    Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to wrap my head around all that One Note can do, specifically for teachers. Your tutorial is THE best I’ve found when it comes to clearly explaining how TEACHERS can use it. Nice work, and thanks again!

    Thanks for the tutorial. There are a lot of really good things on Class Note book. One thing I would like to be able to do is to see which of my students has made the comments on the collaborative space. For example, I had my students give me some examples of exciting adverbials on a collaborative notebook. One or two were not adverbials (they were adjectives) it would be really useful to be able to see which student has made that mistake but at the moment I can't see who wrote what. Is there a setting to automatically identify which student made which comment?

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  Před 3 lety

      Hi Daniel! Great question. Yes, there is a place to see this. I have a video just on the Collaboration Space that goes over how to do this. You can start a 3:10 in this video:czcams.com/video/L8BmXRPn0Ow/video.html

    Very helpful on so many aspects. But the one thing I wanted to be able to do was, as a teacher, go into a notebook as a student to make a demo video of what the students will see when they open the notebook I've created for them. You have been able to go into student view in this video but I am not clear on how you did this. Is it possible to do what I'm describing here? Thanks

      @ClassPoint  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi David! I have access to a student account to be able to show their view. You can see if your IT department can set up a test account for you to log in and create the demo videos for your students.

    Hi Sara @ClassPoint, thanks for the great videos! Do you have a tutorial on how to remove students after a class is over and you are ready to add new students for the next iteration of the class? Or do you know of a resource that can explain how to do that?

    Trying to figure out if it is necessary for me to use Notebook as well as Assignments for grade 7/8. Last year I just put everything in Assignments, though I did not necessarily grade everything. It was all in one place. What would be the key advantage of having some of the work just go through Notebook instead of Assignments?

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  Před 3 lety

      Hi Kristi! I think that if you do not grade every assignment, I would try switching to do everything in the Notebook. Then, you can assign certain pages in the notebook for when you want to grade them. This way students will have everything in their Notebooks to review, collaborate, and study! We also have a video of use Class Notebook + Assignments if you want to take a look before implementing :) czcams.com/video/iPr_dM25dNI/video.html

    Great tutorial! Very easy to understand, except the bit on Student View (09:00). I don't understand how you were able to enter the "view" of a particular student? Can't seem to manage to do the same ...

      @@ClassPoint Thanks for the quick reply! I figured that's probably what you did, and now I've signed myself up as one of my own students, using a different account. It's an important thing you pointed out, that as teachers we should know how things look and function (or not!) on the other end 🙂

    Pupils are reporting they cannot edit a class note that i had distributed. Do you know how to resolve this?

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  Před 3 lety

      If the pages were distributed into their Personal Notebooks & they still cannot edit, I would first check to see if the pages are locked. ClassNotebook -> Review Student Work. Students can also copy any page into their personal notebooks to edit later! Let me know if this helped!

      Hi there, which section of Class Notebook are the students seeing this read-only page on?

  • @mrmack4047
    @mrmack4047 Před 3 lety

    Hello, I enjoy online teaching with Teams but am not sure about the benefits of using Notebook. Any document added to the Files section can be accessed by students, and there is also a read-only section. For uploading Assignments, there is an Assignments section, and so on. Notebook seems unnecessarily complex and not worth the bother. Where exactly is the added value?

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  Před 3 lety

      Totally personal preference. ClassNotebook can provide students a place to store their notes and documents. The management with Assignments and Files works as well if that is what you and your students are used to.

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you for the kind words. If the ClassNotebook doesn't appear on the student side follow these steps: On the side toolbar under Files, you should see "..." Click that icon and they should see their ClassNotebook listed in the menu of different apps.

    If I have a Group 1 section in the collaborative space, and I distribute group 1 to only the students in that group, does that mean that the other students don't have access to group 1s collaborative documents? I want the students in group 1 to collaborate on the same documents together but I don't want students from other groups interfering in group 1's project. I wouldn't want other students to be able to see it either, to avoid copying. Does this work?

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Paige! Great question. What you want is possible. It would be easier for you to watch how this can be done. I have a video specifically on the collaboration space in ClassNotebook & to answer your question, you can watch from 1:14 to about 2:40. czcams.com/video/L8BmXRPn0Ow/video.html
      Just make sure you uncheck the box for "Give Read-Only access to all students in the class." This way, only those in the assigned group will see the work they are doing.

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  Před 3 lety

      When PowerPoints and PDF's are placed in the Notebook page, they should be embedded so it won't be necessary to open. If it is just a file on the page, try right-clicking and opening outside of OneNote.
      If the PPT or PDF is attached to homework that was assigned through the Assignment tab in Teams, you can view the files there.

    PLEASE HELP!!! My students are complaining that their work is being deleted in Class Notebook. Could you help me figure out what is going on?

    • @ClassPoint
      @ClassPoint  Před 3 lety

      Oh no! It is possible that their work wasn't saved - ClassNotebook does take time to sync and autosave. In the future students can export the notebooks. If something was deleted they can try to recover by following what is here: support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/recover-deleted-class-notebook-files-from-the-onedrive-recycle-bin-b4b4aaa6-b03f-4808-8da2-51680ad53448
