In case you history buffs wanted to know the monument names, here you go 00:03 Bent Pyramid of Dashur, first "pyramid" built c. 2,600 BC. The initial incline was too steep so they had to change the angle halfway through construction. Pharaoh Dashur was alive when the construction was completed, so he had the Red Pyramid built, which was a smaller version of the Great Pyramids we know today. 00:11 (Columns at bottom right) Hypostyle Hall built in the 13th century BC. This building was made completely of large columns holding up slabs. The entire complex was dark with the exception of the center aisle. It represented reeds in a marsh from the earlier days of the Kingdom. 00:11 (large temple) Temple of the god Amun-Re built from 1579-1075 BC. This temple was off limits to everyone but the Pharaoh and the priests who lived there, giving it a very mysterious aura to everyone else. 00:31 While not a monument, it is an interesting fact and I'm happy to see that they added this extra detail. The masked man has a crown with a scarab beetle on it. The god Ra was known to roll the sun through the sky, while transforming souls. The scarab represented Ra in the sense that it rolled around a ball of dung, and its larvae would hatch from within it, signifying a cycle of life. Because of their connection to Ra, they are often portrayed as carrying the sun, which was usually represented by a red gem or stone. 01:10 The Great Pyramid of Khufu built in 2528 BC. This was the second (after the Red Pyramid) and largest pyramid to built. Unlike it is seen today, the Great pyramids would have been coated with polished white stones, and a golden tip. Another bit of detail the creators put is was the surrounding areas. The small rectangle houses, smaller pyramids, and entrance are all accurate according to archaeological finds. Contrary to popular belief, the pyramids were most likely built by citizens as a tax of sorts, as opposed to slave labor. This is the last of the 7 ancient wonders still in existence. 01:16 The pyramid of Khafre built in 2494 BC (middle) and pyramid of Menkaure 2472 BC (left) being constructed. The reason these two are smaller was because the Egypt was fighting wars and did not want to throw as much money and resources towards them as they did with the pyramid of Khufu. 01:33 The Lighthouse of Alexandria built in 247 BC. This was the tallest structure in the world during its completion, but was destroyed after a series of earthquakes in the 14th century AD. Again, the way it is portrayed in the cinematic is highly accurate. 01:36 The Library of Alexandria (I think) built in the 3rd century BC. It contained tens or hundred of thousands of ancient texts, many of which were only copies. over the next 400 years or so, a series of fires completely destroyed most of the texts within the library, and has come to represent an irreparable loss of ancient knowledge and wisdom. The largest fire was said to have started when Caesar set his fleet on fire during his siege of Alexandria, which spread to nearby houses, and eventually the library. If I made any mistakes, please correct me in the comments! Hope you history buffs enjoy this info as much as I enjoyed researching it!
The scarab beetle you mentioned was not simply representation of Ra, but symbol of Khepri, the very ancient god of rising sun. Khepri and Horakhty (as Ra-Horakhte - Ra, who is a Horus of Two Horizons) were two of 72 representations of Ra :)
Sorry for the confusion. The stepped pyramid, while called a pyramid, isnt actually geometrically so. Before this was built, pharoahs used to be buried in mastabahs, which were rectangular brick structures on top of an underground tomb. This stepped pyrmaid is simply several mastabahs stacked on on top of the other. Thanks for your reply!
bayek is up there with Ezio as one of the best protagonist, even tho this is a revenge story most of the time, he still find time to get drunk and have some fun
I recently played through the Ezio collection, Unity & then tried Origins and omfg is Bayek & Aya's story one hell of an experience to go through, if only Ubisoft actually understood why Origins and Odyssey were successful and was capable of recreating that..
Wasn’t expecting to see Cleopatra make an appearance in the game. If she’s in the game, then that men’s Julius Ceaser would be appearing as well! This game has piqued my interest once again.
THATguy 22 Oh yeah! He is in the trailer! I didn’t even notice him at first. He was shrouded in shadow in the middle of the trailer, I didn’t even recognize him at first.
I love how this trailer shows that bayek isn’t freaking invincible he doesn’t believe in so much stealth he can’t just counter or parry attacks he is human
Jack Jazzdeathform Ezio would've destroyed all of them if his hidden blade didn't break, the only real reason Ubisoft made break was so that the Turkish Assassins could give him the hook blade.
Actually, I'm sad that Bayek has such a basic hairstyle. Shoulder-length hair with lots of jewelry/decoration in it would be something I'd absolutely love. Considering how much the game is inspired by Witcher 3, maybe we get a DLC to change hair :p
I used to think I was a fan, but after that I do not know anymore, because I always loved what I used to be and I know I'm going to love what's going to be
Showing a super cool fight scene without revealing any character personalities or plots makes it a shitty trailer. Don't get me wrong, AC Revelations, AC3, and AC Unity's trailers were sick, but they didn't show any plots behind anything. This trailer actually feels like it has depth
I like how they conveyed the Assassin as being vulnerable in this CG trailer in comparison to the others where they appear almost superhuman. Possibly mirroring the approach that this game is taking as well as how the Assassin's order is in it's very early stages of becoming more developed?
What is shown in this trailer is still superhuman. But yeah, they seem to want to represent the gameplay, and since combat has been made harder in-game, they had to show that here too.
i think bayek seems just as super human as the others. taking down an entire squad with a spear(and bow).. id like to see anyone else do that and live :)
Yes it is still 'superhuman' but he almost dies as a result like he's knocked to the ground and injured where in the other trailers we have seen the Assassin's run and jump off of tremendous heights and take down multiple people with ease.
Ros Cleere I think it's supposed to show that since there is no formal Assassin order yet Bayek and his methods are very unrefined as he's only just pioneering all this stuff. The other Assassin's had traditions and thorough formal training with thousands of years of accrued knowledge given to them meanwhile Bayek only just now figuring things out. The order gets more refined and strong as time goes on which is cool to see.
I think the Hunting Monsters trailer is made by another company. Digic Pictures only made the launch cinematic with the vampire girl. But yes, all of them is awesome.

