in the future.
Hi Ann. Thanks for your honest opinion. Wishing you all the best!
Poor review: As @stephmahoe intimated, a more appropriate comparison would be the same ingredients, same quantities, same size mixing containers, same volume of liquids.
Plastic melts
Waste of time my goodness - too much talking
Thank you for your feedback! I know I can be a bit long-winded, lol! 😂 I've been working on being more concise in my more recent videos. 😘
@@NaturalLivingwithZenana thanks for the explanations.especially considering plastic..I like your information, you cover all the bases, and that's what i want in an informational video.information from all angles..thanks.
@@charliewrites so glad it was helpful! 😊
Bad comparison testing, poor "comparison", and utterly inanely false info about plastics at the end. Vitamix is the one to buy.
So wrong, in so many ways. First of which neither of these are well rated. A corded blender? Seriously? First time viewing this channel. Not a good impression. Just a bunch of nonsense.
