    Licco Liggy -violin
    The instrumental version is in B flat major (the vocal version is in C).
    The B side of this record is Schubert’s Serenade, played by the famous cellist Victor Sorlin (1877-1912). Piano accompaniment by CHH Booth.
    This is a well played/loved old record,
    played on a very faithful, hardworking 1914 VV IX.
    Played with a steel needle.

    This lovely, prayer-like song used to be very popular in Germany, especially with tenors who loved to perform and record it… ✨✨✨

      „Nearer My God To Thee“ is among my all-time favourites… so touching, moving, faithful, trustful… one of the songs I want for my funeral - but no hurry with that… 😅