Without sounding too racist im glad Ubisoft kept the Egyptians tanned and not black... Alot of people debating saying egyptians back then were black which they were not glad Ubisoft didnt fall for political correctness over historical accuracy
Speaking of stereotypes. I'm glad that the guards in the game are (or at least look like) greek mercenaries which were the main force of egyptian army in the late period. Also (not counting the very video-gamish boss with mace) their armour and weaponry is actually fairly simmular, to what hellenic armies of that era used.
I'm just glad, they didn't go full (God's of Egypt) route and make the ancient Egyptians white people because they were never white. That's just Eurocentric nonsense.
The thing is, there is no classified race belonging to the Egyptians. Most of them were of many different colours, even depicted in their paintings. There were black Egyptians, for definite, but they were not pure Egyptians, as they were Nubians, who were Egypt's bordering neighbors, and actually formed a dynasty in Egypt.
In the beginning of the trailer, i think the blue man was at the earlier time in Egypt. As the trailer went on he was close with multiple Pharaohs/Rulers over time, probably an early Templar . Then near the end of the trailer Beyak was executing an assassination attempt, but as he was finished with the guards the blue man escaped. The arrow should've killed on his chair! Unless he was using a Piece of Eden to survive any encounters and grants immortality. Let's hope my theory was correct.
1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times x 3m9s = almost 6 years. This video wasn't out for even a day when you wrote your comment. Moreover, it didn't even have 400K views yet. You, sir, are a liar.
You are missing out. You won't understand the series completely if you start from a later game. Start from the first then go from there. You wouldn't regret it if you're into a good plot.
For anyone who doesn’t know, the singer is Leonard Cohen, probably one of the most legendary artist up there with Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. He wrote the song Hallelujah which you might have heard from the Watchmen film.
Words can't describe how I feel when playing this game. This is by far one of the best assassin's Creed games I've ever played and probably one of the best games ever. I applaud at Ubisoft for making such a beautiful game.
You don't have to pre-order to get the bonuses. Ubisoft always releases the pre-order bonuses later as DLC. That's what I love about them. While some companies never bother to re-release the bonuses for those who missed them, Ubisoft always does.
Gamers don't come back for the most obvious ideas. They come back for the subtleties, the details. They come back because they discover something they think they're the first to notice. Something to fall in love with. They're not looking for a story that tells them who they are, they already know that. They're here because they want a glimpse at what they could be. Those subtleties, that effort is found right here in this game.
Don't make me dig up those stats for the huge percentage of gamers who don't even finish a game, let alone stop and smell the roses long enough to notice subtlety. Don't get too lost in romanticism, dude.
Star Platinum Not really. The Scorpion is supposed to be a symbol Serket, the patron and protector of Pharaohs especially from Apep (the giant snake). It's also a metaphor for Old Egypt and ants are the Ptolemaic Dynasty. When Cleopatra brushed the scorpion off the map and put Caesar in it's place it hints at her demise by Amunet who used a snake.

