We clean our stalls in the same way! Sometimes I’ll use dry stall if tractor supply is out of sweet pdz, then the bedding pellets! I use rice hulls usually instead of shaving though! Using the pdz and pellets makes such a difference in the ammonia smell!
Our pastures are all grass, so we don’t have to feed them as much or clean our the poop, since it just acts as fertilizer, and it is very hard to find in the tall grass. We do still have to clean out the barn, though. We use lime powder over the wet spots. This video is great! Love watching people tidy up.
Horses love to urinate in shavings because it doesn't splash! You can train your horse to go outside if you dig a shallow well and fill it with shavings for him. It worked for my mare :) Also, for itchy horses try a push-broom head. You just use some standard wood screws to attach it to a convenient spot where they like to rub and presto, they can scrub themselves!
To keep the algae out of your horses water trough you can put one and a half cups of apple cider vinegar per 100 gallons and a half a cup for every fifty gallons. Do this every time after you clean it and it will help cut out algae. Hope this helped!
That is actually a really good Idea. Not for a large amount of paddocks, but cutting down on the mud is really an appealing idea. I worked/rode at a 13 acre ranch in Texas and the Mud in the paddocks was a nightmare. Horses lost shoes left and right when the mud was the worst which was during the late winter/early spring. I'd have to keep my mud boots at the ranch or in the car to use before I rode! If and when I get horses and if I'm able to keep them at home instead of boarding them I will definitely use your idea. I love you channel! ♥♥♥♥♥
Oh god wanted to love this but i have ocd and that stall was not clean there were still old shavings in there that you brushed over the pelettes before you got a new bag that really unhygenic mold could grow
What size are your stalls? Also you should do a barn tour! I am planning on making a barn almost just like this and I would really appreciate any information about it! Great video!
hi i got one question:) (first of all.. im german so sorry for my english) do your horses get often hey? because seamed like that the hey is not enough for the night...? a horse shoulddnt have the meals mor then 4 hours apart:) my horse gets 3 times a day hey really cool video!
I have a manure pile, and then we move the pile with the tractor and spread the waste on a part of our property and once it has broken down, we use it as compost.
Look ,back in the 60s we did not have proper toilets. People called untouchables came and collected them. Thankfully this practice has stopped. But I see you are still clearing shit. Some people just cannot get away from clearing shit. If you were a medical student, I bet you would be M D Pathology, still studying shit of other people! 😂
Why is watching someone clean stalls so satisfying to watch? Lol
😂😂😂😂
Katie Robbins I love it too 😝

This is so satisfying
Glad your back! I love PDZ for my dog kennel yard! Totally takes the urine smell away!
I like wheelbarrows with the wheel more in middle that is more balanced & easier to move for me.
Love the ideas! May have to steal some for when I get a stall built at my new place. Thank you for being so informative!!
Very satisfying video
you should put a mat or two on the pee spot so it doesnt continue to get deeper in the ground
A barn would be a luxury.
Can you do a barn tour if you haven’t already????
I think that's a great idea, it's been a while since I have done one 🙂
This was so satisfying to watch 😂 it motivated me to get outside and clean one of my run in sheds in the pouring rain and all 😂

Omg where did you get that nice wide rake?... I love it!
The wave fork I bought it as State Line Tack a looooong time ago lol And the green lawn rake I bought at Home Depot, for about $16.00!
Awesome! And the Reflexology Mat tip is going to be a lifesaver for my horse that has "summer itch" Thank you so much 🤗
Really enjoy your vids
My ponies have a pretty good pasture and still have to come inside to pee 😆

What is under the shavings as there is a very thin layer of shavings on the floor
I am sitting in bed trying to find the motivation to clean my stalls lol 😂😂😂great job ! Now for mine !! 😂😂
Looks great! What do you do with wheelbarrows of old bedding?
We have a manure pile, and then we move it and let it compost, and then use it in our garden

Do your horses get to go in a bigger padock and with grass

Could you do a review on the insulated water trough with. 5 gallon bucket?
Yes! That is a great idea, thank you!🙂
Do you use the used shavings? What do you do with the waste? Thank you for sharing
I have a manure pile, and then we move the pile with the tractor and spread the waste on a part of our property and once it has broken down, we use it as compost.
What dish soap do you use to clean their water tank?
I used Dawn dish soap that I got at the dollar store 🙂
Ok thanks!
