    Such an insightful video 🙌🏽🙌🏽 Columbia MS in CS is my dream! But the only roadblock is my undergrad degree in Electronics and Telecommunication. MS in EE and CS from what I saw have a lot of overlapping courses except for a few. Given I have good coding skills and a strong hold over DS Algo through extra courses or practice on platforms like LeetCode, If I opt for MS in EE will there be any difference in the job prospects after MS? Would it be an impediment in getting the same jobs as that of a MS in CS graduate?

    • @ShivaliGoel
      @ShivaliGoel  Před 3 lety +1

      If you do masters in CS, opportunities should be the same. Previous degree won’t effect that much if you’re good at interviews!

      @@ShivaliGoel thanks a lot for the reply! What if I do masters in EE with the Data-Driven Analysis and Computation track (curriculum almost the same as CS with ML track), the job prospects will still be the same? Again MASSIVE thanks for the reply! 🙌🏽

    I got into Columbia GS as a transfer.
    After getting $20,600 scholarships from Columbia, I will still need to take out a loan of $120k to oay for tuition to get ny bachelor’s degree in economics.
    I live in NYC so I am only worrying abiut the tuition.
    I can not decide if the $120k lon worth it.

    Do you think it makes any sense to live in another Borough, like Brooklyn, for example? I expect spending virtually all of my time on campus and want to save on rent if possible. Thanks!

    • @ShivaliGoel
      @ShivaliGoel  Před 3 lety +1

      It’ll definitely save you a lot of money. You should look at options that columbia offers on their housing website because along with the apartment they also provide a shuttle service to and from those locations.
      You should consider that sometimes libraries would be super full and you might want to have lunch or take some break between classes. Having an apartment near campus comes real handy in those situations. If you want to use the gym or pool you’d always have to carry a change of clothes..