Glad to see Bayek and the other native Egyptians looking like the Hamites / Cushitics they were instead of Nordic white or Bantu black, nice work Ubisoft 👍🏼
You all need to stop using the term "Black" to generalise the various ethnicities of Africa; this is creating more and more problems and arguments that lead to propaganda and Afrocentric/Eurocentric lies. The ancient Egyptians are clearly Hamites, an ancient race which currently inhabits North and East Africa. The true Hamites are considered to be the forefathers of the human race. They are the Berbers, the Beja, Oromo, Somali, the Siwans, etc. Whilst these people may vary in skin colour (some are light whilst others are red or dark brown), their genetics are pretty much the same and all of the modern Hamitic tribes have proven genetic ties to the ancient people of Egypt. The negroes of west, central and South Africa are NOT Hamites and share no cultural, linguistic or genetic similarities with them. The Hamites are the only people who can link themselves directly to the civilisation of ancient Egypt: various Ancient Greek writers who visited the ancient Macrobians (ancestors of the modern Somalis) described them as being the "kinsmen" or "cousins" of the Egyptians. Don't forget, these Greeks SAW THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS FOR THEMSELVES.
Welll actually in ancient Egypt there was this ritual at birth where important or wealthy people (I. e. usually kings and such) where they would do something so that they never grew hair on the head in their lifetime. disclaimer: I'm no historian, I might be wrong, don't go roasting.

No can do, Brutus didn't have any known blood descendants. Plus, he committed suicide in 42 BC. The only assassin-y thing he did was kill Caesar, he then sacked a few cities along with Cassius, hunted down Theodotus of Chios in was defeated by Octavian and Antony, before taking his own life. We could play as one of the assassins that aided him and attempted to bring him back to life using the Shroud, perhaps Bayek or Amunet.
The movie didn't suck, you people just fail to realize that Assassin's Creed in ANY Movie form doesn't work. The movie was literally Assassin's Creed all the way, the only thing they did was mess with how one of The Apples worked.
Sad that u wont get to kill julius ceaser cuz he was killed by Brutus and Cleopatra because she was killed by Amunet :( EDIT: I have never got this many likes thank you!
keep in mind that its AC, not a history book... julius might very well meet his fate at the hand of an assasin, or brutus may be one. we will see what they come up with.
Ewenya p he was killed by Brutus in real life and in the AC lore so it has to be Brutus but hopefully we will get to play as him in one of the missions
Stephen C. Let us think: a huge empire, led by a small group of people who suppress everyone but the wealthy, that aims to conquer the whole world and subject them to their order and way of life. Sounds like they'd make great Templars.
Did no one acknowledge the fact that he shot his bow........ with his FEET. 10/10 brilliant trailer. Good song and it shows some key historical figures
Honestly, AC3 trailer has always been my favorite, it's just perfectly synced with the music, and Connor's moves are so smooth. "Poet of the kill" would say Aya
A masterpiece, they've even edited the whole video to match the lyrics of the background song. The best AC trailer ever, even Hollywood movies' trailers ain't like this. Kudos to AC team.
Dear Anubis I love this game! Even though this masterpiece of a trailer flew over my head when origins was announced I was still hyped as it represented one of my favourite eras in History. It also surprised me how much they actually used from The original Prince of Persia sands of time, from Sound design to control scheme to multiple Easter eggs to even some monster designs in certain missions. The compilation of good story, memorable characters, decent stealth options and soundtrack motivated me to play this game to 100% TWICE. Just that fire 🔥 mechanic tho 😒😒😒😒 let’s just say it was difficult to extinguish myself from those situations. It’s a bit controversial but I’m pumped for Odyssey. 😊

