    A semi-final defeat that was hard to stomach for Wigan fans given QPR's egregious FFP breaches that season. Given how fine the margins were over the two legs, it's pretty plausible that QPR's illegal spending made all the difference...

      We’ve been punished for that pal, highest fine ever received by a club which is still being paid back, we’re not that team anymore. You threw that second leg away.

      @@SM_9991 I know you have and have no issue with QPR but you can understand why this stings for Wigan fans, knowing it was our only realistic shot (financially speaking) of ever making it back to the Premier League.
      We did throw it away, but we only lost in extra-time and there was virtually nothing between the two teams. I don't think it's particularly outrageous to argue that the scales would've tipped in Wigan's favour had both teams been playing by the same rules at the time.

    That was the best team ever. The question I would like to ask the owners and directors of qpr also Warburton is perfectly simply a question is what is going on at the club how can you be 2nd place then go from there into 5th and then 5th into 7th now 9th in championship it is shitten ja it is as if the manager could not care about the fans or the club and the players do not give a dame also they are all letting us fans down also incosent at Barnsley and then millwall and draw at Middlesbrough not good enough incosent at Blackburn contra qpr lose really incosent and shitten ja.

    • @tombardsley3081
      @tombardsley3081 Před 2 lety

      Fines aren't the same as a points deduction. Fines don't adversely affect a team's position in the league table or their ability to stay in the division. Plus the premier league revenue, plus parachute payments the team received would have covered that fine. If it's fair for 2 clubs to try and go after Derby despite Derby also being punished, then it's fair for Derby fans to complain about QPR

      @@0ex3ex2 and that's fair enough. And under normal circumstances I would absolutely agree with you, which is why Middlesbrough and Wycombe don't have a case Vs Derby for the same reasons - they didn't get enough points etc to achieve their objectives etc . The fact that the EFL haven't done anything with those disputes though means that Derby should be allowed to do the same with QPR

      @@mattmc1234 if it’s ok for 2 teams to sue Derby, then it’s surely ok for derby to do the same. Especially as QPR had a direct influence on Derby given QPR beat Derby in the playoff final. Middlesbrough and Wycombe had 44 other games they played which Derby did not influence
