  • Do you know how to use an immersion blender? You you even know what it is? Well, you need an immersion blender in you kitchen! They are also called stick blenders and hand blenders, but no matter what you call them, immersion blenders are a very valuable asset in anyone's kitchen. They can do things like making whipped cream, making super smooth purees, and great sauces of all sorts. Anything that needs to have some consistency. You can also make a great smoothie with an immersion blender. However, my favorite thing make with my immersion blender is mayonnaise. They make it very easy to make in just a few seconds. Once you start making you own mayo with an immersion blender, you'll never want to buy it out of a store again.

    Just got mine last month. I'm almost 70 and this has quickly become one of my faves in the kitchen. 1st used after cooking a whole bunch of celery, potato and cauliflower in my 3 qt Instant Pot. The end of my immersion stick is coated with silicon so it won't scratch my ceramic cookware. It made perfect soup. Tonight I used the beater attachment and made tapioca. Love it!

    Excellent tutorial...I loved the mayonnaise! Super simple and looks delicious! I've owed several stick blenders and always use mine to give my soups some consistency by remove some, and blending in a jug before returning to the pot. But I'm absolutely going to try some mayonnaise. Thanks for sharing.

    OK here's a NON FOOD USE CASE. I have sensitive skin so tend to buy hypoallegenic lotion such as Avalon Organics buuut it's not emilient enough for my taste- especially in the winter (NE winters are dry). So my work around is to use an immersion belnder to blend the lotion with some virgin avacado oil or coconut oil to get the texture just the way I want it. And yes I still use the blender for food items as well.

I was actually looking to figure out how to turn it on for the first time, as I let my emersion Cuisinart blender sit up for several years without ever using it, plus I don't have the instructions. Well, after watching you while toying around with it I figured out that you have to engage the unlock button located at the base of the blender in order for power speed buttons to activate. • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Yep... it's basically eggs and oil for the most part. Makes sense when you look at how many calories and fat you end up getting in a tbsp, doesn't it? When I started dropping weight, the first thing I did was stop drinking regular soda and I skipped the mayo on my burgers. Those 2 things made a massive difference without changing anything else.

      I was looking at videos a week ago trying to convince myself the Bosch is the best because it had a vacuum extension, but I saw a comment about the Bamix. I went into research mode to find flaws and reply he's not right... One day later I was ordering a Bamix, although it was 2-3 times the price i was willing to pay for the Bosch. It just looks so good and it performs better than my 1000W kitchen robot, which i already donated to get rid of it. My life changed in few days, i now rediscovered the joy of making smoothies and I can finally do cream soups. But what really convinced me was the pesto demo by Jamie Oliver, this bulky ones couldn't do it at a small scale since i think they don't fit a small jar.

    Exactly what I was looking for! I do have a question - can this Cuisinart model handle frozen fruit on a regular basis? I got this exact same one as a gift, and I absolutely love it, but I've been scared to use it on anything hard. It's great for soups, but I don't want to break it!

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před měsícem +2

      I haven't really tried it on anything frozen, but I'd imagine it would be really hard for it to do that. The blade is tiny, and it's way up in the shroud, so it probably won't get much penetration into anything frozen.

  • @dragonlord0666
    @dragonlord0666 Před rokem +1

    a year late but...I had a thunderstick blender for years that came apart, it finally broke and I could NOT find it any more to replace it. I finally found a Baymix brand and this one, whilst it does not come apart, has three 'blades' with it. one for chopping (more like the shape of the blades in a regular processor but smaller) and two discs one for whipping and one for beating I also brought a meat blade (like the sharp one on your blender) you can also get grinders and a 'processor' attachment but these have shot up in price and I'm not totally convinced they are needed (but I guess handy to have if you have spare cash)
    the baymix has two speeds but with the right disc on it can whip cold milk into a foam to use as a dessert or to top coffee or as a whipped cream alternative.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 2 lety

      Hi, Ainz. It works a lot like it does with ordinary blenders. Typically, you get smoother results with more power since the blade spins faster and doesnt bog down as much. However, mine is only 300w and I have never had a issue with that and everything comes out buttery smooth... so, IMO power levels don't matter as much with immersion blenders... at least not with anything I've ever made with them. Hope that helps.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I think it depends on how much you are planning to drink. As long as you can get the head of the immersion blender submerged, it should be fine though, so I would think anything over maybe a cup and a half should be pretty easy.. otherwise, you can just run it on low speed if it has variable speed control on it.