It makes me very happy that Ubisoft did their historical research, judging from this trailer.
MickeyCeltic black, tanned, and white
So we just gonna ignore that bayek just shot a bow with his fucking foot, that's so badass!!
Ehh... it was ok... *shrugs
Seth Rios *cries
I was lookin for this comment

Watch the assassin's creed brotherhood trailer
Agree
I always think that Ubisoft has to stop making games and start a making CGI movies
TheRealJock3r makes you wonder how the actual movie was so bad doesn't it?
btw I'm not a hater by any means
btw I'm not a hater by any means
Their games are just as boring and flatlined as a movie
The guys who make these trailers aren't Ubisoft.
The timeline is confusing for sure. First the guy seems to be around for the height of Egypt, but then he is killed by Bayek after its fall.
Yo Momma Beyak said he knows that the entire Egypt country was in danger. Perhaps he could be one of those culprits.
Maybe he is a Sage.
Bryce Farmer it appears like the enemy is the ptollemy and the high priests (who are bringing the collapse of Egypt)
That wasn't a fatal shot, it almost was though
can confirm this game did live up to the hype. HOWEVER... there is a somewhat steep learning curve but once mastered this game is freakin' amazing!
Who watch this after see assassin creed valhalla trailer?
me.. the best AC is the Origins! Bayek deserve more!!
Of course me man...
This is the best trailer ever
Origins trailer still better

1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times x 3m9s = almost 6 years. This video wasn't out for even a day when you wrote your comment. Moreover, it didn't even have 400K views yet. You, sir, are a liar.
Jordy van der Linden LOL Douchegnoggins like you would never get what i meant above...!!! Go take a nap .! 💋💋💋
it's not 6 years , it's more than 6000000000 years idiot.
never played an Assasins Creed...but this just looks amazing! :O
Check it out! Best ones are AC II and AC IV.
You poor soul, you haven't played the best game franchise ever smh
But seriously it's a great game, check it out
IV all the way. Can't wait for this one either tbh. Excited to see more :)
Dont actually start with IV or you going to be really lost in some parts of the story..i was
You are missing out.
Where the heck is Asterix and Obelisk ?!
Im fuckin cryin

Orest Paja haha that was my childhood. Good times
Could not stop thinking about them - especially when I saw Caesar's nose.
Just like all Assassin's Creed trailer this one is also epic!!!Hatsoff to Ubisoft!!
Mmm... it was okay. Some other trailers beat this when it comes to the choreography (Revelations, AC1, AC2, AC3).
Seth Rios yeah!!!AC unity trailer was also good when it comes to choreography!!!
Pls just keep it in your mind these trailers are not from the Ubisoft. hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digic_Pictures
Ohhh!!! I didn't knew.Thanks for the info!!!

1:40 Is what gets you instantly hooked on it
I hope this game lives up to the hype because I'm SUPER HYPED RIGHT NOW!!
jordanxbrookes you are not the only one.
Yes 👌💯🔥
then hype down :). hype is a killer for allthings good, no product can live up to hype :)
jordanxbrookes expect downgrade.... Typical ubisoft
jordanxbrookes so am I but in waiting till XMAS for it u know just to be safe
ptolmaic greek soldiers look so badass and the native egyptian guards too .
I saw Romans, not Greeks
Sean Dennis in history the etyptians used Greek mercenaries
They are romans, you want proof? The commander on the horse that led the army is using a gladius, roman sword
Sean Dennis They're Ptolemaic soldiers. They're not Roman.
The guards appear Hellenistic (consistent with history thank goodness) and of course the romans led by Caesar are a nice addition as well
Words can't describe how I feel when playing this game. This is by far one of the best assassin's Creed games I've ever played and probably one of the best games ever. I applaud at Ubisoft for making such a beautiful game.
this trailer alone is better than 2023 Netflix's "Black" Cleopatra
"Pre-order now to get a bonus mission" Ugh Ubisoft never changes.
You don't have to pre-order to get the bonuses. Ubisoft always releases the pre-order bonuses later as DLC. That's what I love about them. While some companies never bother to re-release the bonuses for those who missed them, Ubisoft always does.
Or you know, stop with the fcking dlc
Claystead You don't understand. He is complaining that it has a bonus mission not that he wants it and can't pre-order.

