I want a crowbar. Some people would say it's because I can use to force something open in an emergency, for better or worse, or use it as a weapon. But the actual reason is because of Half-Life. That's it.

I literally bought a functional crowbar that looks like Gordons for that very reason.
I mean, those are exactly the things Gordon Freeman uses it for.
I found one in my local river
it's high-density polyethylene, it's pretty strong, doesn't conduct heat that well and has a high melting point for thermoplasts; it's also used as a pipe insulator, plastic chairs, plastic jerrycans, banners, mortar tubes for fireworks or, when extrusion welded, as a chemical barrier in some form of landfills

The reason why Kit isn't comfortable with skiing might be partially because of his time as a Marine. I have seen cases of people suffering from either irrational fear to ghost, sudden sea sickness when boarding a sea vessel for a prolonged amount of time, and even car sickness.
From what I can understand, it's a minor form of PTSD developed after experiencing a spesific situation that heavily impacted the victim's psyche. Like a platoon being stucked, burried underground along with the corpses of his comrades and the enemy for several days, or being ambushed while the convoy you were in took a break near the beach side, or as mentioned by Kit, being stranded inside a heavily armored vehincle after suffering damage.
In Kit's case, it's probably something to do with still ground and footing. It's just a speculation, but he probably feel a sense of comfort when having a wall behind his back, and his footsole being flat on the the ground.
It's a mental tick thing. It's not something shameful to have, nor should you be embarrased about it. That's just how things work. I, personally, can't really grip things. My hand, especially the right ones, would suddenly loses it's strength if I try to do so.
I really want a ring made of meteoric iron. And to quote Marge Simpson, my reasoning for wanting meteoric iron is "I just think it's neat"

I really want a Kalthoff repeater, one of the first semi automatic rifles invented in 1630, I also want a Landstad 1900, The Landstad revolver was an automatic revolver of Norwegian origin. A military water holder like they had on the back of a humvee. Seems like a smart thing to have in case of a power outage and the pumps wont work cause i dont know exactly if my plumbing is able to run without electricity or not. 5.11 says “Always Be Ready” and i like that
I’ve had conversations with folks who want a tractor. Not to use it mind you, they just want to park it in their front lawn and let it rust in the name of lawn art. Think about that though, they don’t want to use an old tractor, I’m talking brand new and just parking it out front. If it was me I’d go to a junk shop and settle for a chassis if I was gonna do that. To each their own I guess.
For my truck I insisted on always keeping a large flattened cardboard box in the backseat. Ppl just thought it was trash and kept telling me toss it. To which I replied: have you ever had to change your tire in a parking lot at noon during a Texas summer....in shorts?
I never really liked cruises… everything or most things on a cruise to me were usually “eh ok” and I don’t understand why people still go, especially since all those stories of people being trapped in cruises at the start of the pandemic along with multiple reports of the boats trafficking drugs.
Cruise ships are great, but you make your own fun. By that I mean that the cruise has a schedule with tons of stuff to do but you do not have to do them all. If you are with a group of friends you can have all kinds of fun on the islands.
I used to have one, but a pickaxe. Good as an apocalypse weapon, or for prospecting. Ooooor for helping dig a bunker to equally help survive said apocalypse.
yeah, I have milk crates kicking around from the 50's i'm sure, my grandpa had them from when he was in the Canadian army and worked with Americans a lot.
the item I wanted that got eyebrows was an umbrella you'd be surprised how versatile an umbrella can be not just protection from rain but also sun because of my genetics I don't tan I burn in sunlight also unfortunately due to a meth epidemic where I live aggressive panhandlers are everywhere so having a solid object in hand tends to deter them from accosting me

i want a sword also im legitimately a material scientist(im not that good and im still in school) anyways high density polyethylene. its light weight, its very weather resistant, its stiff so it dosent lose its shape unless you put a LOT of force on it(depending on design etc), at which, its flexible so it can safely change shape and return to its original shape at quite high forces. probably some youtube video somewhere talking about HDPE in more detail but theres many types and such, so, take this as generally true
I kept random acceptable parts in the trunk of my car.
Water pump, fuel pump, fuel line, flywheel, carburettor, oil pan, headers, exhaust manifold. Lifters and rods. Also a crank and cam shaft.
I couldn't get groceries In my car.... Or the tools to replace the parts.
I have an 84mm mortar round crate in the trunk of my car. I've never been in the military, but I use it to keep my jack, jumper cables, and other shit in. It's a nice heavy duty metal crate and it works perfectly fine for what I use it for.

Purely because I have seen ones made in the 1930s still being used today and my family has thrown out so many plastic ones that rot away from gas storage/sun exposure. Plus the real cans are basically indestructible. Watch a torture test of one and be amazed. If you told me someone dropped one from a 5th floor of a building and it didn't bust open, I could very well believe you.
