Just a Home Movie (a documentary)

A look into the lives of the Wilson family as they prepare to attend the 100th birthday celebration of one of the family’s matriarchs.
This is my first foray into filmmaking at a feature length, and it was equal parts fun and challenging. It was an experience that made me think a lot more about structure as well as character, and I cannot wait to hear what y'all get out of it.

Warm. That's how, "Just a Home Movie" makes me feel. There are poignant moments with the great grandparents (the walk, entrance, and speech), humorous bits like the cat and folks staring at the camera, the mundane of leftover bread, and even the joke of making your sister repeat the one line. Overall, this is incredible for how it weaves a compelling narrative that invites the viewer into a moment as simple and yet as special as a 100th birthday party.
A solid seven. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing what comes next.