Connor Nicholas nice westworld lines
Connor Nicholas too bad this west world quote doesn't refer to gaming
People play the game for story
Yo Momma Not finishing a game=/= Not enjoying the game fot story.
Michael Blake Westworld takes ideas and philosophies from video games and video game development anyway lol.
If that foot finishing move is not there. I'm gonna be soo pissed!!

0:06 the future of project scorpio
I'm pretty sure it's a hint from Ubisoft, despite the fact they have made a promotional deal with Microsoft for this title
They are little trolls :p
Star Platinum Not really. The Scorpion is supposed to be a symbol Serket, the patron and protector of Pharaohs especially from Apep (the giant snake). It's also a metaphor for Old Egypt and ants are the Ptolemaic Dynasty. When Cleopatra brushed the scorpion off the map and put Caesar in it's place it hints at her demise by Amunet who used a snake.
Getulio Gonzalez-Mulattieri it was a joke, it's harder to notice irony and sarcasm through textual communication :p
You need to get more likes for this comment.
One of the best comments on CZcams.
what is play4. we have Xbox, Nintendo and Playstation. but play4. lol that is excactly how a child would react. maybe you need to comeback to to the real world. Microsoft are dicks. they destroy companies.
Glad to see Bayek and the other native Egyptians looking like the Hamites / Cushitics they were instead of Nordic white or Bantu black, nice work Ubisoft 👍🏼
Why does race matter?
Privian they're all CGI
milk and cookies with a sad ghost I'm a pale Finno-Ugrian and I was so happy to see that as well.
Don't forget, these Greeks SAW THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS FOR THEMSELVES.
henryjw15 Never said they weren't
3 years after i still rememberd anyone else?
Even after 5 years, no Ubisoft trailer came close.
Real☝ , exactly
how did Bayek get such a good lineup tho
*Them Egyptian barbers are on point*
Welll actually in ancient Egypt there was this ritual at birth where important or wealthy people (I. e. usually kings and such) where they would do something so that they never grew hair on the head in their lifetime.
disclaimer: I'm no historian, I might be wrong, don't go roasting.

I want an ancient Rome DLC.
BrickFilmsCinema no, a trilogy with egypt, greece and rome. They need to nail it and put time into it.
You could play as Brutus since they made him an assassin in this series.
Yes, that would be dope. And the ability to have the Brutus armor from AC brotherhood would be sick.
AGREED
No can do, Brutus didn't have any known blood descendants. Plus, he committed suicide in 42 BC. The only assassin-y thing he did was kill Caesar, he then sacked a few cities along with Cassius, hunted down Theodotus of Chios in was defeated by Octavian and Antony, before taking his own life. We could play as one of the assassins that aided him and attempted to bring him back to life using the Shroud, perhaps Bayek or Amunet.
1 year ago we got a cgi trailer that is totally epic.
Now we dont have anything epic in the marketing campaign of odyssey:(
Origins may be the best AC game, but I still think we're yet to have a game that reaches the concept's full potential.
I missed Assassin's Creed in 2016, but still glad they took their time!
I think that's why they came out with the movie to still have Assassin's Creed but not a game a sucky movie
skuller gamez they had the ezio collection
The movie didn't suck, you people just fail to realize that Assassin's Creed in ANY Movie form doesn't work.
The movie was literally Assassin's Creed all the way, the only thing they did was mess with how one of The Apples worked.
And the plot holes and the bad writing...

Nod at the bird and the snake dies. Everywhere, snakes all die!
In the game the Bird kills everything even goats
CK-was-HERE thats a callback....
this is the longest he have been without killing anyone
Man this game was so good, wish they would bring bayek/Amunet back for another game
Sad that u wont get to kill julius ceaser cuz he was killed by Brutus and Cleopatra because she was killed by Amunet :(
EDIT: I have never got this many likes thank you!
M0UNTAIN multiple playable characters confirmed for specific quests
keep in mind that its AC, not a history book... julius might very well meet his fate at the hand of an assasin, or brutus may be one. we will see what they come up with.
Ewenya p he was killed by Brutus in real life and in the AC lore so it has to be Brutus but hopefully we will get to play as him in one of the missions
sure i played it, but do i remember every single piece of lore from all ac games?, no :).
IT IS CONFIRMED THAT THERE WILL BE A GREECE DLC!!! LET THAT SINK IN. WE MAY GET TO ACTUALLY PLAY AS BRUTUS, KILL CEASER, ETC
Watching this in 1080p is insane
Watching it in 144p is even *INSANER*
can confirm
Tom Hunter watching this in 460 is madnesss
Goosebumps while watching this. One of my favorite game series. What a direction, editing and music❤
that eagle at the end just made the fudging trailer perfect
Finally a cinematic trailer :D looks awesome cant wait
2023 five years later and this best rpg in assassin’s creed that sticks to the classic assassin’s creed
Show of hands who's watching this after the 60fps update announcement?
The eagle knows this Assassin is in trouble so the eagle grabs the cobra with its feet claws
This trailer is so awesome. I didn't want it to end.
comeback because of that hardest transition ever meme
The rhyming is legend
I think Julius Caesar will be on our side that is the assassin's side probably this will be a Masterpiece of the game.
He won't because in AC lore he's a templar
Veni Vidi Vici nice name
Veni Vidi Vici if they make the romans bad guys I'm gonna be so sad
Stephen C. Let us think: a huge empire, led by a small group of people who suppress everyone but the wealthy, that aims to conquer the whole world and subject them to their order and way of life. Sounds like they'd make great Templars.
On the contrary, the lore of the series says that he was killed by Assassins (ie Cassius and Brutus were supposed to be part of the Assassin order).
Did no one acknowledge the fact that he shot his bow........ with his FEET. 10/10 brilliant trailer. Good song and it shows some key historical figures
You know a game is good when you return to watch it’s trailer three years later.
This is THE BEST TRAILER for a video game in HISTORY....PERIOD! All thanks too Leonard Cohan's genius..Just Awesome👊😎
🧢
Hidden blade with missing ring finger... I'm glad they didn't forget that little detail. Continuity is good.
I just had goosebumps everytime when he said, " You want it darker, we killed the flame."
Can we all just agree that even if ubis games arent the best, they make some badass trailers for them
The second best Game I have ever played in my life.
Which one's the first??
Its a masterpiece
i just loved how he shot the arrow in the end like he practiced it before
Artour Lynch He came from a family that was the pharaoh guards.
Bayek 10/10 Badass with a bow and arrow. I bet he will end up being my favorite.
Odyssey doesn’t have a cinematic trailer 😢
Dear Ubisoft,
Please make the next AC in Japan!
Ninja Assasins would be hella badass!
John Tang aren’t they already technically ninjas
Omg yes
Could involve The Shogun War.
Or in China
Yep, in feudal Japan
Ubisost always make great Cinematic Trailers
Revelations used to be my go to AC trailer. Cause of the awesome song and cinematic. But this is so good too!
Coming back to this after playing the game...still gives me chills.
2020 and I am still watching the trailer because it's so cool.
Oh gosh the historical accuracy with how he shot the bow with his foot! That was friggin gorgeous!

Trollin
You want it darker is a perfect match for this trailer. I would have to say this is by far my favorite out of the assassin creed series.
The intensity the song creates is incredible
This trailer...goosebumps! Excellent choice using Leonard Cohen's music. 👍🏻
